No-Window Room”
I knew that I had booked this no-window room, as I was only there for one night. I was surprised how quiet it was. But connecting to hotel Wi-Fi or outside cellular service was difficult. Definitely couldn’t stream anything on my phone. I also want to say a HUGE Thank you to Vincent at Front Desk. He checked me in and was very professional and very friendly. Great service from him! Thank you.

Worth staying in the hotel. It's opposite to famous department store and nearby restaurants. The bed is comfortable, room clean and spacious. The breakfast was great and they have laundry machine so that's help a lot when traveling a certain period of time.

We were very impressed by the professionalism and kindness of the staff in our regards. We must say that honestly, this attitude is not easy to find where we live in Europe. Our English being rather average, they made so many efforts to help and understand our numerous questions... Always sincere and smily !!! Since we had 3 bookings here I have 3 reviews to fill. :) A month after our trip, I have to say, the staff here really shined. They gave 5-star service and I always felt from them like we were VIPs at an ultra-luxury hotel. So helpful and so courteous, friendly, and gracious. Also to be noted is Fu Ward's most excellent location in the city. Clean quarters and great quality and variety of breakfast. The only unfortunate thing during our time in Tainan, and our entire visit to Taiwan in general, were the hordes of Chinese tourists from mainland China almost everywhere we went. I can only hope that the exposure to warm, *respectful*, Taiwanese hospitality will touch them positively. Would without question stay here again when we come back to Tainan!

I stayed for a night at the Fu Ward Hotel Tainan and found it to be quite a nice place. The room was quite spacious and right in front of the hotel is a department store selling a number of knick-knacks. Many places can be reached within 15 to 20 minutes walk from the hotel and it is not that far away. I would recommend this hotel.

Great location, service, and food”
My husband and I stayed at Fu Ward (Fu Hua) Hotel for one night, and were very happy with it. The location is excellent; it's near the train station (regular, not the high speed rail), Confucius Temple, the many other historic temples around Chikan Tower, and traditional food vendors. We had the three best meals of our entire two-week trek around Taiwan within a 15-minute walk of the hotel. Breakfast at the hotel was a nicely varied buffet--a mix of Taiwanese and Western foods. There is a public park and running track on the same block. Finally, there is convenient parking in the basement of the hotel, accessible by a car elevator located right next to the main entrance. The only drawback I found was the laundry; while there is free 24-hour self-service, there is only one combination washer-dryer machine that takes hours to complete a full wash-dry cycle, so it's difficult to catch it when not already in use. Overall, I was very pleased with this hotel and would certainly return on a later visit.

Excellent Standard Accommodations”
Excellent. I do think it's a 3.5 star hotel, possibly 4 star. It's clean, pleasant, well-located. I got a room with a great view on the 10th floor. The staff was helpful, though not quite as friendly as at some other hotels - professional, but less a notch less friendly. I think they could present themselves better by upgrading the welcome food & drink: unless the choices were just for me as an American, i thought the oreos and can of coca cola were a bit too "downscale" and not local enough - especially the former. Also, it was great ot have washer & dryer access and free, but it's tough for a non-Chinese reader to read the buttons and such on the machines to figure them out - and it took *forever* for my clothes to dry. The English language *instructions* were helpful, but maybe figure out a way to indicate what the buttons mean - or go up to help guests. For the same price, i preferred the Jia Jia (JJ-W), but that's more artsy and friendly whereas Fu Ward is excellent, just more mainstream and less personal.

Good located high quality low cost hotel”
The hotel is located in the heart of Tainan. Tainan is the former Capitol of Taiwan and a lot of historic sites can be visited. As there Ae the museums, the Confucian temple etc.. Unfortunately Tainan has no metro so you need to grab a taxi to visit the golden castle on the coastline and the historic area of the first trading posts from centuries ago. But if you want, there are also bike rental shops throughout the city. The hotel itself is very clean. The service is good and the staff at the reception very helpful. The breakfast is very Asian style and you don't need to lookout for westerner stuff, I.e. some eggs, as there are non - but if you ask, they will get them for you. Else, the buffet is huge and a great opportunity to test the Asian taste! Unfortunately the staff couldn't repair the cappuccino/latte etc. machine within 24h I'll definitely return.

I spent 3 nights in this hotel and highly satisfied with its location and equipments, service staff. Though the hotel itself is bit old, spacy room was very comfortable and clean. But if you are sensitive to noises, this hotel is not an ideal place. You should choose other modern hotels. For me, free laundret usage was a big advantage. Since the hotel is located in the center of Tainan downtown, I could reach almost everywhere I wanted to visit within 15 minutes walk. I like this hotel.

Stylish rooms, central location in Tainan”
We very much enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The rooms were modern and stylish and very clean. The location in perfect in the center of Tainan. All the sights can be reached easy by foot. The confucius temple is just around the corner and restaurants are nearby. (The bus station to the High Speed Rail station is also just next to the confucius temple.) We extremely enjoyed the Taiwanese breakfast buffet wit a large range of excellent dishes. For those who don't like Taiwanese breaktfast, there is toast, butter and jam available. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Good location, great price and excellent services”
I stayed for a business trip. The location is near the Tainan station (not the HSR). Easy access to a lot of places even by taxi like it is near the central of the city. The staff was very friendly, the room is a bit small but very tidy, clean. The breakfast was great compared to the room prices. For sure I will come back again.

Housekeeping was terrific, well-designed rooms, easy access to Confucius Temple (free HSR Shuttle 3 blocks away) and reasonably priced restaurants nearby (shabu-shabu, Tu Hsiao Yeh Tainan specialties), 15 mins. walk to Koxinga Tower and Tainan train station (great food court park on the way - must try Chou's Shrimp Rolls. Suggest booking best rooms to avoid smoking issue in smaller rooms. Free laundry but dryer takes 2.5 hours so bring easy to dry clothes. Great hotel!

Comfortable with great A/C and good location”
I stayed in August of 2014 for a few nights. The staff was kind and the breakfast buffet was plentiful and decent. If you're a solo traveler, I might suggest putting something on your table though, or the waiting staff (or antsy diners) might clear your table and give it to someone else when you're getting more food. The location is pretty good as it's in walking distance to temples and good restaurants. Most importantly for me, it was also a 5 minute or so walk away from a bus stop for the shuttle to the speed train (the stop name eludes me but it had a school name in the name and it was close to the Confucius Temple). As Tainan was hot and sticky during the summer, the strong A/C was a treat. Overall, this was a great hotel to stay at.

Good Hotel at a Convenient Location”
The service at the hotel is great and non-intrusive. We had flushing issue with the toilet bowl in our room on the first day. When we informed the front desk about it, it was fixed when we returned to our room in the evening. Even though we had breakfast included in our room rate but we did not have a chance to try it because we are in Tainan. There are so many great stalls and shops around the area that we can never go hungry.

We would recommend staying at this hotel. It was clean, the staff was very helpful, and they even had bikes we were able to use to ride around Tainan. They had a pretty good breakfast. The only downside to this hotel, was the musty odor, perhaps coming from the air conditioning vent? We also weren't given a room with a window so it was pretty dark.
