Hotel beautiful but.....”
We stayed in this hotel be aust our resort we booked was cancelled the night before. Crowne plaza us over 1 hr drive from the airport and more than that to the tianmen mountains. The hotel was beautiful, the room and bathroom amazing! The outdoor pool was not going when we were there, which left no where outdoors to relax as we were there for 7 days. No one speaks English at all, really frustrating. Food was delicious tho. Air con in room didn't work properly and it's super humid in Zhangjiajie. The couple in the shop were really really nice. The massage area was separate to the hotel so had to pay cash then the ladies expected a tip, annoying in a hotel of that size. No one spoke English so we didnt really know what was going on with it. You had to wear caps in the indoor pool, shouldn't have to. The most disappointing part was the outdoor pool not in service and not even being able to go out there and lay outside. Wouldnt really recommend unless you just stay in your room.

Enjoyed our stay there”
We asked for non-smoking room but they gave us one with very strong cigarette smell. When we rang the counter they changed our room quickly, and even bigger than the first one. Breakfast was excellent, with a large selection of both western and eastern foods. Staff are very friendly, especially the lady manager who was on duty at night (sorry I did not get her name). Location is good - 15 minutes' walk to the shops. If you need to book a 7 seaters taxi to the railway station or airport, don't book it at the service counter at the hotel - it is very expensive. Just walk outside the hotel and ask any of the taxi driver to book you one (they have contact with Di Di - UBER - drivers). If you book before hand, they will turn up on time, even if you book for the next day. If your air- conditioner gives hot air and it is too hot, forget about contacting the service counter. They cannot do anything. We tried many times and gave up. Just turn it off and open the windows to sleep.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast”
We booked two non-smoking rooms. When we checked in, one room was full of cigarette smell but after we rang the front desk, they moved us to another bigger room quickly. The other room was too hot and the temperature could not be adjusted using the control panel. We rang the front desk multiple times and they sent a service lady twice to the room but the problem remained. Eventually a supervisor rang and said nothing could be done as it was centrally controlled. He asked us to just open the windows. The lady manager on duty at night was friendly and very helpful. Other staff were very polite and helpful also. Breakfast was very good, they served both western and eastern dishes. Hotel is beautiful and clean. If you need large taxi, don't book it at the hotel counter - they are too expensive. Go to outside the hotel and ask any taxi driver to book you one - they have contact with DiDi (UBER) drivers. They are reliable and turn up on time, even if you book it for the next day.

Clean hotel which give you a good feel. Lack good and experience staff. Need to be every patient when talking to them. The breakfast is only so so considering the five stars status.

The place is big but normal size room. The bathroom was so good especially with the deep tub after a long day hiking around. Breakfast be sure to be 1st there especially if there is a big group of people they may run out and can't keep up with the demand. the gym was great.
