The rooms here are huge. The hotel rooms need some upgrading and modern facilities. The aircon does not always work in the room I was assigned. The Hammam at the basement is amazing and usually quiet during the day time, which was when I used it most often. A great place to relax and limber up in the warm steam. Staff at this hotel are friendly and very helpful. Lo...

A truly lovely hotel, unique, do not miss it. Yes, it is not close to the Metro, but if you ask the taxis outside for a price to get to the centre, or to the Bazaars, Museums etc you only pay 15000 sum, about £1.50, and that is the 'rip off the tourist' price!!! The rooms are a great size, spotlessly clean, walk in showers. There is an indoor pool and a fabulous out ...

beautiful hotel with nice rooms and excellent employees that are very kind and helpful. I wish they had computers for guests to use and I would recommend more protein options for breakfast (scrambled eggs, bacon). Cost about $10/100,000 som for a taxi from the airport or about $2/20,000 som from the train station (taxi drivers might attempt to rip you off)

Staff are lovely but the guests are awful chatting all night on a table right outside your window. Its too noisy and the location of the breakfast area is too close to the rooms. Bring earplugs or you wont sleep a wink. To be fair I cannot fault the hotel staff...they were lovely.

The place is the only hotel located inside the walls, so the location is the best. It's also housed in a historical building so it's very interesting. But that's it. The facilities are old, the prices charged are really high, the breakfast is terrible (even by our low standards), and the staff is really not friendly or helpful. They will book things for you for a high ...

Check-in:We came to Jahongir hotel at 7 a.m and it was very kind and hospitable to provide us a room before check in time . Room:The room was cosy and had everything we needed. Wifi:the best among all hotels in Uzbekistan we stayed. Breakfast:Breakfast was also great. The staff was very helpful. Location:The location is walking distance to Registan. Overall -great val...

We stayed during the low season at this hotel. (Uzbekistan doesn't seem to get a lot of tourists in the winter.) The staff was really helpful with advice, and the room was comfortable and warm - good shower, again, with great pressure (this is not something that is found everywhere with the plumbing constraints in some of the guesthouses). Room was big and clean, bre...

The proprietor Mr. Ali Jaan is a darling of a person. It is a family run business and is located near Lyab i-Hauz, 1 min walking distance. The rooms are spacious with fairly wide Single bed (My room was single bed). Very nice breakfast. All members of this hotels are super duper friendly. The owner did not even wanted to take money for 2 water bottles, when he came to ...

This family-run guesthouse or mini hotel had been my home thrice since I made the ancient city the hub for regional travel to Shakhrisabz and Bukhara. I was always receive greetings and smiles from Rustam and his workmate (Oops! I forgot his name) whenever I appear in the lobby or dining hall. The breakfast was always wholesome and so much that I could not stomach them...

The owner very helpful, friendly. The breakfast very complete (fruit, breads, tea, local cakes, etc). I felt like my home staying at sarrafon B&B hostel. The hostel location closed the historical place. I just walking to reach some historical place. Oneday, I'll will stay here again. Thank ypu miss Aulia for your room, food and kindness.

I have tried one other place in Samarkand before going to Emir's, and for the same price Emir is much better. The facilities are clean and well decorated. The common area is comfortable and big. The staff was nice and helpful with us. I'd definitely go back.

Quiet, clean, comforting rooms, on the firm side beds, no restaurant, which for me was excellent, but fantastic breakfast with variety and fresh cooked food. Personnel extremely polite and warm. Excellent atmosphere. Could not expect a better place if interested to rest and have quick access to all the parts of the town without the show of large hotels

2nd time I'm staying here on the same trip to Central Asia. Wonderful staff! I arrived early in the morning between 4-5am. The friendly male reception staff allowed me to check-in early without extra charges given my situation and arranged with the 2 female kitchen staff to prepare breakfast slightly before 7am. (my breakfast for the next day was swapped earlier as I...

The location was good for us as we could walk to sites or there was a nearby metro station. There are no restaurants in the area, but if you walk to the nearby park (10 minutes) there are a number of options. We arrived in the middle of the night and the night staff were excellent.

It's a family-run hotel. The staff are very forthcoming and place your comfort at the highest priority. On hindsight, i think i have made quite a lot of request but the staff still fulfilled every one of them with a smile on their face. The staff also embody Uzbek's value of being hospitable. I definitely recommend this place if you are low on budget, looking for a h...

Art Hostel's a good base for exploring Tashkent. I liked that the beds weren't bunk beds, but each had reading lamps and outlets. The bathrooms were clean, and the breakfast was impressively diverse and buffet-style, with something for everyone. There's a nice large lounge with tables and sofas, and beautiful photos of Uzbekistan with captions to explain them on the wa...

Situated right inside Itchan-Kala, and a nice tea house is just nearby. Room is clean and the owner, Jaladdin is willing to share every info about the city. Only problem is the water, you cannot refill, hv to buy a new bottle. Looks like whole Khiva is the same. :) Oh ya! They have a roof top area, and the view is awesme!!

Avoid, stay descended into farce. Staff pleasant but clueless. Several small things in room broken (shower head, tv, curtain). Booked early checkout and taxi but desk unmanned and no staff arrived until past departure time. Breakfast chaos - most food being delivered to tables as people were giving up and leaving after 25 minutes, unaware there was more than a plate o...

Very very very kind family:Dad,Mom and a girl. Good cost performance.Near bus stop of mini bus. Not many restaurants around here so if we need dinner/lunch, we may ask them to make them. Good interior in the hotel. They cant speak English well,so it's better that there are information of English in each rooms. We can ask them to call a tour guide who can speak English($...

Cheap places to stay in Uzbekistan

I stayed at Rumi hostel for one night. what impressed me would be the hospitality of the staff there. At the time I booked only one night stayed at Bukhara and needed to catch an overnight train to Tashkent on the next day at midnight. They allowed me to stay there for a couple of hours after check-out, using the internet and facilities such as toilet and bathroom. I...

It was the most comfortable and heart warming hostel in Uzbekistan so far. Host are so kind and helpful, and have great hospitality for instance they prepare porridge instead of egg and sausages for vegetarian, gave me a pot of hot water when I was sick and so on. There was heater in side which was really appreciate in this season. A bathroom with heater is really...

I was surprised how full Amir hostel was every night I stayed, even in November. There were travelers from all over passing through regularly, and most were eager to hang out. It would be nice if there were a larger public space to relax, with sofas; the one table doesn't fit all of the guests at once. The staff were friendly but a little distracted or transactional at...

Very nice place to stay run by wonderful owners. Everything was great (room, facilities, tea, breakfast, advices, drop-off to the taxis stand etc.), but it's a challenge to find the location! There're no signs or even no info on the guesthouse page regarding the floor the property on. I believe that the signs are must.

We chose this hostel because of its great location at a good price. The location could hardly be better, and the breakfast was pretty good, but the pluses mostly ended there. When we opened the door to the room we were assaulted by a mildew smell that was from the AC leaking into the thick rugs on the floor. The owner insisted it was fine and was argumentative and st...

Pros: ticked all on my list of essential criteria for a solo female traveller: clean, safe, super friendly/helpful staff, right in the heart of the old town! And at approx £20pn including breakfast and free wifi, it was a real bargain! Cons: I was assigned the ground floor room, which was a triple single bedroom, which even though was nice to spread out and I don’t co...

It was a very pleasant experience. I arrived early morning since I took the night train. The room was ready and the owner let me check-in. They also let me swap my breakfast day as I’m leaving early the following day and the breakfast was great! Excellent location, just behind the Nodir Devon Begi Madrassah. The room is nice, bed is comfortable, bathroom is clean. The...

This hotel run by family bussiness. Small hotel but great hospitality. Room was clean and they have heater in bathroom, so in winter time bathroom still warm. Breakfast beyond my expectation. Food was great. And location near to historic site. Took 20 minutes by walk.

The room that I stayed in has lots of "character", being located in a traditional house. However, it is a pity that the room lacks some basic amenities that make things easier for guests: 1. There is a table but there are no chairs 2. No cupboard and no place to hang clothes 3. Only one power socket, and that power socket is meant for the air conditioner. So if you wa...

A very please stay with friendly and smiling staff. Enough English speaking staff to make visitors feel welcome. The rooms are exactly what you would expect from business travelers, and the wifi throughout the hotel is a lifesaver in a country that doesn't seem to have data roaming. It is in a good location, and I can definitely recommend it for business travelers.
