The hotel is very modern and nice. Our deluxe rooms with direct access to the swimming pool were large and beautiful. The Acqua di Parma products is a nice touch. The hotel is a bit disorganised. We had some issues at the time of booking, which took a few emails to resolve. The very expensive New Year's eve gala was nice but not worth the €150 per person. We asked for ...

The best choice in our visit to Morocco, I recomened this hotel, it has every thing oyu need ,location is perfect right on the beach ,nice walk it's busy in the night ,the weather is refreshing the hotel is near the city center easy to reach any where parking is alwaysavailable.

Very spectacular hotel for travelers who are looking forward to stay in a luxury Hotel in Marrakesh with a reasonable value of money. We loved the staff because they were very helpful when we didn't like the first room when we checked in, they changed it right away when we requested. It has a very marvelous Islamic themed, the hotel garden is very very very nice. We e...

We stayed for 6 nights in december ,recieved a warm welcome from the Staff ,we had to wait over 2 hours to get a room but the room was beautiful ,we had a double and it was perfect for us . 5 stars in Marrakech is nowhere near 5 stars in europe but it was a definite 4 stars and we were Happy with that . Staff were polite and friendly at all times . Perfect location...

By far my best experience in Marrakech, and I've been three times! The manager of the hotel was so unbelievably warm and inviting during our trip - it felt like she was an extension of the family and really made the experience for us! Would highly recommend.

I feel very safe inside the hotel after walking through noisy and crazy medina. The atmosphere made me feel like home. I like the open courtyard of the hotel and the friendliness of the hotel owner -salma. She gave me clear direction of how to explore Marakech. The hotel is hidden in the small ally as indicated by name. I had to walk past the medina and local offerin...

I think the location is just too far from the mall/train station (about 5 min (no traffic) - 10 min w/ traffic). You can get a taxi though for just 10MAD/per person. There are no restaurants nearby except the hotel's room service/buffet offer/restaurant. Despite the location we still enjoy the pool, the staff were helpful. Room service food wasn't bad :) but if you are...

The hotel is a good base towards the other lovely cities in Morocco. It's a business/budget hotel, so don't expect all amenities to be present. However, staff were friendly and tried their very best to meet our needs. Your view is the busy streets of Casablanca and the Casa Port Station. Their restaurant is acceptable with reasonably priced meals. Stayed here for 2 nig...

I strongly recommend this hotel as the location is brilliant thanks to talk buildings the swimming pool areas can be cool when the weather is hot. My kids loved it. We found alots shops around and si close by. Taxis are so cheap and easy to catch. The staff were really nice professional and welcoming I would stay there again

We loved it! My boyfriend wanted to surf around, so we had a car and were able to do trips. The hotel itself was very good with the own bar - you won´t find the place to drink or buy alcohol in 50 km distance, so that was good:) Also they have the ATM machine, also not available in the nearest town. If you go out for dinner outside, you need the car, the closest place ...

Hotel Rose Meryem surpassed our expectations. We wanted to live in a typical Moroccan Riad mostly to get a good contact with other guests and a host family. And we directly felt welcomed by the family. Zeyneb and Rabiya were there to welcome us and show us around. We got 2 rums on the first flor overlooking the patio. Breakfast was very good; especially the honey panca...

We were at Novotel for three nights. Our visit was made easy, relaxing and memorable because of our stay at Novotel Marrakech. Perfect location within 15 minutes you can be any where, like Airport, Menara Garden, Manera Mall, Katoubia Mosque and Jema ul Fana. Hop on Hop off bus stop was just outside the hotel. Staff was tooooooooooo good especially Mehdi, he made us fe...

Staff is very helpful. Special attributes to Mr. Youness of the reception. There is another Hilton (without swimming pool) near to this one. They are two different hotels. Make sure you book this one. The other one is horrible and has a lot of bad reveals. Remember the one with swimming pool is the good Hilton in Tangier.

Great stay overall but only issue was the expensive massages were always shorter than the time charged. The 50min massages were around 40 mins and the 25min one was actually under 20mins. Very annoying. The clock in the massage room was always around 5mins plus already before we even started the massages. I should have asked them to reset but felt too embarrassed to do...

It was good, but I'd give it four, not five, stars. The bed was lumpy, service was friendly but not always easy to find, and there were renos happening right outside my room, so I had to keep the drapes shut. The hotel is beautiful and is a destination itself.

Very nice building, yet in need of some modernisation and renovation. Furniture gets old and shabby, but I’m sure 20 years ago it was a great hotel. Nothing provided, not even bottle of complimentary water, let alone tea or coffe or an electric kettle. One old towel for two people. Safe box not in working order ... but all that seems to be completely acceptable by loca...

This is like an Oasis in Marrakech, got great air conditioning inside which is what u need in Marrakech in july!!! Loved the decor that gives you a Moroccan vibe as oppose to four seasons that was more modern, the room was nice, spacious and got a good ac going on. staff were nice, didn't enjoy the breakfast just because it was more of a local style than full english o...

We have stayed there 4 nights. For the really fair and cheap price we payed we are happy with the hotel. The rooms are already a bit older but everything is clean. The cleaners are all very friendly to us and also the reception, they made our bookings for some trips we had and also reservations for the restaurants we have been. The bar is small but nice and we had even...
Cheap places to stay in Morocco

Very friendly staff who helped organised an excursion for us (though do try and haggle as they make commission) to Merzuga and the Sahara which was amazing. Very close to fez blue gate and allows you to explore the medina, the room had air conditioning which was great. Overall 4/5

My best stay while I was in Morocco for sure. Mohammed was very nice, he pick me up at the bus station and took me to the hotel by his bike. The room was clean and had enough facility. The toilet was also fine. Mohamed makes me feel comfortable and very helpful

The hostel is very clean. I booked a bunk bed in a female dorm but was the only one there so had the room and bathroom all to myself for the price of a dorm room. The bathroom and toilet are clean and well-maintained. The terrace where I had breakfast was ok. There’s not really a good view from there but the breeze was nice. The receptionist should smile more to be mor...

d sweets, given all the information about the area, things to do, places to see, followed by being shown your room and amenities. The entire Riad is beautiful, colourful and traditional. Great location and very good security. I stayed in the dorm room which sleeps 8, it was spacious and comfortable, though there is not a power socket at every bed, there are more than ...

The hostel is in the medina and you can access to any attracting spots quite soon. The hostel is simple and good place for taking a rest without special facilities, but it is very awesome for this price. The thing is it costs you only this price, and you will find the place is comfortable and warm, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Also, the Moroccan breakfa...

Moundir and Ahmed provided excellent service and advice. Location easy to access (look up on the walls of the Médina and follow the signs-ask shopkeepers the first trip) and convenient. Lots of shops, food, donkeys along the way. The room was comfortable and nice shower, great aircon. Lounge/breakfast room beautifully decorated. Nice breakfast and good coffee prov...

We had a very nice stay at Dar Naima. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The price was excellent value. Although there are not many frills, the room was very nicely decorated with a great Berber carpet and had an incredible view over the Fes medina. Breakfast was one of the better hotel breakfasts, with a hot tajine of fried eggs accompanying some traditional Moro...

Staff were very friendly. Communication was good. I arranged a ride to and from airport. It’s close to many things and easy to navigate Medina with map or google maps on phone. Neighborhood seemed safe enough, and it’s not far from good food! Breakfast comes with the booking! When walking Médina, I suggest keeping to yourself, and learn to say la shock run = no thank y...

no visit in Morocco would be complete without visiting the sunset surfhouse, and enjoying probably the best dinner you can have. the vibe in the hostel is great and layback, so is the owner Abdoul, who will do everything possible to make your stay an incredible experience.

This hostel has by far the nicest rooms and decoration, it's all very cosy! Also the rooftop is amazing and a nice place to hang out. Common bathrooms were relatively clean and the kitchen is well-equipped. The negative thing is the location: Tamraght is a huge construction site. You can walk to the beach (10 min by foot) but apart from surfers it's a bit deserted and ...

We had a nice stay at the Dar Ahl Tadla. The staff were attentive to our needs. You will need someone to guide you to the hotel the first time you get there, but once you are oriented it is easy to find as it is off a main road. The hotel was close to shopping and restaurants, yet enough out of the way to be peaceful and quiet. The hotel has a great rooftop with vi...

We spent 4 nights here and it was great! Rachid and Fatima are both lovely hosts and Rachid in particular went out of his way to make sure that everything went smoothly for us, including arranging 2 excursions, helping with taxis, finding a restaurant for us and accompanying us around the medina (in the rain!) so that we didn't get too lost. He found a heater for us an...

The staff try the best to make you feel at ease, the building is immaculate and spotless. The hotel is a bit far out but it's quiet if you appreciate that. There is alot of construction going on around the hotel but nothing that majorly affects your stay. The staff are very well spoken and endeavour their best to meet your needs. Overall enjoyed my stay here and would...

We arrived in Marrakesh at about 9pm - not recommended, as trying to get luggage to a riad (most are not accesible by taxi) at peak time is not fun. When we arrived we had great difficulty trying to work out where our riad was. This is not necessarily a problem limited to Riad Lila as Marrakesh in general is very busy and most market areas do not cater for taxis. Ho...

This hotel is brilliant for couples. I decided to go here in January so it was a bit quiet. I would definitely recommend hiring a car if you are staying here as you may need to drive out in the evening to the local places for some nice food. The hotel facilities here are great and the staff are really nice. They also speak many languages!!!

Simple necessities not available ie an iron,no fridge in the room, no adaptors available so had to spend £6 to buy 2 from local shop so can charge mobiles daily. Not a great variety for breakfast either.Wifi dropped constantly and there was no remote to the TV ,bath was awful state, the phone to call reception did not work so due to all this we moved from 4th to 1st f...

Nice boutique (small) hotel with very polite and helpful staff. Clean rooms. Breakfasts (included) were excellent. Other food/ drink was limited and very expensive - I bought some water for my room from a nearby supermarket (they didn’t like that but were ok with it). The hotel is a little out of the way from the centre of town but there are plenty of taxis available ...

We loved everything about this place. Our room was beautiful, the water was hot, the air conditioning worked very well. The staff was friendly we had so much fun with them. I would reco...

We liked the place although it’s off a square so taxi drops us 300 metres away Then to locate the office for keys across square Then a walk 300m walk in a alleyway to flight of stairs no lifts here a disabled person will find it extremely difficult to 2nd floor quaint rooms of character Delightful little place The rooftops has excellent clear views of ocean n beach...

The only concern I have is: During my reservation, I explicitly mentioned that I require 2 single beds. Upon checking in, we see a queen size bed. We asked the guest relations gentleman that this is not what we requested for and we need this changed. He asked us to wait for a few minutes and will make the change. We then went to sit by the pool and about 45 mins late...

I booked two nights at Laaroussa after just 10 minutes of hotel research for Fez because of its glowing reviews. No regrets! And I shall add another. Friendly staff Rajae, Karim, Anwar and Mr Porter - they were ever so helpful. Fatima, the chef - oh my, best meal I had in Morocco for sure. I don’t like lamb and I finished every bit of her lamb tagine. The riad is gorge...

Staying at the Meridien N'Fis was an absolute delight for me and my entire family (3 adult children). Although there are many charming Riyads in Marrakech, the Meridien is ideal in terms of offering a resort-like atmosphere. The only minor negative point would be the difficulty in getting a "big" taxi outside the hotel. I can definitely recommend this hotel for busines...

Have used this hotel 3 times already and I keep going back simply because its great. Besides the spacious rooms it is also a great place to go back to after a hot day of meetings where you can chill out at the pool or the beautiful garden. Restaurants are pretty good too.

The hotel has lots of staff always willing to help! The exterior is of a high standard, clean & contemporary, the rooms were clean however the upkeep like bubbling walls & dirty cushions on the balcony did let it down slightly. Shuttle to the medina daily every hour is helpful, small area to purchase memorabilia & a few homely restaurants. Tax charges at the end of the...

by far the best 5 star facility we saw in the area, and certainly of the highest standard for maroc. perfect location: near the beach (<5 min walk) but without the crowds, noise or wind. tranquil and private. unfailingly remarkable service at all levels. excellent in-house dining options for enough variety for a short stay. can't speak to the demi or full pe...

Our stay was superb in a hotel converted from a palace. The most wonderful moment was being hosted by the owner, Mr Driss & his family, during our last night. The famous Moroccan hospitality was displayed by all the staff in their service in every room in the hotel. The breakfasts were excellent, diverse range of foods. Our dinner on the terrace was divine. The signa...

Good location. Onsite beach. Breakfast has a lot of choices for sweet pastries but food is a let down. Sausages were gone and not replenished when we were having breakfast. They have a buffet dinner 350 Morocco dirhams per person which is not worth it at all. Food on the beach is restricted to club sandwich and pizzas. No alcoholic drinks on beachside however available...

More about Morocco
Discover the Magic of Morocco
Morocco is a captivating destination that enchants travelers with its rich history, vibrant culture, and stunning landscapes. From the bustling souks of Marrakesh to the serene beauty of the Sahara Desert, this North African gem offers a unique blend of experiences that are sure to leave a lasting impression. The country's diverse geography ranges from the majestic Atlas Mountains to picturesque coastal towns, making it a paradise for adventurers and culture enthusiasts alike.
One of the most alluring aspects of Morocco is its deep-rooted traditions that coexist with modern influences. As you wander through the narrow streets of ancient medinas, you’ll encounter artisans crafting intricate pottery, weavers creating vibrant textiles, and spice merchants offering aromatic delights. The warm hospitality of the Moroccan people adds to the charm, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the local way of life. Whether you're sipping mint tea in a traditional riad or exploring the historic landmarks, Morocco's magic is palpable.
Don’t miss the chance to experience the country’s stunning architecture, which reflects a fusion of Berber, Arab, and French influences. Iconic sites such as the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca and the Bahia Palace in Marrakesh showcase the intricate craftsmanship and artistic flair that define Moroccan heritage. Each corner of this enchanting land tells a story, making it a must-visit for anyone seeking a truly memorable travel experience.
When to Experience Morocco's Wonders
Timing your visit to Morocco can greatly enhance your experience, as the country boasts a variety of climates and cultural events throughout the year. The best time to explore Morocco is during the spring (March to May) and fall (September to November) when temperatures are mild and pleasant. These seasons are ideal for outdoor activities, allowing you to trek in the Atlas Mountains or wander through the vibrant markets without the sweltering heat of summer.
Festivals also play a significant role in Moroccan culture, providing a unique opportunity to witness the country’s traditions in full swing. The famous Fes Festival of World Sacred Music, held in June, attracts artists and audiences from around the globe, celebrating the rich spiritual heritage of the region. Similarly, the Marrakesh Popular Arts Festival in July showcases traditional music, dance, and crafts, offering a glimpse into the country’s artistic soul. Planning your trip around these events can add a special touch to your Moroccan adventure.
While summer (June to August) can be hot, especially in the desert regions, it’s also a time for vibrant beach activities along the Atlantic coast. Coastal cities like Agadir and Essaouira offer a refreshing escape with opportunities for water sports and relaxation by the sea. Just be sure to stay hydrated and seek shade during the peak sun hours!
Essential Travel Tips for Your Moroccan Adventure
Traveling in Morocco can be a delightful experience, but being aware of local customs and etiquette can enhance your journey. One of the first things to remember is the importance of greetings. A simple “salam” (hello) followed by a handshake can go a long way in establishing rapport with locals. It’s customary to greet everyone in a group, so take your time and enjoy the interaction. Additionally, dressing modestly is appreciated, especially in rural areas and religious sites, where women should wear clothing that covers their shoulders and knees.
Language can also be a barrier, but many Moroccans speak French, especially in urban areas. Learning a few basic Arabic phrases can be helpful and is often met with smiles and appreciation. Common expressions like “shukran” (thank you) and “afak” (please) can make a significant difference in your interactions.
Lastly, be prepared for a sensory overload in the bustling markets. Haggling is a common practice, so don’t hesitate to negotiate prices when shopping for souvenirs. Approach it as a friendly exchange rather than a confrontation. Enjoy the experience, and remember that your purchases help support local artisans and their families.
Where to Stay in Style and Comfort
Finding the perfect place to stay in Morocco is essential for a comfortable and enjoyable trip. The country offers a wide range of accommodations to suit every budget and preference, from luxurious resorts to charming boutique hotels. For those seeking a unique experience, traditional riads provide an authentic taste of Moroccan hospitality. These beautifully restored homes often feature stunning courtyards, intricate tile work, and personalized service that make for a memorable stay.
For travelers looking for family-friendly hotels, options like the Hotel Oudaya in Marrakesh stand out for their welcoming atmosphere and convenient location. Guests rave about the cleanliness and helpful staff, ensuring a pleasant experience for all. Similarly, the Appart-Hôtel Tagadirt is a great choice for those wanting spacious accommodations with easy access to local attractions. With its friendly service and well-maintained rooms, it’s perfect for families or groups.
If luxury is what you seek, consider staying at the Hotel Club Almoggar Garden Beach, where you can enjoy stunning views and top-notch amenities. This resort is ideal for those wanting to relax by the beach while indulging in excellent dining options. Booking through Agoda can help you find the best deals on accommodations that fit your style and budget, ensuring a seamless travel experience.

Getting Around Morocco with Ease
Exploring Morocco is an adventure in itself, and understanding the transportation options available can enhance your travel experience. The country boasts a range of transportation methods, from modern trains to local taxis, making it easy to navigate between cities and attractions. For those venturing between major cities like Marrakesh, Fes, and Casablanca, the train system is efficient and comfortable, offering stunning views of the Moroccan countryside along the way. The ONOMO Airport Casablanca is a convenient starting point for many travelers, providing easy access to the rail network.
In urban areas, taxis are widely available and can be a great way to get around. Opt for registered taxis, which are usually metered, or negotiate a fare with unregistered ones before your ride. For a more local experience, consider using shared taxis, known as *grand taxis*, which can take you to nearby towns at a fraction of the cost. These taxis operate on set routes and can be a fun way to meet fellow travelers and locals alike.
If you prefer more independence, renting a car is an excellent option, especially for those looking to explore the stunning landscapes beyond the cities. Major rental companies operate in Morocco, and driving allows you to discover hidden gems at your own pace. Just remember that road conditions may vary, and it’s essential to familiarize yourself with local driving laws. With the right transportation, you can make the most of your Moroccan adventure and create unforgettable memories.
Thrilling Activities for Every Adventurer
Morocco is a playground for adventure seekers, offering a diverse range of activities that cater to every type of traveler. For those drawn to the great outdoors, the Atlas Mountains provide an exhilarating backdrop for hiking and trekking. Trails vary in difficulty, allowing both beginners and seasoned hikers to enjoy the breathtaking scenery. Guided tours are available, providing insights into the local flora and fauna, as well as the chance to meet Berber communities along the way.
For a unique experience, consider a desert tour in the Sahara. From Marrakesh, you can embark on a magical journey that includes camel rides, stargazing, and traditional Berber dinners under the stars. The Agafay desert, located just outside Marrakesh, offers a more accessible option for those short on time but still eager to experience the desert's beauty. Here, you can enjoy a sunset camel ride followed by a delightful dinner, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Thrill-seekers can also indulge in adventure sports such as quad biking and paragliding. Marrakesh serves as a hub for these activities, with various operators offering guided experiences that guarantee an adrenaline rush. Whether you're racing through the dunes or soaring above the stunning landscapes, Morocco has something for everyone looking to add a bit of excitement to their itinerary.
A Shopper's Paradise Awaits You
Shopping in Morocco is an experience that engages all the senses, and the vibrant souks are a must-visit for anyone looking to immerse themselves in local culture. Each market is a treasure trove of unique crafts, textiles, and spices, reflecting the rich heritage of the country. The Medina of Marrakesh is particularly famous for its bustling atmosphere, where you can wander through narrow alleys lined with stalls selling everything from handmade pottery to intricate carpets.
