Location is in the middle of Wulingyuan town, side by side with Crown Plaza with restaurant, shops and food stalls nearby in walking distance. This place is absolutely amazing. The Aesthetic, the Staff, THE FOOD, the Scenery, All of it. We were completely surprised by the quality of the place. Probably some of the best sleep we have had in a very long time, certainly in China. Rain is the man, he really made our stay very memorable. It was a pretty exciting and somewhat long drive from the City to the In...

I rarely write reviews as I'm time starved, however after travelling from Singapore to Zhangjiajie, I had a little shock on arrival. Firstly, the rooms we had booked (Shuizhai) were not available as they were under going some reconstruction even though they were available on Agoda. The staff told us that they had tried to contact Agoda to contact us to no avail. I'm no...

We asked for non-smoking room but they gave us one with very strong cigarette smell. When we rang the counter they changed our room quickly, and even bigger than the first one. Breakfast was excellent, with a large selection of both western and eastern foods. Staff are very friendly, especially the lady manager who was on duty at night (sorry I did not get her name)....

I really had a great time in this hostel. It is located just 5 minutes from the entrance to the national park. The owner is very kind, and does everything he can to help you. He also let you do your laundry for free. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. There is a squatting toilet in the bathroom, but I wouldn't call that a minus; we are in China after all...

Very good location, only takes 10 minutes to airport by car and takes 2 minutes to Tianmenshan cable car station by walk. There are big beautiful park infront of the hotel. You can be provided airport pick up service by free. Very clean room and good service. But little bit noisy because of cars, I recommend get a room at the other side of big road. I will stay at ...

I actually wrote my review on this hotel 40 minutes after check out but somehow I don't understand its not publish and not in my draft too. Actually I don't have patience to immediately wrote because I love this hotel very much. It's the most luxurious hotel in Zhangjiajie. I never thought the room is so beautiful, Luxurious and cozy. We felt totally hospitality, All staffs were very helpful. Just shared with our experience. 1. Due to our flight delay, we called up to postpond one day arrival, the hotel promised to refund us one night hotel fee without penalty of course with proof from airline. 2. 25th December to 29th December 2012, weather forcasted snowing and visibilty was low, so we changed ...

We booked two of the same rooms (deluxe king beds) but we got one room smaller than the other. However, the stay was still extremely comfortable and we were very happy to have booked the hotel. Booking from the hotel's website is cheaper though.

This hotel should be called hotel weiwei as she runs the show ! she was on reception all the time and did an amazing job - checking guests in and out, solving any issues...advising on where to go, what to do and even help me with my chinese language. She single handedly deserves the 5 stars ! Beyond her, the location was great and easily accessible to everything. My o...

Stayed here for two nights, and it was absolutely amazing. The location was breathtaking, a short bit away from town. The owners were super helpful with everything from where we should go and fixing us a driver, to serving food customized to our diets and schedule. The room and view I believe is the best in Zhangjiajie and I would absolutely recommend it!

I loved staying at this hotel. I was upgrade to a suite for free. It was huge. Staff was efficient and so friendly. Hotel is clean and in the perfect location to the rail station and Tianmen Shan cableway. I am returning to Zhangjiajie next month. Will definitely be staying at this hotel again.

I wish I stayed at Wali’s throughout my entire trip in Zhangjiajie rather than in the city itself! The rooms were very big and comfortable and had everything you need. It’s also located near the bus station and main entrance to Zhangjiajie - all within walking distance. The owner is extremely welcoming and is very helpful with directions. He speaks English and every mo...

The owners and their daughter made us feel so welcome here. Though they didn't speak English, they used translation apps like pros and helped us to organize our time in Zhangjiajie wonderfully. The owner and his daughter took us on a tour of the surrounding area and saved us a bunch of money by taking us to the airport. The hotel itself is quite clean and comfortable w...

This was my first trip to Zhangjiajie and the proprietor of the Wind and Wood Inn/张家界风居住的森林民宿 did his absolute best to make my stay memorable. When I arrived at the Wulingyuan Scenic Area ticket station I was a little confused so I gave the Inn's boss a call and he promptly messaged me an itinerary for the day that maximized the sights I could visit along the way to th...

The hotel is very impressive. Perfect cleaning. Beautiful and well equipped rooms The pool is not heated, so you can not enter (water in early September is already cold) The food is not suitable for Europeans at all. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the gate to the hotel entrance if you do not have a private car

had a really nice time. I was traveling to Zhangjiajie for the first time and I was really nervous because it's a small place and I wanted to see the best way to see everything. the hotel staff was really helpful and their services were impeccable. the treated is like family. they showed us the map of national Forest Park and guided us on the routes to take. helped is ...

Good experience, would recommend. You'll want to spend at least 1-2 days in Zhangjiajie Forest Park, north of the city center. This is an ideal location for that part of the trip. Hotel is walking distance from the park entrance, and the staff gave us a clear itinerary and good recommendations for exploring the park. There are limited dining options nearby (we saw non...

The Best Western is located at the edge of Zhangjiajie City, just before the start of the highway that takes you to the national park area. It's a short taxi ride from most of the important areas of the city itself--restaurants, Tianman Mountain cable car station, etc. The room was presented very tastefully, with flower petals sprinkled in the washroom, a rose lying on...

This is a wonderful place for backpackers, there are many people in this hostel can speak English. They are very friendly and very devoted show you how to go, where to go. This hotel on the road, easy to find it. I came it in the winter, it's so cold in Zhangjiajie. People in the hostel very took care of me. Upon arriving at Zhangjiajie airport we were met by Xiao Xiang’s husband, who had a big friendly smile. Carol is the only one that speaks english, and she is absolutely great: she speaks really good english and she will help you to prepare your route in the national park perfectly well. The problem is that they have another hostel too, so when Carol is not there, everything gets complicated because the others doesn't speak any english and they are not really helpful (onl...

This place was great! Super helpful and super friendly! They gave us a packet of information on the mountains the first night we checked in which included a really helpful map of the area we used for the next 2 days. They answered any questions we had and helped us find a good restaurant the first night when we were starved. Great facilities also, nice bed and big bath...

First of all, it is very difficult to find the place. There are no signs outside the building. The second problem is that the hostel is behind two doors with a code. In order to talk to the owner of the hostel, you have to get past the first door. The owner lives on the 1st floor and you have to knock on the door on the right. The door to the actual hostel is on the 2n...

We were just stopping by for one night to visit Tianmen Mountain National Park. The hotel is located conveniently between the bus station and the Tianmen Mountain National Park entrance (about 5 to 10 mins to each place). Owner is very helpful as well, I wrote in via Agoda to see if he could help with online booking of tickets of the Tianmen Mountain National Park (a...

Arrived near midnight and was able to check-in without issue (was with my gf who is from China so communication wasn't a problem. Didn't get to see how the English was). Service staff was very friendly and helpful with everything we needed help with such as replacing the TV remote batteries to figuring out the water heater. Room was fairly basic but good sized; same wi...

This fantastic guesthouse is located in lovely location near the western entrance to the national park. The rooms are very nice, with a wooden interior and modern bathroom. The Inn is co-owned by a very kind couple who live there with their family. The husband is an excellent cook and there is a menu with delicious, reasonably priced food available. He also offers ride...

No one speaks English at this hotel. They rely upon a voice translator app on their I-phone which isn't very good. Also, most of the rooms have squat toilets but their pictures show you western toilets. So I was surprised when I checked in and they did not have a western toilet room available. They did, however, move me to a better room the next day. This hotel also ...

We could not have had a better stay here. From the time we arrived the hotel manager and his team went the extra mile to ensure our stay was enjoyable. This included stocking the fridge with beers specially for us, spending ages translating back and forth with us each morning so we knew where to go and even taking us swimming to a locals spot where they treated us for ...

My wife and I spent two nights here in June 2016. Before we ever got to the hotel, we had excellent E-Mail exchanges with the manager, Mr. Zhu. The staff stands out as they were friendly. Checking in and out were problem free. They also offer good advice as to how to get to various tourists locations. The room is spacious, two queen size bed in our rooms. Location is within 100m to the bus and railway station. Food is easily available downstairs.

Right from the beginning of our stay the manager was ever so helpful starting with airport pick up and helping us to organise our excursions to the national parks. The hotel is beautifully located overseeing the Tian Mountain, plenty of character (period dining area) and very spacious rooms (the bed is XL king size and very comfortable). We arrived after booking online through Agoda. Very good location, close to most popular places such as Zhangjiajie National Park, Grand Canyon & Glass Bridge.

I really enjoyed my stay here, the owner ensured the whole stay was very pleasant. I needed to reach the airport at 6am and the owner was willing to drive me there personally at 530am. Breakfast was a home cooked noodles, overall I really enjoyed my stay.

Probably the largest building in Zhangjiajie, only a couple of miles from the airport, and about a 10 min walk to the cable car station. Very clean hotel I couldn't really fault it. My only negative would be no one speaks English, and it's best to take a English/Chinese translation device with you. Check in and check out are no hassle tho.

It is very beautiful quartzz sandstone with accessible with any public transport. There is a lots of international bank, the historical and scenic view of the mountain.
zhangjiajie city nothing much but its national parks is really fantastic. Beautiful and natural rock formation.
Wonderful city. It is civilization and nature integration. You can take cable car from city to Tianmen Mountian.
amazing nature. minimum 3 days. National park at least 2 days, Zhangjiajie mountain another 1 day minimum.
Zhangjiajie is beautiful place , the nature is gorgeous , the mountains are very huge but i recommend if u ready to go zhangjiajie u have to be in good condition , and not the place to bring small children
Beautiful landscapes, you must visit Tianmen (the actual cave or hole in the mountain) after march, since january and february according to the staff it is closed because of the weather.
Beautiful place, the city is not very active during early January, you will find many closed places very early at night.
WE liked what we saw of the city which was not a lot as we came to see the mountains . There were not many bars in our hotel area and for 2 foreigners who dont like Chinese food much ,there wasnt much other choice.
It's an amazing city in terms of great views, but super rude people, especially the taxi drivers. Taxi drivers were in for the money only.
Zhangjiajie is a very nice place, the weather is cold at that time. the outdoor situation is the best situation.
Although we had a very bad experience with the airport, we almost missed our plane due to some misundertanding with airport personnel, the people in Zhangjiajie are very warm.
I have been to Beijing and Harbin and other cities/provinces in China but Zhangjiajie ffered something different.

Discover the Wonders of Zhangjiajie National Park
Prepare to be mesmerized by the stunning landscapes of Zhangjiajie National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site that showcases some of the most breathtaking natural formations in the world. This park is famed for its towering sandstone pillars that seem to pierce the sky, creating a dramatic backdrop that attracts photographers, hikers, and nature lovers alike. The unique geological formations, shaped over millions of years, are not only a feast for the eyes but also a testament to the incredible power of nature. Among these pillars, the Tianzi Mountain stands out, offering panoramic views that are simply unforgettable.
Hiking enthusiasts will find a paradise in Zhangjiajie, as the park boasts a myriad of trails catering to all skill levels. Whether you're a seasoned hiker or just looking for a leisurely stroll, you can explore paths that wind through lush greenery, past serene streams, and up to breathtaking vistas. One of the park’s most popular hikes is the Golden Whip Brook trail, which meanders for approximately 7.5 kilometers along a picturesque river, surrounded by towering cliffs and vibrant flora. Don't forget to bring your camera; the views are Instagram-worthy at every turn!
For those seeking a more thrilling experience, the Grand Canyon of Zhangjiajie offers an exhilarating adventure. Here, you can walk across the famous glass bridge, which is the longest and highest in the world. As you traverse this transparent marvel, you’ll feel as if you’re walking on air, with stunning views of the canyon below. This is a must-see for anyone visiting Zhangjiajie, and it certainly adds a touch of excitement to your outdoor exploration.
Top Attractions That Will Leave You in Awe
Zhangjiajie is home to a variety of attractions that showcase its natural beauty and cultural significance. Among them, the Glass Bridge is a standout feature, attracting thrill-seekers and curious travelers alike. Spanning 430 meters over the Grand Canyon, this architectural wonder offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Walking on glass can be a heart-pounding experience, but it’s one that you’ll remember for years to come.
Another noteworthy attraction is Tianmen Mountain, known for its stunning scenery and the famous Tianmen Cave, often referred to as Heaven's Gate. Visitors can take a scenic cable car ride that offers sweeping views of the mountain range, culminating in a visit to the cave itself, which is a natural rock formation with a breathtaking view of the valley below. Best Time to Experience Zhangjiajie's Natural Beauty
Timing your visit to Zhangjiajie can greatly enhance your experience. The park is beautiful year-round, but each season offers a different perspective on its stunning landscapes. The best time to visit is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) months when the weather is mild, and the natural scenery is at its most vibrant. During these seasons, the flowers bloom, and the leaves change color, adding a magical touch to the already breathtaking views.
Summer (June to August) can be hot and humid, but it’s also the peak tourist season. If you don't mind the crowds, this is a great time to enjoy the lush greenery and vibrant wildlife. Just be prepared for occasional rain showers, as this is also the monsoon season. Conversely, winter (December to February) brings a serene beauty to Zhangjiajie, with the possibility of snow adding a magical layer to the sandstone pillars. However, some trails may be closed due to weather conditions, so it’s wise to check in advance.
Understanding the crowd levels can also help in planning your trip. Weekdays tend to be less crowded than weekends, so if you can, aim for a visit during the week to enjoy a more peaceful experience.
