"The hotel itself is great, the pool is cool, inviting and scrupulously clean (as is the whole hotel). The location is far enough from any noise that the area is completely quiet at night but a short walk to town for all that Surin has to offer, you are better with transport though and ample parking is available with 24 hour security. But the best part of the hotel without a question of a doubt is the staff, they are brilliant, no request was too small, or too big they handled all our needs perfectly. If you come to Surin and don't stay here the loss is yours. "

"I have been going to Surin for a couple of years and always stay near the bus station. I don't drive in Surin and it limits your search for hotels. I decided to brave a car rental and found Slive on Agoda. It is a short drive from central downtown Surin. This a beautiful modern clean well kept hotel. There is no dirt or smell or darkness to this hotel. Everything attached to the walls is actually attached to the walls. No mold or water build up in the bathroom. It actually drains down the drain. Every corner of this hotel is so clean. The food for breakfast was fresh and prepared with care. You can tell by the flavor. I will never stay anywhere else on my visits to Surin and you shouldn't either. I highly recommend this hotel. The staff is great. All the staff in every part of the daily operations. Great location. Lots food and places to eat. Walking is safe and encouraged. Family friendly area. Large hospital across the street. Traffic is heavy but ok. "

"Stayed in Surin over the MotoGP weekend as all the accomodation in Buriram was taken up. Tanban was a wonderful choice and an extremely comfortable stay. Room was spacious and clean. Shampoo, soap and drinking water were provided. Clean toilets with good water pressure and hot water for showering. Laundry services available at a fee. Gym was fully equipped and coffee and tea were available for free. Food options and a convenient store less than 5 mins walk away. Chang international circuit was about a 45 mins drive each way. Definitely my choice of stay for future visits to Surin."

"aside from being a bit (2 km) from the center of town -- which, granted is not ALWAYs a negative, and in the case of Jarat Mansion, definitely not so, sicne there are plenty of places to eat and convenience stores within an easy 5 minutes walk, this is by far the NICEST hotel I have stayed in in the past 6 weeks of travelling SE Asia! Met by the manager on arrival, immediately offered -- without asking and withotu charge -- a gold bottle of water, and maps of the town and district... what a JOY! And whenever I went out, he was there to ask "Want me to call you a tuktuk?"... no thanks, I always walk... but in the heat, I imagine most people would welcome the offer. And, unlike most peopel workign the desks in even bigger, more cnetral hotels in larger cities in this part of Thailand (NE), the manager ACTUALLY spoke English!!! And very good English at that. "
