Where to stay in Sihanoukville
Sihanoukville hotels & accommodations

We stayed at the Independence in January 2013 during our Cambodia tour and we can definetly recommend it. Probably the best hotel in Sihanoukville with a lot of history. We went to Sihanoukville as a stopover on the way back from Ko Rung and would not go there again, Sihanoukville is full of junkies and backpackers so that we didn't bother to go out much and stayed ins...

We really enjoyed our leisure time in this best in class hotel in Sihanoukville. Starting from private beach and tasty breakfasts to our room furnishing, service, fitness centre and spa. Personnel tries to do their best to ensure the top level of your rest. For example, receptionist Anna was always ready to assisst with any request. And our special thanks to Duty manag...

Hotel is fine. Good breakfast. Decent rooms. BUT Sihanoukville is being rebuilt for Chinese gamblers. There is mud - and dust - everywhere, broken sewers and noise of construction from 7.30am until after it get dark. OK if you are a Chinese gambler, not so good if you don't like the side-effects of casinos etc being constructed. In 2 years it will be a different town....

Arriving at the White Boutique Hotel was like finding an oasis in the middle of a vast desert (the long drive from Phnom Penh plus the acres of Chinese construction sites certainly made it seem like one). Once we stepped into White Boutique Hotel we were overcome instantly by a sense of peace, relaxation and warmth. The hotel was very well kept, the private beach was a...

Song Saa is a beautiful and tranquil location. Every detail is beautifully executed in a very subtle and tastefully understated yet luxurious way. It is very focused on sustainability, the environment and the surrounding communities. The staff are all wonderful, really genuine and helpful and very well trained in their jobs. They take great pride in their work and the ...

We enjoyed staying in a large size family room with 1 queens sized bed and 2 single beds. The bathroom is cambodian style (very simple). The food at their restaurant is really surprisingly good. They should keep their chef at all costs. The atmosphere is really relaxed and friendly, you can get much cheaper hotels in Sihanoukville but you get what you pay for.

We were very happy with our stay at Sahaa. Sihanoukville itself is still in early stages of development for luxury accomm, so a lot is still backpacker hostels and starting to see big casino style hotels. So we were really happy with our choice of Sahaa which was a boutique hotel, which felt premium, personal and great value for money. The place is beautifully deco...

what more could we say...we simply had the best time in Sihanoukvile! From welcoming drinks -beers ( courtesy from the hotel owner) and been served right to us at the swimming pool, lovely roses surprises in our hotel room as my fiance just proposed to me! Imagine on a chilling day by the beach and delicious Fish amok only in Ren - yes !! the best amok we've tried in...

We had booked a room at another hotel in Otres 2 that ended up being a big disappointment. We decided to leave and found Mangrove River Resort. Boy, did we make the right move. What a beautiful hotel. Great room with a quality bed. Quality linens and towels. Incredible bathroom - loved the rainfall shower head. At times though the hot water seemed to disappear a...

We are a group of 7 with booking of 3 rooms in Sea Breeze Resort, Sihanoukville for 2 nights. Upon checking in, one room had funny smell but was quickly changed to another without much fuss. The resort / room itself is clean and comfortable, but the road leading to the hotel were muddy and bumpy. Beach is only across the road, 100-200m away, one can sight beautiful sun...

This is the best hotel in Sihanoukville with great facilities, a very nice beach and great restaurants. The New Year eve dinner (included in the room price) was fantastic with great singing and fire show as well. The only drawback is that it was a victim of its own success, which meant long queuing at the check-in counter and at the main restaurant . There were a fe...

Everything about our stay was wonderful. The staff and so kind and provide exceptional customer service. The rooms are clean and bright with a beautiful view of the pool. Everything is brand new, clean and the breakfast was delicious. We loved the omelettes! Thank you chan boutique for the lovely stay in Sihanoukville.

we had originally booked this hotel for two days but rang and asked if we could come a day earlier. this was no problem. we'd been to three cities in cambodia before arriving here and were looking for some solid r+r. we certainly got it here. the staff and owners were very friendly and laid back. nothing was to much trouble. it's wonderfully isolated from the rest ...

We stayed one night at a double bed room with a/c and a clean bath. The staff were helpful with check in/out. The breakfast was simple (eggs, toast, coffee or a few other selections), but good. The hotel is a 3 minute walk to the beach. There's restaurants/bars at the beach, which were good and average priced. The beach is clean with powdery sand. The beach had very fe...

Otres is the best beach if you want to get away from Sihanoukville craziness. We found isolation an easy beach walk away even on Cambodian New Years weekend. Good restaurant choices. The room was spacious and clean. Descent breakfast- good choice and plentiful. Would stay there again.

Overall it was a good stay at the resort. The staffs were very very helpful and accommodating, especially Hayam. He’s stationed at the pool’s bar, very friendly and warm guy. He gave us useful tips on what to eat/do in Sihanoukville. The resort is not on the beach front, but it’s just a 2-3 mins walk cutting through another boutique hotel. Only suggestion would be t...

We had a suite and it was a really good size and very comfortable. The only downside was the building work going on at the hotel which woke us up at 7am. The infinity pool is fantastic, especially at sunset, as the hotel is located at the top of a hill so you get a great view of the whole city. The sky bar is nice for dinner too. Breakfast was decent from a western poi...

The hotel has a very long stretch of direct beach access, and that is the best thing about it. The rooms and facilities clearly need some overhaul. and there is constant building work for putting more bunglows onto the extensive grounds. For a 5 star resort the place is strangely soulless and lacks any attempt to give it a special feel. Staff is very friendly and helpf...

I would love to be able to recommend this hotel and area BUT there is major developments being built in the area and right next door to Harmony home. The building works does start quite early and the construction looms large over the quaint little place that Harmony is- you can get away from the noise by spending time on the fantastic beach just across the road from th...

The hotel was very peaceful. Sihanoukville has changed a lot in the past year, now there are Casino's going up everywhere. This place had a very peaceful environment. The pool was very deep (near 3m/9ft) and much larger than it appeared. The view from the room was incredible. The staff were very friendly. We will stay here again when traveling through Sihanoukvil...

The buffet had a little bit of everything. It was all very good! By far the best we have had in the last two months of traveling through Asia. The service was great but not the best English speakers...which surprised me because everywhere else we have stayed in Cambodia had excellent English speakers. Anyways wasn't a big deal but made for some difficulty. Also there i...

This hotel had only been open a month when I stayed there. Although its a little disconcerting to be faced with gaming tables on entry, the hotel proves to be well set up. The staff are very well trained and helpful, and the food is excellent. The Skybar may be the nicest place in the area. There's still a couple of teething problems - my windows leaked a little with ...

White Beach Hotel is a good step-up from the many guest-houses round Sihanoukville, yet at a similar price. Great front-desk service, clean and tidy rooms, a refreshing pool, wifi and all about 50m from Occheuteal Beach. The breakfasts are good as long as you're not expecting a substantial western buffet, and with a great view of the coast. There are also a wide choice...

This is probably the best choice for staying ways from city. As the price benchmark in Sihanoukville city is increasing incredibly higher than ever and it is still growing up. This hotel can offer a comfortable hospitality within an affordable price. The breakfast is nice and cool and the pool is cute and lovely. The guards are nice and easy to use an App for a Moto-ta...

Down a side street and then an alley and the greenery provides a little respite from the unbelievable hellhole that is Sihanoukville. You have to see it to believe it..the amount of construction is off the scale ..have never seen anything like it. The roads are often non existent and literally if you can possibly avoid going there I suggest you do. We were staying on...

Lovely quiet hotel, away from the noise and chaos of Sihanoukville. The student staff were fantastic and did everything they could to make our stay pleasant. We ate a few meals at the hotel restaurant and they were excellent. The kitchen staff do an incredible job. We were saddened to observe some customers giving the reception staff a hard time--bullying really. Thes...

I was a bit perplex both before booking & then starting my stay, with all the negative reviews around. First I was lucky enough to stay there once most of construction work was over. Still got some noise from 7 / 8th floor while staying on 6th, but upon request it was stopped immediately! More generally the staff would take the time, sometimes a long one, but get the t...

The city, construction and general problems with Sihanoukville are not the fault of the hotel. Nor is the fact that most restaurants, bars, etc that used to be in that area are now closed. The hotel is near the beach and near the lions so if can be good if you know what you are getting into. The hotel room was a good size, very clean and the staff was friendly. b...
Cheap places to stay in Sihanoukville

My husband and I stayed at a bungalow and it was quite cool! Room and bathroom were clean and the location was perfect for going to the beach (about 10 minutes walking). What we liked most about Led Zephyr though was the adjoining restaurant's atmosphere, with great food and live music every night -- for those wanting some peace and calm, I would suggest staying somewh...

I did not regret that I chose to stay in Onederz Hostel during my visit in Sihanoukville, Cambodia. Aside from the fact that it is cheap, the staff are the best. They answered all my questions about Sihanoukville and they even booked my tour to Koh Rong Sanloem and my bus ticket from Sihanoukville to Siem Reap which was so affordable. Continue your excellent service!

Very friendly staff and best price in sihanoukville for our dates, but location is far from everything, you need to take tuktuk or rent motorbike. This street full of "lady for rent" in night time. This guesthouse providing motorbike for rent for 8$/day (normal price is 5-6$/day). Drinks and water for normal prices at reception, wifi is normal (evening time slow as eve...

I was happy I chose the Sakal Bungalows. I live in Cambodia and am used to simple guesthouses and hotels but I didn't have experience in Sihanoukville and chose Sakal Bungalows online because it was close to the port. The public areas were nice and clean and the staff were generally very helpful and friendly. The room itself was not so different from other less expe...

The room is cheap (cheaper if you book in person) and the bathroom is clean. We stayed in the village which is a short walk to the beach and only a 15 minute walk to the beach bar/ restaurant area however they do offer a free shuttle service to the beach bar and back! What really made it was the frieldily family who run it! The only thing that could be better is chang...

Good location, close to everything but still nice and quiet. Staff are friendly and willing to help with any requests you have. Room is huge, clean, good facilities including hot shower, free water, fridge, air conditioning, fan etc. Rooms cleaned daily. Free wifi in all areas. Overall excellent value for money. Couldn't comment on the food as we didn't eat there, pure...

We loved every minute of our stay at the Ream Beach Guesthouse. From the moment we arrived Marco made us feel very welcome, the guesthouse has a lovely calm but fun atmosphere. The location is great -very easy access to the airport and Ream National Park. The property itself was everything we needed on a nice beach- the pier is great for an early evening drink watchin...

The rooms are basic but the location is great for all tourist activities. The restaurant downstairs has great woodfire oven pizzas and the Cambodian food is of a very high standard in terms of presentation. Higher than the the hotel rating. The staff generally were easy to communicate with and very helpful. If you want atmosphere then get a beach bungalow elsewhere and...

We prepaid for 3 weeks for our room and the room was fine. My only complaint was after the first few days in Sihanoukville we really needed to leave , the beaches had pools of what looked like sewage water and trash everywhere, the town had garbage and trash everywhere, a lot of places we went to last year were closed. The town has been taken over by Chinese investors....

I had a great stay at the Wildside Villas. The managers are super friendly and helpful. When I arrived they gave me lots of information about the place and what should be avoid and done there. I had an upgrade to one of the villas because there was some kind of misunderstanding between Agoda and them. The room I had was very clean and comfy. The shower was downstairs ...

Hostel was a bit hard to find, i planned to stay one night. Now I have been week here and cant complain. Good fibe in hotel and staff will help you in all your problems. Fastest wifi in Kambodsa that i have used. Location is really good, close to beach and minimart, here you can sleep in silence.

We stayed here for 5 nights in the middle of December in a Classic Double Room on the top floor of the tower, room 222. We really enjoyed both the place and our room. We liked: The Room - comfy bed, fridge, AC and great view. Close to the beach - Just a ~5 minutes walk to the empty part of the 3 km long Otres beach. After visiting most beaches around we still felt thi...

The staff at Moonflower are amazing. I was only meant to stay for 2 nights but ended up staying for two weeks. The hotel is new, so the bungalows and rooms are clean, modern and cheap. San Paul the manager goes above and beyond to make sure you have a great stay. It's a short walk to Otres 2, but would recommend you hire a motor bike to get you around the town, as it's...

This is located just by the pier to get to the surrounding islands so it's fantastic if you want to do some day trips. A Tuk Tuk or taxi can't take you right up to it because it's right on the beach, so you have to walk just a tad but it's not far...maybe 4 businesses before you get there. The food was so excellent especially the salads. We were in the new part which w...

Great location, friendly staff and clean rooms. There are cheaper places to stay in sihanoukville but this place has the perfect location on the beach with a great bar! Rooms were clean (sand does tend to get everywhere but that's to be expected) and staff always greeted me with a smile. Will be coming back here!

I had a room on the 2nd floor without the balcony but overlooking the swimming pool. Hotel has no lift so you have to carry all your luggage up the flight of stairs. Room was comfortable and cozy. Hotel location is close to eateries and beer bar complex. In Sihanoukville casinos are a stones throw away mainly servicing the Chinese but the beaches are white sand wit...

Like many reviewers of this place I booked the garden view room and was upgraded for no charge to a pool view room. The three best things about this place are its location to Otres 2 (5 minutes walk, best beach of Sihanoukville), the complimentary breakfast buffet, and the pool. And it should really go without saying since it's in Cambodia, but the service was of cou...

Golden Sea Hotel & Casino is located in a calm area of Sihanoukville, however it is just walking distance to the nearest Victory Beach. All other famous Beaches such as Ocheteaul and Serendipity beach , Island Beaches are just 10 minutes Tuk Tuk ride. So your choice of staying at this property is truly a good idea. Hotel reception is really great as they are truly o...

Located just right off the pier this hotel offers unblocked sea views unlike others that are tucked way behind. Room is clean and well-maintained like new - wooden parquet floors, double glazed balcony windows to minimise noise especially from the beach bars after 1030pm. Price is good value for a supposed 4* hotel in Sihanoukville in comparison to what I see in the ar...

One of the value for money hotel in Sihanoukville, walking destinate to the beach front and lion round about where the happening night life. They have their own private area with restaurant and bar at the Otress beach, do ask the lobby staff for more information, they will arrange a transport to send and pick up. We spent almost a day at the pool side, they provide ple...

I travel to Sihanoukville quite often and I've stayed at the Moon Julie several times. It still has one of the best locations in town, clean, large rooms, and a friendly and professional staff. It's still my favorite Sihanoukville hotel but I did notice that the breakfast buffet didn't have near as much to offer this trip than in the past. Still I'll be staying here...

This establishment goes by several different names, Busaba suite @OC Boutique, OC hotel and Thaiyang Chhen hotel. The photos showing a pool with a nice garden are over a year out of date and the pool garden now has a half built casino on it. This encroaches within a few feet of the pool, so the photo of sun loungers all down the side is total misrepresentation. The ...

We spent one night in this hotel for our honeymoon. The swimming pool and poolside were clean and quiet. Excellent for a cosy and relaxing time for both of us. Staffs were helpful and friendly. The room condition was fair only as the floor of bathroom didn't seem to dry completely and our air conditioner was not working perfectly ( every time we returned to our room, w...

Very good indeed. Brand new with lovely rooms and pool area. The Tuk Tuk drive found it hard to find and it is in an odd but good location. Odd as it is down an unmade road coming from either Ochheuteal or Downtown. But it makes for an easy walk to either. You get to see bits of Sihanoukville that you may never have found due to the hotels location. Staff really good a...

This is a lovey little hotel, large clean rooms, good pool and right on the beach. The hotel is run by a friendly German couple, when I visited they were training new staff so there was a few issues around dinner time but nothing major and we were offered a discounted rate because of this. The hotel is located away from town at the far end of the beach..which is good...

We enjoyed our stay here. Within walking distance to restaurants and a quiet beach. Otres 1&2 are a $3 taxi away. Pool is nice. Room was clean. Staff was friendly, although it's best if you speak some French because most of the staff does't speak English. They were really lovely though.

The hotel looks very nice from the outside, but inside is significanly lacking. Although I hear that it was open for two years now, the hotel is still unfinished. There was an awful sewer smell in the bathroom overtime we left and returned back to the room, most likely coming from the drains. The rooms are overpriced based on the lack of amenities (no bar, restaurant...

It has a great view of the ocean and the pier, like really good. Panoramic even. It is not really in walking distance to any beach. What it is in walking distance to is all the Victory Hill restaurants and bars, which all have mostly an expat crowd. I wasn't interested in any of that, except for one decent French cafe on the closest street. I did not get free breakfast...

Not much to tell. Very basic room with a big bed, small fridge, hot water shower and a/c. Lock up and security for your rental Moto. You need to get transportation to the beach or restaurants but are close to the bus station, banks and the main markets.

As advertised a very basic bungalow with a bed, fans, bathroom. No other facility at the time I was there, which was ok I was looking for a quiet and private place to recover after some serious partying in Cambodia. Friendly exchanges with other guests and helpful manager who booked my private cab for Phnom Penh. Lots of eating places and helpful places (laundry, mini...

Real reviews for hotels
I have been coming to Sihanoukville for 16 years but haven't been for the past 2 or 3 years. Now it seemed dirtier, seedy-er than before with trash on the streets, rough roads, broken foot paths, curbs, etc.
For the vegan set, there are a few places to eat at. DAO of Life is Cambodia's only truly vegan cafe, even though there are loads of others that will describe themselves as vegan, they tend to serve meat too.
All are nice (beach and sun)but I has got snatched from tuk tuk at night time :( grabed my phone from my hand.
no rules town, cheap prices for all but dangerous place. I get poisoned in olive&olive restaurants near golden lion circle .
okay to spend a couple days but best as a 'launching off point' for the surrounding islands unless you are looking to party with back packers and mongerers.
It is an awesome place to visit for its great mix of sea and forests, making it picturesque and great for sightseeing and fun.
Sihanoukville is a large open area. Their is an airport as well as good bus transportation for Pnnom Penh.
Koh Rong Samleom has superb beaches! We stayed in Koh Rong but only stayed in the southern part of the island.
its a great little town - can get almost anything your heart desires. Still unspoilt - not too many tourists - but far too many casinos.
Was nice to see the cambodian beaches. Local fisherman traditionally fishing. Cooler. Waterfall a must to see.
Love the beaches and the night life in Sihanoukville. I have been in peak and off peak seasons and the place although quiet in off peak is still a fabulous venue to relax and enjoy Cambodian food and hospitality
its a great vacation not expensive if u shop hotel prices on agoda people are friendly , ignore all the begging Cambodian children and adults some good places to eat and some amazing beaches, scooters are cheap to rent get a tourist map and scooter skip the tuktuk's the drivers are greedy but if u do take a tuktuk negotiate the price before you get in it.
Nice beaches and good food, friendly people. We went to some small islands for snorkeling and sun bath.
Not the place for me & my wife we are 65 this place is full of kids loud music bars& gambling all so run by Russians with a corrupt police force
It is interesting beach, try the local food on the street especially BBQ beef serviced with fresh vegetables under ice - it is amazing
We stayed at Otres 1 beach which is one of the least developed beaches and was still quite busy. It was the slow season! You probably need to stay at least one night but I would recommend getting out to the islands as soon as possible.
Going to Sihanoukville is the fastest, cheapest, and most exciting thing to do if you want to escape your busy life in the city.
I would like to recommend Sihanoukville as a transfer village only (to Koh Rong or Koh Rong Samloem certanly).
The beach of Sihanoukville is pretty dirty. The only reason makes me want to come back here is the islands nearby.
This place is a bit of a party town with many bars and restaurants around. The food in general is pretty good and the locals are friendly.
Sihanoukville is perfect place for you IF you dont mind other tourists, crowded tourist places, rich tourists who love to spend crazy amount money, (therefore) greedy locals, streets full of bikini girls and shirtless men who are searching for those bikini girls, horrible restauranst full of greazy pizzas and burgers and fat western people eating that robbish.
It is a place where we feel we could just move there to live or retire. It is sunny, beaches, people, culture, and all.
It is a place where we could just move there and live one day. If you like beach, it is definitely a place and explore Islands fishing.
its a very beautiful and relaxing place but overpriced ! The service at restaurants by the beach extremely slow ,disorganised ,very poor for what u pay .
a lot of nice beaches with enough hotels ranging from cheap guest house to very luxurious hotel. Island hopping and snorkering to the nearby island.
I would recommend the place for the well travelled or seasoned traveller, you can find some gems in Sihanoukville, like beaches, bars, restaurants, jump on a bike and explore but would not recommend it for the lesser travelled person as there are pitfalls and a roughness to the place and one has to be on its guard
watch out when on the beach.... you will be surrounded by cute kids trying to sell you things... also there is a one armed man who will walk around begging usually in military fatigues.
GREAT PLACE FOR A HOLIDAY, I BOOKED 4 NIGHTS DECIDED TO STAY 3 WEEKS. VERY SAFE AND PEOPLE ARE VERY FRIENDLY.
good beaches, but the best is Otress1 and Otress 2, go there, don't stay in beaches at city, they are crowed and dirty.
It's only early days for tourism in Sihanoukville, It reminds me of Bali in the 80's and Thailand in the early 90's.
