"From the moment we walked into the hotel we were greeted by many curtious staff members. Check in was a breeze and the front desk staff recommended a great area for lunch directly across the street with so many food choices from Korean to American. The room met my expectations on both comfort and cleanliness. There is a shuttle to the airport that can be taken from the hotel or the stop across the street, very convenient. Also, a short walk to the night markets and night life. However, the best part was before we left to visit the Seoul tower I asked if they had a baby crib so I wouldn't have to share a double bed with my husband and baby. :/ The staff said they would check on availability and if so leave it in our room. Not only did they have a crib available but it was adorable with angelic bedding. It made a tired mother VERY happy. I would definitely visit again. "

"We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Seoul. Almost everything you need is already provided here. Free shuttle bus to Myeongdong, Seoul station, dongdaemun. Food is about 2 minutes walking distance. Free refill drinking water. Convenience store is at level 14 of the hotel. Breakfast is great (not awesome though). Ah yes, remember to go to eat at the fish street somewhere here! Small street but crowded and very delicious! Highly recommended! Adios"

"This is a new hotel recommended by my friend It was our wedding anniversary trip to Korea , the hotel has kindly upgraded us to a suite with the view of Seoul Tower and even wrote a congratulatory note with chocolates. This is very thoughtful The reception staff are very helpful and friendly, they can converse in English very well. The facilities of the hotel are really very thoughtful, there is lounge on the top floor to see nice view of seoul, with free coffee and water. Every floor there is ice maker machine and ironing facilities. The room I stayed are very clean and spacious (space is problem in most seoul hotel) so we choose this place due to its room spaciousness. The walk to myeongdong is about 15mins (not too far) which is perfect to be away from the noise yet convenient. The stay was perfect, i will definitely choose this place again when i go back to seoul! "

"We are resident in Korea and frequently visit Seoul, usually staying at 4-star hotels in Myeongdong, popular with young Koreans and Asian tourists. This time, our usual hotels were fully booked or room rates were much increased. Agoda offered a great deal for a family room at the Kukdo hotel in a commercial district, one subway station from Myeongdong. Our room was very comfortable, with a double and a single bed, safe, minibar, free wi-fi, foreign channel tv. The bathroom was fitted with tub/shower and bidet toilet, the washing basin with big mirror was conveniently placed in the entrance area. Our room, on the 17th floor, offered a great view into the mountains. We liked the area around the hotel with its narrow alleys, undergoing re-development, but still with plenty of old Seoul feel. The hotel is a short stroll from Gwang Jang, the oldest traditional market, famous for its mung bean pancakes (bindaetteok), which are best enjoyed with traditional rice wine (makkeolli). Upstair are the order shops for traditional Korean custumes (hanbok). Even closer to the hotel, one can access Cheonggyecheon, a beautifully reclaimed stream with a peaceful walkway to Myeongdong. The hotel restaurant looked good, but we decided to eat in the small alley restaurants and had coffee next door above the convenience store. We really liked our stay at the Kukdo and will definitely come back."

"I was in Seoul with my mum and we absolutely loved our stay at Nine Tree. We had previously spent two nights at the five star Lotte World Hotel in Gangnam because we were part of a tour group and had moved to Nine Tree after extending our trip to be closer to the shopping district. Less than a minute walk away from exit 8 of Myeongdong subway station and three minutes away from Sejong hotel (where you can take the airport bus to Gimpo and Incheon), it was really easy to locate. The staff was really friendly and helpful, and check-in took less than 10 mins. And even though it didn't seem like much from outside the hotel, I was immediately taken by surprise when I opened the door to my room. You can tell that that Nine Tree is a relatively new hotel, and while the concierge area was small, the modest 27 sqm family twin room that we booked was in fact pretty spacious (I booked it because of what I heard about hotels in Seoul—that they were cramped and small with not a lot of space for big luggages). Not only did the room cost around the same price compared to most standard twins of similar hotels in the surrounding areas, it far exceeded my expectations. There was a spacious area up the front with a bench cabinet where you could leave your large suitcase. The room was spanking clean with a direct view of Myeongdong (do remember to request for high floors if you like). The bed linens, bath robes and towels supplied were clinical. The hotel even provided a bottle of febreze for post-bbq freshness. As for the toilet, it looked as if it was newly installed and I could not find any traces of grime or dirt in or around the tub (I'm a stickler for clean toilets). And like Lotte, there was even a pillow menu from which you could pick out one you like for a good night's rest. All in all, Nine Tree is value for money, clean and a stone's throw away from all the shopping and good eats. What more can one ask for? Will definitely return"

"The hotel is brand new on top of a shopping mall. Everything is new & clean. The room is relatively spacious compared to other hotel in Seoul. Water machine in every floor, no need to brother boiling water ourselves. I would recommend take airport bus #6002, this cost cheaper with more rapid bus schedule."

"This hotel is located in an upscale business district in Seoul and is designed to cater to international travelers. This is not the place to stay if you’re interested in a Korean-feeling experience, look, but is the place to stay if you want convenience and centrality. Subway stops are really close by. The front desk staff is very professional and speak pretty good English. There’s a large comfortable lobby and a 7-Eleven next door, well-stocked with alcohol. The rooms are quite lovely—like other hotels I stayed in in Seoul, the entire room is automated and starts working once you insert your room key in the wall socket. This one was even more automated than others, with light sensors tracking what part of the room you were in. I had an incredible view of a valley of shorter buildings surrounded by skyscrapers. The bed was firm, like all the beds I experienced in Seoul, although this one was maybe a touch softer, which was nice. There was a TV. There were the standard slippers and robe"

"Hotel Skypark Central Myeongdong is the best hotel in Seoul because it's a new hotel with good room rate. Free in-room wifi. $10 (each trip)Limo bus #6015 to & from Incheon International airport. Do not forget to inform the 6015 bus driver to drop you in front of KEB(Korean Exchange Bank)Myeongdong, where the hotel is just located behind this building. Hotel Lotte is just situated cross the street and Myeongdong shopping is just in front of this hotel. Hotel provides maps and customer service could speak good English. Lots of good Korean Restaurants just in front of the hotel or within walking distance. Most of the scenic spots could be reached by underground train and the station entrance is in front of the hotel too. Do not forget to stay in this hotel when you travel in Seoul. "

More about Seoul

Seoul is a city of enchanting history and economic success, a destination worthy of both the leisure and business traveler. International travelers are introduced to the city via the Seoul Incheon International Airport. Short term travelers have the option of modern airport hotels, but it is only a 30-minute ride into the city from here.

Those looking to experience the city’s culture have much going for them. The highlight here would be Changdeok-gung, a royal palace dating back to 1405 and a World Heritage Site. Between the grand sites are a collection of royal shrines, Buddhist temples, and museums. The DMZ, or de-militarized zone separating North and South Korea, makes for a worthy day-trip as well.

Shopping is undoubtedly available in abundance here. The areas around Insadong Street are some of the most famous in South Korea, offering gift shops, art galleries, and traditional tea shops. Myeong-dong offers up-market shopping amongst a collection of Western-styled hotels. In Gangnam, visitors will find the upscale dining and entertainment venues. This district also boasts the city’s latest shops and hotels.

Be sure to check out the interactive map of Seoul for information on hotel locations, attractions, and must-see destinations.
