It was my first time vacation at semporna,sabah. All about services at dragon inn I was very satisfied but in rural areas dragon inn there's still have a rubbish floating coming from nearby towns. I hope the relevant authorities will solve this problem because the city view and ocean beautiful become unsightly. its also give effect at dragon inn view.so,for the best feedback in future please take priority this issue.tq

Me and my friend recently travelled to Tawau. Both of us searched for hotels at Semporna and this resort option came out. The address also mention it at Semporna. However, we only got to know that the resort is located 2 hours from Semporna. The two hours is doesn’t matter but the entire road is extremely bumpy. Advisable to drive with four wheel drive. The ideal use of this resort is for relaxation. The resort is surrounded by coconut plantations, Mangrove Trees, rivers and other flora. The resort is very close to airport and 40 minutes to Tawau Town. The resort fully made out of wood. Their rooms are huge and spacious. Whoever staying here, can get packages from the resort itself which range from RM200 onwards for the beautiful islands like Kapalai, Mabul and others. They also have packages like Kayaking and River Cruise to see the fireflies and crocodiles. Buying packages from them will be convenient even though a bit expensive. The resort has a spa too. The foods are delicious. The resort staffs are so helpful and friendly. Overall, we had best experience. It’s a perfect place for relaxation.

i was at the semporna inn for a night in september, 2012 before heading to mabul, and another night on the way back. on my first night, i was trying to sleep and, about 1 am, i heard some noise out in the street. when i opened the drapes to look, i saw a fist fight with about 5 people. the cops showed up, very exciting, but not exactly welcoming. frankly, semporna is a pit, but the semporna inn isn't a bad place to stay if you find yourself there. wi-fi was ok, so was the aircon. free hbo was a nice extra, as well as the free water in the room. hot water in the shower was nice after a week on mabul. the staff seemed nice. no problems with my reservation. walking distance to the seaport.

The time we booked most of the desired hotel properties we wanted which offered twin rooms were booked out so started looking for hostel accommodation and this was a new hostel in Semporna (stayed in March 2017) which was very close (in walking distance) to the boat drop off from Mabul island along the pier where there are plenty of seafood restaurants. It would have been better for us if they offered a few private rooms or dormitories with fewer beds but the capsule bed spaces were clean and had plenty of electrical outlets to charge our phones. They also offered a paid airport shuttle service.

We book 2 chalet for 2 nights for our group vacation. Since we rented a car the location was not a problem for us. The view of the resort was beautiful. The staff was very accomodating to our request.. The chalets were spacious and cosy. Water supply was disrupted due to the drought season but staff informed us that only certain hours during the day that our water supply will be cut off. In the mean time, we were free to use the sharing bathroom nearby. There is a restaurant at the premise but we mostly dine out at Semporna town.

I stayed at this hostel 4 days whilst my partner went diving in Mabul. I wasn't so keen on Semporna itself so I actually stayed inside most of the day. The hostel always had a great vibe and I must say the owner was very welcoming and very friendly. Enjoyed the different selection of breakfast each morning with coffee or tea. Only thing I would say is the floor could do with a little vacuum, although the cleaner was always cleaning you would find quite a bit of dust and hair on the floor which would stick to your feet as shoes weren't allowed to be worn. Apart from that a really enjoyable stay.

it was a last min trip and we manage to book this resort. it was worth the money, location was beautiful and you can do some snorkelling around the hotel (remember to bring your flipper, sometimes the current can be too strong for beginner). cleanliness is ok but there is a lot of ants roaming around the bed, the staff is very friendly and helpful. the worst encounter is when I confirm a boat with the lady boss for my trip (the night before) to the semporna to do diving, but was delay due to engine failure and I was not informed until I called the lady boss to check on when the boat is coming(I waited for 30min). their facebook reply take 3 days and it very hard to get a reply through msg. you can only call them to confirm the booking and check on other request you have (island hopping & diving). do note that boat trip from semporna to lato lato cost 100rm, on the island boat going to semporna has "fix/rubbering band" timing 5.30am till last boat at 6pm.

Booked at last minute and most hotels in Semporna are fully booked. Stayed 2 nights on 10 & 11 May 2017 Deluxe King room. U cant expect much on hotels in Semporna. We arrived late at about 8pm and when we stepped in the whole lobby smells like fish market. Terrible. We got room 130 and smell as such too, smells better on 2nd day though. Room size is acceptable. Towel to be collected at the reception. Bed are nicely made with 2 thin pillows and i requested for 2 more pillows. Toilet is below average. No bidet spray but there is a pail & bailer. Instant heater is working well but the holder of the shower loosen & spoilt and was hang below my height. So i need to hold the shower head to wash my hair. We noticed the door soft-closing hinges was broken when we stepped in and requested for room change, unfortunately there's no other room available and also no one came to rectify until we checked out. Aircon was working well but makes too much noise that caused me unable to sleep. No hairdyer. I requested for it and was told it is borrowed by other guests by the reception and i didnt got the chance to use it. No coffee maker. No hanger. No fridge. No telephone. Wifi was VERY weak - connect & disconnected every few mins. On my 2nd day, we realized that our room door was unable to auto lock when we leave the room. It was the keycard problem and we were given a physical key to lock & unlock our room. Also, our room window was faulty too, unable to lock. Location is quite a distance from the central jetty and would require abt 15-20mins walk. Nonetheless, this hotel is surrounded by many shops. There is a 24hrs minimart nearby opposite the KFC. There are few 24hrs coffeshops below & behind the hotel. There is 24hrs self laundry behind the hotel. Few banks & ATM machines nearby. On weekends, there will be bazaar market just infront of the hotel. Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and another 2 nights at their central jetty area. Personally, i prefer to stay at this area f

This place is awesome! I have the best vacation ever, and made lots of friends there including diving instructors. They are all super nice and friendly, we go diving and snorkeling with them during the day, and sing and play guitar with them at night. I was scared of water, the instructor was with me all the way through my snorkeling to make sure i was safe. The hotel rooms are not the best, very basic accommadation. Don't expect the same living condition as those luxury resorts, but you can't beat their price. And the food was good too unless you are really picky. Anyway I can't wait to come back next year.

We stayed at the Family Room for 4 nights. The room (including toilet) has beautifully tiled floor which ease the cleaning. This room doesn't not has it's own balcony, but there's a balcony just right next to the list with clothes hang dryers. The beds are comfy and I had good 4 nights sleep. The single bed is right behind the lift but we don't here any significant noise. There is a huge 2 HP GREE air cond in this room is which quite noisy. The room is sufficiently lit. There's a console table/shelf with a wall hanged LCD TV, small safe deposit box, coffee making with mugs, electric kettle, free water, (not shown in the photo), free wifi-acceptable speed, an in house phone. There are 4 power sockets at in the room. The hotel is also near to Pharmacy: Guardian (1 min walk) and Watson (3 minutes walk), Giant Supermarket (5 minutes walk), plenty of seafood restaurants around, just a very short stroll away. The luggage storage service is just a small open area next to reception.

Semporna leaves a lot to be desired, worst town I've been in so far in Malaysia but have to go here to go diving at the beautiful islands. Eric, the manager, runs his own personal day trips to islands that i wish I had known about before. I think staying here and taking day trips to various smaller uninhabited islands is best, not staying on Mabul. I will come back here to dive later in the year and feel that this hostel is also one of the best I have stayed at in Malaysia and I've been traveling all over for 3 months. Full breakfasts too;eggs/toast/sausage/oatmeal/fruit/tea/coffee, thick night blanket but place is airconed, large tv room, place location is perfect for sunrise watching and in the evening lots of little cafes at base of hostel...

My stay to Atine hostel was absolutely pleasant. The house is very clean and beds are just so comfortable! (You get two pillows).The room has aircon and lockers,every bed has his own lamp, plug and a little basket. There are also curtains that separe the 4 bunkbeds :)Tea, coffee and water are complimentary, as well as toiletries! You can use the fridge,microwave etc...Also there's a huge variety of useful things you can buy (as sunscreen,aloe vera,tampons etc...)Atine and her auntie are so sweet and kind,always ready to help!Ask them about the bus ticket to KK, if you need it,as you may get a special price ;) I booked a snorkeling tour with SPM through them and it was cool as well. It is located at less than 10 mins from the jetty and about 5 mins from the bus stations. Perfect!Unfortunately Semporna doesn't have a lot to offer apart being the only way to get to the islands nearby.

The picture taken from the drone looks enticing - what attracted us to go there. The reality is very different as this was the worst place I have stayed in for years. It is run by a gang of about twelve men that stay on the property the entire time - even though most of them have no real function there. They just linger around and stay in unoccupied rooms. Our room was a dump without a shower and a toilet seat. We had to listen to the guys take turns peeing as the room was ten feet high but only separated by a six foot plaster wall. Staff was extremely rude and they were only interested to chase after the single female guests. After showering from the rainwater barrel, I had some friend noodles and a boiled egg for breakfast. Not even fruit. And once we saw the gan loading guns openly into a boat, including an assault rifle, we got a bit uneasy. Once we noticed that the guy sitting oppsite of us at the table was holding a loaded assault rifle under the table, we fled on the next boat.

good enough for tight-budget traveller; nice transit rest place before continuing your next vacation plan on island hopping trip around semporna..however,not reccomended to those who highly seek for cozy,complete neccesities equal to 3 star hotels.. truly cater the need of budget traveller who don't mind on any lacking of the facilities provided as the front office services are very helpful, friendly and warm enough to fill your day!

I did not know what to expect when I set off, but once I settle in I realised I was in an amazing, welcoming place. It was more like a homestay and the staff were so friendly. The food was good and you can buy fresh fish and crabs off the boats and the staff will cook it for you. The island was very interesting as there is a local community living right in the middle of all the resorts. Great place to learn to dive or just snorkel. Not a 5 star but so much better!!!

1. Toilet is smelly.. public main hole / shitty kind of smell. 2. The main door is hard to open/close. The door's edge is tightly attached to the side of the wall. 3. Pls make the front counter for 3 stars hotel more customer friendly rather than a place for staffs to hang around. 4. The breaksfast is great. I like the food choice. 3. Others is great. Feeling like to come and stay again.

I have an awesome stay at the Ocean Inn.My big thanks to the staff in attending my friend and I during our 4D3N in Semporna and Island hopping.Credit to all the young males staff,Mr Hassan,Saddam,Adam, Nazrie and Andy. They were very polite and soft manners,always smiling to the guest.When i am waiting for my friend to come down in the lobby(the lobby is quite small and crammed when all of my group of 7 were gathering around the counter),guest who were requesting something, the staff on duty decline in a very soft tone . I am quite impressed by their professionalism.They were very friendly and easy going. Check-in was fast.We were so happy when one of our standard twins room was up graded to a bigger deluxe room( that can accommodate 4 of us). As for food, the hotel is surrounded by many restaurant over looking the sea side.Some restaurant were opened early around 3pm but few were closed during the festive of Raya Haji recently.Only minus is the sink was leaking when i tried to fill in the sink bowl to rinse my wet clothing after the dive. Check out time is quite prompt(we request for extended late check out but the hotel was fully booked. Anyway we still able to store our luggage in their store room just next to the counter. After returning from my island trip, i am still able to use the toilet to wash and change. There was no breakfast included but the strong WiFi was a bonus although in the morning all the celcome line was not so clear/good due to very bad weather condition -heavy hazy.The hotel warm welcome and hospitality makes all the makcik2 disappointment vanish quickly and stay here for the day enjoying the comfortable bed with moderate air condition temperature.(some cant stand too cold and some one really the maximum.I do recommend this hotel to my friends and others who want to fine good and new hotel in Semporna. I definitely will come and stay here again.

I am staying with my family last 3 days. Basically like homestay. The room is quiet ok with the basic bad, table and toilet.However, the water pressure is quiet low. Aircond is cold. No remote for us to control the temperature (should ask the receptionist). You can walk to Semporna town about 20 minutes or ask the staff to send you (driving only 5 minutes far). Overall, our stay is just ok.

After coming directly from the jungle in borneo with no air-condition, Mabul Inn was like heaven. Me and my boyfriend were just staying in Semporna for a night before going to Mabul and then we stayed another night after diving at Mabul. Aircon worked perfectly, good big private bathroom and very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend for backpackers who just need a night or two of privacy in Semporna.
