Samarkand hotels & accommodations

Staff are lovely but the guests are awful chatting all night on a table right outside your window. Its too noisy and the location of the breakfast area is too close to the rooms. Bring earplugs or you wont sleep a wink. To be fair I cannot fault the hotel staff...they were lovely.

Coming from Bukhara and Khiva, Jahongir has the most local flavor of the hotels I looked at in Samarkand. Very friendly staff who give good advice and take care of the place. Breakfast was buffet style which was nice because you can take whatever you like; most small BnBs in Uzbekistan don’t have as much variety as Jahongir for breakfast. The rooms are comfortable and ...

This family-run guesthouse or mini hotel had been my home thrice since I made the ancient city the hub for regional travel to Shakhrisabz and Bukhara. I was always receive greetings and smiles from Rustam and his workmate (Oops! I forgot his name) whenever I appear in the lobby or dining hall. The breakfast was always wholesome and so much that I could not stomach them...

I have tried one other place in Samarkand before going to Emir's, and for the same price Emir is much better. The facilities are clean and well decorated. The common area is comfortable and big. The staff was nice and helpful with us. I'd definitely go back.

The Platan looks like a beautiful old home that has been refurbished into guestrooms. It is quiet with comfortable beds, good shower, and excellent restaurant. Would definitely recommend it. The area is residential but within walking distance to most sites. Breakfast was the best we had in Uzbekistan - cooked to order with a big variety from pastries to eggs, to kefir,...

We stayed at Ideal Hotel for 3 nights and were most happy with its services. The hotel was located 10 mins (by walking) from a group of good restaurants that are well rated on tripadvisor, and Registan could be reached by 30 mins walk, or the free transfer once-day from the hotel, which was a pleasant surprise for us. The hotel room is exceptionally clean, and the key ...

The room that I stayed in has lots of "character", being located in a traditional house. However, it is a pity that the room lacks some basic amenities that make things easier for guests: 1. There is a table but there are no chairs 2. No cupboard and no place to hang clothes 3. Only one power socket, and that power socket is meant for the air conditioner. So if you wa...

We chose this hostel because of its great location at a good price. The location could hardly be better, and the breakfast was pretty good, but the pluses mostly ended there. When we opened the door to the room we were assaulted by a mildew smell that was from the AC leaking into the thick rugs on the floor. The owner insisted it was fine and was argumentative and st...

I would recommend this place. Strangely I was the only one on the whole hotel in July - but saying that, I had great attentive service. The roof top views are fabulous, and you can walk to the nearby attractions from here. But you will need a taxi for the other major attractions.

The bathroom and toilet room is clearer than I imagined. And the manager dealt with my check-out without any trouble although my check-out time was so early in the morning. All was OK, very comfortable. I enjoyed talking with the “strangers”, who are traveling alone in the mid garden. I hope to stay again when I visit Samarkand. Thank you.

Quite easy to communicate with staffs in English and their service was really good. They really tried to help my family. But the hotel was too cold. We stayed in 2 triple rooms but one room's conditioner was too small to cover the big room. We could only find one warm room after changing twice. Even the restaurant for breakfast was too cold. Except the coldness, it was...

Hotel Arba was clean, comfortable, with good internet and very friendly staff. They even gave me a ride to the center of town when I couldn’t get a taxi. Which was a big help, because maybe the only drawback to this place was that it was a little bit less centrally located than some of the other options. But overall great value for money.
