Salzburg hotels & accommodations

With 2 sons of an age whereby they have very much grown out of the 'Christmas Magic', Christmas had lost its sparkle to myself and my wife. I booked our Christmas trip with a hope that there would be some sparkle return to this holiday period. Wow !!! - The Hotel Bristol is a truly fantastic Hotel. I have been lucky enough to stay in some very nice Hotels around the...

The reception, the restaurant and some of the rooms are already renovated. Our room was not renovated, it needs some refurbishment but was super clean, spacious and warm. It would be great if in the room were available tea and coffee facilities. The staff is helpful and friendly. There is a paid parking space behind the hotel. The location is incredible - only 2-3 wal...

Very convenient if your mode of transportation in coming to Salzburg Austria is by train. Surrounded by fast food (Burger King, Starbucks, McDonalds) and shops inside and outside the Salzburg HBF. There is supermarket inside the train station which is the closest one to the hotel. Hotel breakfast is OK with lots of basic staple stuff.

The Wyndham Grand Salzburg Conference Centre is excellently located, a 4 minute walk from the Salzburg Hbf. Check-in was quick and very professionally done before the receptionist was extremely kind in providing us a city map, pointing out key attractions as well as nearby amenities like Supermarkets. From the hotel, a 12 minute walk brings you to Mirabell Palace and G...

We booked 2 month earlier from arrival, and the price was very good for a 3 nights stay. The location is between old town and train station with both 5-10 mins walking. Room is clean as other 4 star hotels, and everything is designed for guest convenience. You can also buy Salzburg card at the reception. All in all, it is the best hotel in our 9 days journey.

The hotel is about 15-minute walk from the Salzburg old town, and about 5-minute bus ride away. The room is the largest I have stayed in during my Germany-Salzburg trip. From my room, I have a very nice view of the Fortress Hohensalzburg and the mountain alps. Though situated near the Salzburg station and bus interchange, the hotel environment is quiet and peaceful.

Breakfast is the best in this hotel. and you can find a mini gym in -1 floor and it is good enough for travelers. but to be honesty location is not good but somehow acceptable enough. Guests may take bus #4 stop to any sightsee place in Salzburg. BTW, I loved the french windows of room, and it is beautiful to see falling snow from sky to earth. It is rare visual experi...

i stayed in this hotel for 2 night with family. we liked this hotel as the room was spacious and very clean. the bed was comfortable. the hygien standard of the hotel seems very good. we enjoyed the breakfast with quiet environment. staff was very freindly. hotel location is three stops away from the main station by bus. wifi did not work which was a bit disappointing....

We arrived late and the room is ready. There is the DVD Sound of Music playing in loop, and if you've never heard of it, one of the highlights of Salzburg is the Movie Sound of Music . So we got to watch it for free !! Bathroom and Bedroom is clean. the room is slightly old fashioned but the bathroom is definitely modern. It's only a short walk to the Salzburg Haup...

This place was everything my wife and I were looking for. A six hundred years old structure, with great modern amenity in the room. Owner has paid great attention to every possible details in the room. It was just amazing. Great staff will feel you at home from check in to check out. In the heart of Salzburg, close to sightseeing, river walk, restaurants, shopping ce...

It's an old house but kept very well. The room was clean and larger than expectation, and the location is very convenient, you can get to Mozart house in 3 min and Mozart's birthplace is just across the bridge. There's a small elevator so no need to carry luggage from stairs. The reception staffs are nice and gave us coupon for some restaurants, we tried a traditional ...

Although I worried the hotel is not in old city center when I made the reservation. in the end the walk from the hotel to old city center is a pleasant experience. we actually bought a lots beautiful souvenirs which I personally think a good reflection of Salzburg local people longtime acquired taste instead of those cheap stuffs for group tourist. I am glad we made t...

The Ibis Nord Salzburg is pretty much what you would expect from Ibis: A place to stay with little extras. What really annoyed me was the tiny space to hang a few (literally) pieces of clothes and no other hooks to hang coats. A long wall and not one extra hook. And this for a room with a Kingsize bed (typically for two people). The carpet has seen it's best days and ...

This hotel is on the other side of old town, where most of the attractions are. But it's only a 10 minutes walk from Schloss Mirabelle, of sound of music fame. Another 10 minutes brings you to old town. The staff is most accommodating. I made my reservation here several months ago. Later on I tried to find a single room for my friend coming in from Germany. It seems ...

Small and no frills hotel. Don't expect much from the hotel, just a place for a good night's sleep. Free breakfast buffet which serves a spread of bread, eggs, cereal, cold cuts and beveragss. Nothing fancy but it gets you filled. Not a great hotel, but it serves its basic purpose. Tips: -There is a chinese/sushi buffet next door and it is always crowded during dinn...

Decent cleanliness and facilities and very close to Salzburg Airport.. The only problem was when I tried to check in early, they told me to wait until 3 pm. That seemed reasonable, but when I returned at 3, it turned out that my room would not me ready for another hour. The excuse was that the hotel was busy that particular day. Most places I've stayed at can accommod...

The stay at this hotel was quite enjoyable. Its a very nice hotel with good clean rooms. the breakfast was quite awesome with a lovely spread. The only problem with the hotel was its location. Its a good 1km away from the centre of Salzburg and it was quite a walk till there. Also tried dinner at the restaurant at one of the evening and it was very disappointing.

We had some issue checking into the wrong room on the first day but the host Edith rectified quickly on the next day for us! She is definitely a very friendly, nice and accomodating lady. The apartment is very spacious, complete with everything we need, we totally hope we had more time utilising the facilities. The only thing we could raise is that the water is dismiss...

The room is unclean, cockroaches are found in both rooms. The radiators were not working either. Because so, we catched cold in the night. Here are some details. After we found both issues, we had been text communication with the host. After half hour, a lady been sent to check, who don’t speak English, naturely, we can’t communication. Cheap places to stay in Salzburg

I recommend at least breakfast here. It is traditional, homemade, and delicious. New visitor u can find it not easy to go but if u know the way it takes only 5-10 mins by walk from the main train station and 5 mins. to Salzburg' s river. If u take taxi from/to the train station will be 6 euro.

Everything wonderful, starting from the check in and free parking places. The rooms very comfortable, very nice bathroom with handtowel heaters. Staff at the receiption (a very kind lady originally from Russia) very very friendly. The breakfast was typical austrian city style, I enjoyed it very much.

In Salzburg we stayed for 3 days. I had no idea where to stay unless I found Star Inn Hotel, first because of free parking, second- price. A nice and lovely house, the host is very professional, it feel like you are entering a hotel instead of a bed and breakfast house. They have private lift although is slow but it works. Location of the apartment is 15 minutes walk to Mirabellplatz bus station, which is where the majority of the tour buses and public bus N.151 to Mt Gaisberg are located. Friendly welcoming and easy booking process. Love the idea of the room keep it simple and clean despite the small size. I found the breakfast also good gives more option. the location of the hotel is through the tunnel just above the old part of salzburg which is within a few minutes easy walking distance. it has a tram stop immediately outside with trams that run to the airport and to the railway station and to the centre of the city. breakfast at the hotel cafe is good and comprehensive but not exactly cheap. the staff are helpful and...

I had a very good time at Salzburg. The hotel is centrally located and is within walking distance to many key sights. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. Salzburg is a small town so staying at a hotel in a good location makes it all so easy and convenient.

We spend three nights in this great hotel. It is located perfectly, within walking distance of the old city of Salzburg and right next to the plaza where all the bus tours around Salzburg and into the country start. must go to Hohensalzburg Fortress, It have a great view of the city and your can know most history about the region.
It's a great place. A little city and easy to roam around. Great view, history and culture. Ill definitely comback in Salzburg in summertime.
It is a gorgeous city to walk around in, and one can see a great amount on foot. It was too cold (I was there in October) to stroll or cycle along the river, but that looked fantastic.
Salzburg is a compact city and one day is enough to explore the most famous attractions there. I would recommend visiting the greater Salzburg region.
Salzburg is a very cultural, artistic and romantic city. The path along the river is such a nice place to have a walk, or a run.
Salzburg is beautiful and small. 4 days is enough. The old town is beautiful but stay in the new town for convenience as you can reach the old town by foot and accommodation will be better.
With the Salzburg Card, everything is accessible, cheap and free! The Salzburg card is a must-have, Untersburg (part of the Alps) is a must-see.
Major tourist spots are located close together; parking space is within walking distance to major attractions.
Salzburg is such a beautiful town. There are plenty of sights to see - especially if you are a Sound of Music fan.
It is true Salzburg is a "Heritage City", "City of Mozart" and "City of Contemporary Muzic". You definitely need at least minimun 3 full days to find out true colour of Salzburg.
I love travelling in this city. Next time, I would find a hotel closer to the city centre rather than the train station which is quite a walk to the town.
A beautiful city with many landmarks and great cultures. Don't miss a tour to 'Sound of Music' movie making location and Mozart Museum.
Salzburg is full of history I love to wonderful through it's historic streets no matter what time of day or what the weather is like
its good to find a supermarket at the main train station. If u r not interested in paid museums or palace which would spend you quite a no.
A very beautiful and quaint city. Lots of things to do in the surrounding areas - go to the Lake District, Eagles Nest or the Salt Mines.
Salzburg is a beautiful city with lots of Baroque architecture. The Old Town is filled with history. There are wonderful churches and places to explore.
Beautiful City, Get Salzburg Card and travel around the city free ( entrance and public transport), must visit Untersburg Cable Bar
I like Salzburg. In fact, this is the second time that I visited this place. It's nice to walk around, listen to music and eat in outdoor cafes.
Been here a few times. Historical and pleasant mid size city so not much of city noise and traffic. Very romantic city and if you are a fan of mozart, this city is a must on your list.
Very pleasant city, loved the old town, the mountains. Its a place that has a bit of everything depending on what you want to do.
beautiful town the whole town is lovely walking thru' the town one can admire all the buildings and monuments one day was not enough for us the cable car ride on the mountains( about 20 mins by car) was superb loved the place
Salzburg has 2 area as new city and old city. The best thing that we can explore from the salzburg is the old city which is offerring very strong and well organize city architectur and view.
Most of the attractions are situated at the Old Town area. Mirabell Gardens and the Old Castle areas are a must go to places in Salzburg.
the country side around Salzburg looks very pretty from the bus, with all the mountains, lakes. If time permit, I would like to revisit there also.
What do you want to know about Mozart or salt here is the answer you will find, not only in the city center, but also the outskirt of Salzburg there are many interesting places to visit that you should not miss.
SALZBURG IS THE ICON OF THE SALT OF AUSTRIA, AND BEAUTIFUL TOWN AND FRIENDLY PEOPLE, IN THE OLD TOWN YOU HAVE TO TAKE TIMES FOR WALKING INTO MANY NARROW PATHS TO SEE AND FIND EVERYTHING YOU WANT, ESPECIALLY A MOZART BIRTH HOUSE AND RESIDENCE ARE LEGASIES OF THE WORLD!
Schloss Hellbrunn - A place full of water trick fountains, be prepared to get wet. :) Eisriesenwelt - Worthwhile experience to be in the Ice Caves, but not for those who loves photography as all photography and videography are prohibited inside which is a disappointment.
Absolutely gorgeous. the panaromic view is so pretty, you would stand there the whole day, at the castle on the hill.
Tourist paradise, and full of tourists. However, the city is big enough to accommodate the crowd. Unless you are into classical music, avoid the Salzburg Festival time when hotel prices more or less double (july).
Besides new town, old town, castles, churches, you can also visit the Salt Mine in Hallein. There are lots of things to see there.
