This hotel is located just right across the Okayama JR Station, and the tram station is just right outside the hotel door. AEON Mall, Takashimaya and Don Quijote are all within 5-8 minutes of walking distance. Room was considered quite spacious given this is Japan. We were able to fit 2 large suitcases, opened, on the floor with more than enough walking space. The room even had an air humidifier as it could get quite dry in the room due to heater. Breakfast was alright, they didn't have very many selections but we got a taste of local Okayama goods. Staff were really friendly. I wanted to make a reservation at a local restaurant but it was unfortunately full. The staff helped me to call at least 5 other ones, but no luck.. finally, the staff was able to help us make reservation at a restaurant he recommended. I forgot to get his name but I was so impressed with his patience and helpfulness. Will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying at Okayama.

We got a corner room with a sofa that could be turned into an extra bed. In general room was very nice with a small entrance area and with bathroom and toilet separate (great for family), but very close. There is a small space in front of bath/toilet which can be used for luggage etc. In general very very nice compared to price and the fact that this is a Japanese hotel. Baby cot really good. Japanese & Western breakfast excellent with really nice seating areas (traditional Japanese small rooms). We also stayed at a 5-star Okayama hotel later on our trip. Koraku was much better value-for-money.

Not only the hotel was centrally located but also very easy access to all the sightseeing spots. Tram or bus station for the castle is right in front of the hotel and just 5 minutes walk to JR train Okayama central station to visit a famous historical Kurashiki city(only a few stations away). The big corner room was also very clean and comfy with good view as we really enjoyed our stay. I recommend this hotel if you want top range hotel in Okayama.

It was the second time I stayed in Areaone hotel but this one in Okayama was slightly dusty and run down, for that price with well facilities in place and opposite to Mega Aeon mall and Donki, what to complaint nonetheless! It was a little far away from the train station but we are boys so we are ok. We travelled from Yonago, so we had lots of clothes to wash. There was a laundry room and next door to it were vending machines selling noodles and drinks as well as microwaves, with Aeon supermarket next door that was how we got creative when washing our clothes, especially the first day with heavy snow on the way and long delay, we were tired anyway. The bathtub was a little small as well. I like the most is the free coffee mix and green tea bags, of course, microwave! We had a pleasant stay. If you are one of those who needs to have a perfect hotel that treated you like a king, then this one is not for you. But if you are self-serving person like we are, then this one is quite ok!

Everything in the room is quite new. During booking, there’s only smoking room left. Requested for non-smoking and quiet room. And I got it when I arrive. There’s toothbrush & toothpaste and 1 piece pajamas provided. It’s not too faraway to walk from Okayama station. It’s also easy to walk to Okayama Castle & Korakuen (prefer Korakuen to the castle; if you seen too many castle, it’s ok to give this castle a miss). There’s many shopping places near the castle and near the station but all closes by 8pm it 9pm. There’s a ramen shop near Bic Camera, between a drugstore and Family Mart, it’s quite spacious inside and the ramen comes with a free raw egg. Remember to press for the free egg from machine when you order for your meal. The ramen is actually lesser but there’s so much meat. You can order a rice to go with it. The set meals are quite worth it if you are a big eater. The breakfast is simple with 4 variety of pastries, hard boiled egg (yoke is something like Onsen egg yoke), instant soup from Maggi (beef consume, corn, tomato), juice from Minute Maid, coffee and tea. There’s a nice view of the Main Street while you are seated down to enjoy your morning breakfast. I would not mind staying here again if I’m to visit Okayama again.

We were given a room situated on the 8th floor and the room was very spacious and neat. The staff were very accommodating as they helped to take care of our luggage even after checking out as we wanted to visit the famous tourist sites around the area. The hotel is also strategically situated just 10 minutes away from Okayama Station and 5 minutes away from AEON mall which makes things even more convenient for us.

I stayed a week in Japan, and my stay at APA Hotel in Okayama was by far my best experience. The room is quite large by Japanese standards and it's just a quick walk from JR Okayama Station. When you leave the central exit (towards the foundation), hang a right and walk straight until you see the hotel on the right (it's on a corner). The bed was extremely comfortable and there was free Wi-fi that actually worked! When I inquired about renting a bicycle, they knew right where to point me to. I would definitely recommend a stay here; we are a couple but I saw many families checking in when I was there. :)

It been fantastic stay in ANA hotel with good staff. I leave my luggage on high speed train on way to Okayama, and the front desk manager helped me to locate the bag from loss and found center, plus send the bag back in two days before I check out; is mission impossible according to train station officer. I would say it is best hotel to stay on the town if you are travel with family and children.

Okayama View has a good, central location, near Korakuen Garden & restaurants. However, it is rather hard to find, as it is located on a side street w/minimal signage in English. Lobby is on the 2nd Floor & one must enter the ground floor garage to get to the elevator to the hotel. Staff is very pleasant but the lobby & public spaces are dull, nothing special. Rooms are comfortable & well maintained. Overall, it is an acceptable option but a bit over-priced compared to similar places I have been staying in as I travel around Japan.

excellent location just a few minutes walk from Okayama Station. water dispenser available at the lobby that looks like a cafeteria. pyjamas available at the lobby too, in a sanitised wardrobe. but there is only 1 kind of pyjamas available (from what I saw) and it is a one piece, dress-like. room is very small (typical Japanese room size). for a 1 night stay, it was worth the money and time.

Hotel Excel - Okayama is situated in a very convenient position, just so handy to every thing one needs whilst visiting this beautiful city. It is surrounded by good restaurants all within walking distant, The Symphony Hall is just across the road and is well worth a visit. A grocery store that is open from 9AM until late evening has a good range of needs including fresh meals, liquor section and much more. The covered shopping street is adjacent and is a must see. The manager and staff of Hotel Excel are friendly, helpful and attended to any requests for anything from information on Okayama to any Hotel needs you may have. Views are fantastic , my favourite being to watch the castle , with a back drop of mountains behind it, appear each morning out of the mists at dawn and slowly become 3D - fantastic - I watched this happen everyday of the two weeks we were there. I do highly recommend this Hotel (and the Hotel Excel chain in other cities and towns in Japan).

We booked this hotel without knowing what kind of hotel it was. It's a hotel for short stays and although it has all the amenities it's very far from Okayama. When you arrive the staff isn't visible. The room has the windows closed although you can open them. The hotel page doesn't show what the room is like. From the Niwase Station you have 20 minutes walking through deserted residential streets and an industrial area. Near the hotel there is a Seven Eleven.

During my stay, there were unseasonably warm temperatures, causing the room to become unbearably hot. I attempted to turn on the air conditioning, only to realize there was no way to switch it from Heat to AC. Upon calling the reception desk, I found out that only the hotel could change it over to AC and as it wasn't June yet, they could not do anything about it. They did, however, bring up a fan to help cool down the room, but for the price of the room, I did not get the comfort I was expecting.

We were keen to visit Naoshima and booked things very last minute. Although costing more than other places, it was excellent. We arrived at 9am to leave our luggage and the friendly staff were there to take it. Just a word of warning, there aren't always staff at the Ryokan (especially during the middle of the day) so make sure when you book that they will be there when you arrive. The room was clean and had different paintings on each of the walls. The dinner recommendation was excellent and it only a short walk to Uno port. Everyone should try and go to Naoshima and this place is a wonderful place to stay (but maybe book directly through accommodation - they have and email - as seemed to be extra charges added on by Agoda).

When I was looking for hotels for my trip to Japan, almost all the hotels were unavailable except for a few capsule hotels and this. I booked a semi-double room and a single room which comes with complimentary breakfast. Most of the reception staff do not speak English and if they do, it's very minimal. Nonetheless, they are very polite. Some might find the single room tiny but I found the size comfortable. If you get a room facing the main entrance of the hotel, you may even catch the sunset. The bathroom is separated into wet and dry areas. The wet area has both a bathtub and an area for standing shower. The bath products provided are good enough such that I didn't have use my own toiletries. Bathrobes are provided but you will have to take it yourself from the cupboard opposite the lift at the hotel's lobby. Although the breakfast is 'simple' and the menu is pretty much fixed, it was filling and delicious. Depending on the season, there will also be fruits available too. I was lucky to have Japanese strawberries daily, which tastes naturally sweet with no sour notes at all. The coffee is good even though it's from a dispenser because the beans are grounded only when you select a coffee. The coffee machine will also be available from 4 pm to 9 pm, together with a microwave for guests to use. There are also a relatively wide selection of comic books (in Japanese) which you can read, two drinks vending machine and an ice dispenser. The hotel's location is very convenient and you can borrow bicycles from the hotel to cycle to central Okayama. It is also near Korakuen Garden and Okayama Castle. If you are bored of the hotel's breakfast, a 24-hours hyper-mart and a restaurant serving delicious handmade udon are just a 3 minutes walk from the hotel. There are many restaurants nearby too where you can satisfy your cravings for Japanese food. All in all, I greatly enjoyed my stay at this hotel and will definitely return if I were to visit Okayama again.

The hotel is located near to tram station, so it is convenient for us to wander around Okayama city. it is also about 7mins walk to the Okayama Castle and Okayama Korakuen from the hotel. The room is a bit small for us, however it is really nice and clean. The breakfast also good. They give free newspaper to the tenants too (i need this to update on my baseball stuff hihi). The staff are nice and always give great help.

This is Japanese culture at it's best. The rules are the rules. No underwear in the bath area. No shoes to be worn. Capsule area cannot be used 1000 - 1700. Check in restarts 1300. 150 Yen charge per night for large luggage.. The rules are what makes the place a truly Japanese experience. The sauna and spa were great. I stayed 2 nights and could use the locker and same capsule and locker for both nights which I appreciate as most other capsule hotels make you check out and recheck later in the day. Plenty of restaurants nearby and the station has plenty of places also. The capsule experience is one thing all westerners should try in Japan for at least one night and just put up with the rules. This is a great capsule hotel to try Japanese Culture. The capsule area was very quiet. The sauna and spa were great. I stayed 2 nights and could use the locker and same capsule for both nights which I appreciate as most other capsule hotels make you check out and recheck later in the day. Opposite Okayama JR Railway Station. Great for JR Rail Pass users. . Give the capsule experience a go and why sleep the same as you do every other night.

The hostel is about 10 minutes walk from Okayama Station. The front staff is very friendly and speaks fluent english, so communication won’t be a problem. They allow you to store your luggage at the lobby if you came early, so that’s a good thing. The room is kinda basic, and the bed is quite open (no curtains for the top deck) but it is acceptable for a place to sleep. My favorite part of the hostel is the lobby and the club jazz music they played which kept me relaxed and entertained until late night. Also I was quite lucky as they were hosting a staff party and I was invited to join in as well. Would stay again if I ever stop in Okayama.
