we arrived at the hotel after a long sri lanka tour and we were so relaxed once we realized we arrived one of the treasury boxes of sri lanka. we were welcomed with a refreshing fresh juice drink that was lifesaving after our tiring way from kandy to the hotel. our room was very comfortable, clean with nice colonial design. we just simply loved it. it was great that the hotel offers free dvd for watching in case you decide to stay in. they also serve a buffet dinner for a very reasonable price with a great variety of food and their a la carte menu includes a wide selection of meals. the beach in this is really beautiful and quite long, it is perfect for walking or running. in case you would struggle with the transportation i advise to use the service of the hotel as they can arrange for you good drivers with good cars. the paid price is definitely worth it.

It was just a short 4D3N at Weligama but it was one of the best place i've visited after being to so many countries. It was an unforgettable experience for us in Sri Lanka, and of course, the main reason is because of W15. All the staff are so friendly and responsive, the place is so clean n relaxing, people around are so helpful n polite. The staff's hospitality is excellent and not forgetting the delicious food served by the restaurant!

Really was one of the best getaways I have had in Sri Lanka. The property consists of four 3 bedroom villas. I booked a garden suite which was very tastefully decorated as is the rest of the villa. Even though another room in the same villa was occupied I had the feeling of having the whole villa to my self. All my needs were met. Great room, great bathroom, kitchenette, magnificent 40+ meter pool. The location is close to the busy Mirissa strip, but completely isolated from it so there is no hustle and bustle. Its very quiet and very private. The staff attentive and they do not try to over serve. They respect your privacy. I will definitely return.

My mum and I stayed here for 3 nights and really, really did not want to leave. Everything little was perfect here; in years of travelling across the world, I've never found such a perfect hotel. Room: Big and airy with a huge bathroom. All the little touches were on hand (water, robes, safe etc.) and it was spotlessly clean. Beds were super comfortable and the balcony with sweeping sea views and lazy chairs for reading was perfect. Amenities: A big swimming pool with comfy loungers, metres from a private beach. A bar with a good list of cocktails, wine and beer. We booked massages through the hotel and it was the best massage I've ever had (and I've had a lot). Don't leave without having one. Food: The 4 course dinner we had on the first night (to a backdrop of crashing waves and swaying palm trees) made us want to move in. Breakfast the next day solidified the idea. Staff: Always there when you wanted them, never there when you didn't. Everyone was helpful and friendly. Marnix's friendliness made us feel like we were happily welcome in someone's home. We ventured in to Mirissa once (5 mins away by tuk tuk)...next time we won't bother. Next time we go to Sri Lanka we're checking in here and not moving.

The hotel is almost 2-3km away from the Mirissa main beach, peaceful, quite and also easy access to the main street of Mirissa( if you have a driver, or its is easy to get a tuktuk) We was surprised when we walked into this place, very close to the beach and there were no reception area but a big open kitchen with a very friendly (and yet handsome) chef! We took the Ocean Suite which was very spacious and well furnitured. The welcome fruit basket is also well prepared. We tried the dinner ( the offer a buffet BBQ dinner at that night) but we decide to try something different, so we ordered 2crabs, on in chill and one not spicy(as my friend could not take spicy), which was soooooo good(the best I have ever had during my trip in Sri Lanka, I would say it can beat the Ministry of Crab in Colombo only that the later one has bigger crabs) The next day we order a seafood hotpot and a surf and turf( which we tried again the day after) was all very well seasoned and cooked. Normally the chef would talk to us to understand what we expecting and adjusted his receipt a bit, very customized dining experience. I would suggest that if you stay here (which you should) than you should have all your meals here and try different dishes, it would not disappoint you (we went out to the main beach for dinner one night, and I would say the food on the beach is nothing good nor special) Would like very much to recommend this place and maybe come back again with friends and family one day.

No1 Mirissa is a new, stylish and upmarket boutique hotel/guest house perched on the rocks at the end of Marissa Beach. The location is fantastic with lovely views along the palm trees and down to the surfers in the water. We stayed there after moving on early from the very disappointing Talalla Retreat. The design of the rooms is comfortable and elegant, with lots of billowing white fabric, nice shower rooms and hand made beds. Very comfortable. The food in the restaurant is tasty, well cooked and remarkably reasonably priced; breakfast is great and the coffee (Nespresso to order) is by far the best we had in coffee-ruining Sri Lanka! However, the standout feature of the place is the customer service and drive to get things right. The owner Scott and manager Su are a constant presence in the background, unobtrusively anticipating and attending every guest need. They are friendly and approachable, full of both useful information and enjoyable conversation. The other front of house staff are a little inexperienced, as we found with many of Sri Lanka's resorts, but invariably charming, friendly and really keen to make a guest welcome. To finish icing this lovely cake, No1 could make access to the beach more convenient, add a little more privacy across the balconies and perhaps provide sofas in the rooms to allow sitting in the air-conned coolness during the midday heat. A couple of small things like cotton robes and coffee in the bedrooms would sugar the cherry on top. As it stands No1, while by no means cheap, is a wonderfully relaxed, luxurious and friendly place to spend a few days; we highly recommend it as the best place we enjoyed in a month in Sri Lanka, and really wish we'd had more than 2 nights there.

The view from this hotel is amazing. we did a last-minute stay at this hotel and we need it 3 rooms. Because there was a little mix-up with our booking they upgraded us to a beautiful Seaview room. These rooms are spectacular. the staff was so nice and accommodating. The breakfast was very good. we enjoyed the fruit and they made special eggs for us by request. the pool was clean and had an amazing view. We also used the outdoor our dining room area and enjoyed that location also. it was too bad that it rained but and the surf was rough but we still enjoy the ocean. while they're the owner's son came on honeymoon and was met by the Kandy dancers and we got to see an amazingly beautiful dance ceremony. We wish we had found this hotel earlier in our trip. We only got to stay the last night of our time in Sri Lanka. Thank you to everyone at the hotel for an amazing reception and great visit!

Great hotel, very clean, large room with windows that brighten the room. Bathroom is large and very nice. Bed was large and had a firmer matress. Hotel equipped with Hot and cold showers, mini fridge, pool, and good air con. hotel staff was helpful, and very polite. breakfast was basic, but plentiful. The location of the hotel was fantastic especially for families. The hotels location is across the road from mirissa beach right at the opening of the beach. Takes Less Than 30 seconds walk to be on the beach. The bonus to be across the street is mirissa beach has large parties and staying right on the beach would make for a bad sleep. The only downside of the hotel is the wifi is slower. We found it worked better in the mornings for booking other hotels. The hotel also arranged a driver for our next stop. Would definitely stay here again.

This is a really quiet and nice place to stay.It locates in the jungle.The room is so great,the water was strong and warm enough.Two pools.SUCH A GREAT PLACE TOO STAY!The air is so nice up in the mountain.From here to mirissa beach costs 250 Rupees,but the Tuk Tuk drivers always want to charge at least 400 Rupees. Definitely need to bargain with them.Anyways, Lots of wild peacocks and monkeys.People who work there were really nice.They have two friendly dogs.So cute! Best view in Sri Lanka!

During our vacation through Sri Lanka, we opted for one night in Mirissa and Handagedara Resort, as we stopped in the area to go whale-watching. Our previous hotels were fine, but lacking in some of the finer touches, but when we arrived here, we found ourselves at a first-class establishment, with the details taken care of with a professional touch. Greeted warmly by the hotel owner, we were taken to our awaiting room, which in the hot Sri Lanka climate was cooled for our arrival with the A/C. The room was tastefully decorated and while a bit noisy (due to construction of a swimming pool), it was a welcome respite. The beach is just a three minute walk away and Handagedara employs a standout cook-we had lunch and dinner and all four dishes we tried were among the best we had on our vacation, which is saying a lot in a place where every meal was enjoyable. The last thing to say-Handagedara was a great bargain, the cheapest place we stayed in Sri Lanka while the service, decor, and professionalism combined for the best quality on our trip (and we didn't have any bad experiences with hotels in the country).

During my time in Sri Lanka I found the country beautiful and the people friendly, but perhaps with truly high-end properties still in short-supply service has generally fallen short of what I'd expect from say Bali or Tokyo. Having said that, the Marriott was the exception - while I found the pool area a bit crowded and had some other minor issues, the hotel's staff were beyond reproach. I had a particularly fond impression of Mr. Sandeep, the Executive Chef at Weligama Kitchen. On a related note, the food was also a highlight of our stay, we later visited Ministry of Crab in Colombo, lauded as one of Asia's 50 Best Restaurants, and while the crabs were stellar, the other offerings were possibly edged by what I had sampled at Weligama Kitchen.

- It was a pleasant stay at this resort. I will definitely come back here again & it's highly recommended to whoever who is going to Mirissa. - Location is strategic, the beach is just across the road and there are many restaurants nearby the resort - The host is very flexible in the sense that he allows us to have late checkout without any surcharge. This is really a plus point.

Brizo is a luxury hotel within a very short walk of Weligama town and beach. We had a warm reception with the clerks tending to our bags. Our room was luxurious and well decorated with all the amenities we needed. Secure storage, AC, separate shower/ toilet, balcony spanning two walls (floor to ceiling windows), extremely comfortable bedding and cushioning throughout. The TV could have been bigger given the size of the room. The restaurant on the 3rd floor served great breakfast (continental or Sri Lankan) and have a stunning menu with a variety of dishes to choose from. There are daily special set menus which are great value for money. One thing to be aware of is the added tax which is not mentioned on the menu or any easily readable place. It is a hefty 20% or so and added to the service charge of 10% you will be racking up nearly a third extra in tax and charges. This did catch us off guard a little when calculating our bill at the end of the stay (we had everything added to our room without caring much for the total of each meal on the separate occasions we dined here). Other services include laundry, tour guides, surfing lessons and a whole host of other services all handily listed in a welcome pack. We were fortunate in finding this place in the off season so we managed to get this room at a fraction of the peak price and for what we paid we were extremely over the moon which is why we were happy to overlook the additional taxes and charges for the restaurant. In fact we returned to this restaurant once more when staying in nearby Mirissa to try the dishes on the menu we had previously not tried as the food was really good (and received a discount!).

its nice small hotel owned and manged by srilankan family. mirissa beach is with in 1 minute walk. we had a nice sri lankan and European combined breakfast as per our request and was very delicious. owners and management are very helpful and would make sure you will have your holiday in style. Mirissa beach is very nice , you can do lot of water activities in day time and night there are lot of beach restaurants where you can chill out. it was a very pleasant stay in hotel vacanza and can recommend this hotel for a family with kids , you have bigger rooms with all facilities.

We stayed here for a few nights while finding a longer term place to stay, the rooms are large and spacious as are the bathrooms. They are modern, clean and comfortable. The restaurant is very reasonably priced and you get a lot of food for breakfast so it's worth getting breakfast included. The staff are sweet and helpful. This is Sri Lanka so don't expect perfect service as it's an island used to a slower pace of life. If you're happy to go with the slow flow you'll enjoy your trip to this beautiful country more. If you expect it to be efficient and fast like the west then you'll be disappointed. I thought this place was great value for what it is and often come here to eat. The Sri Lankan food is what they do best, I've never tried the western food apart from breakfast so can't advise on that.

First we came here for couple days. Now we've been here for a week and not hurry to leave yet. Hotel is right next to the beach which is great place to learn surfing. The hotel itself is quite new with simple clean rooms with air-con (if you want to pay little extra). Customer service is excellent which makes you feel safe and comfortable. Hotel has also new swimming pool which is good place to relax after surf day. Breakfast is also good. We highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a relaxing and quite cheap place to stay in Weligama.

The location is perfect - 2 min walk to the beach,turtle bay,coconut hill,a few dissent restaurants nearby , scooter rental near by . The hotel - we searched a-lot for a good hotel in mirissa beach and we found this one, the price is a bit too expensive but the other hotels were just bad. The hotel is new and beautiful, clean, the rooms are nice and clean and have a great shower. Love the pool and the view! Breakfast - is ok to start the day especially with no good breakfast restaurants in the area. Staff- amazing and helpful, upgraded us to a better room. Overall, I’ll come back for sure

Superb breakfast - best we've had in srilanka. Simple, family run hotel with wonderful staff, an excellent pool and a great range of books to read/swap. We have a top room with excellent AC and a ceiling fan and a balcony that looks over palm trees out to the ocean. Easy walk to the beach and we love that all the beach cafes have free loungers - great beach. The only downside is the water pressure and sometimes loss of hot water but it was such an easy, relaxed stay we returned for a further 3 days after visiting Galle. Mirissa ( and Esprit Dici) have been one of our fav places in Sri Lanka - relaxed easy beach vibe with a great spa (secret root) a short walk down the road

The stay at Latheena was fantastic. It was our first night in Sri Lanka (as well as first time in the country) and we weren't quite sure what to expect. Looking in retrospective, the room was actually the biggest we've stayed during out 11 days travel in the country; also very neat and clean. The beach is awesome - being in Weligama as opposed to Mirissa means you have a paradise to yourself without many tourists or even people around. They let us take the surf boards for free which was great! Travel to Mirissa by tuc tuc is a mere 5 mins away - there you'll find most of the tourists and beach restaurants. We had read great reviews about the food at Latheena and that was the only aspect of the stay that let us down. The menu is pretty much for tourists that don't want to leave their comfort zone and we were disappointed there weren't many Sri Lankan choices. Apart from lunch/dinner we had pancakes for breakfast which were incredible, though. We learned later that sometimes simply asking does the trick - especially for breakfast - as it takes time to prepare. Overall 5/5, thoroughly recommended.

We got to mirissa after a friend suggested us the place and we were not disappointed ! The place is located on the beach side shore and you can access the beach in just seconds.The staffs are really friendly and very helpful.The rooms are neat and well maintained with round the clock hot water and shower.The food is good but takes a bit of time to get given how the place gets so busy at night !Possibly one of the best place to stay in mirissa.Keep up the good work guys!

Loved our stay at Sea Star and Mirissa. The room was spacious and the view was incredible, spotting turtles below in the water. Great place to snorkel out the front, but visibility was poor when we went. The room was good but the ac and tv didnt work when we got there. The staff quickly and efficiently made sure everything worked before they let us settle in. A great place to base yourselves while in Mirissa.

Probably one of the best places we've stayed in Sri Lanka and this is our 2nd trip. A 5 minute walk from the main road and beach but this didn't affect our enjoyment of the beach. A very clean,well maintained property in a peaceful spot with the rear overlooking very green and lush agricultural land. Owner and sons very much hands on and are very pleasant with a good standard of English. Clearly care about their customers and business. Would highly recommend if staying in Mirissa.

We absolutely loved D Canal. The house is beautifully appointed and set in stunning tropical gardens. There are regular visits from wildlife including peacocks, monkeys, mongoose and kingfishers. Breakfast is fabulous and the free tuk tuk transfers to the main road is a great touch. We had such a relaxing stay at D Canal. I could move in! Would highly recommend to other travellers.

We were very happy by our choice of Lemazone, Inn as the place to spend two nights during our visit to Sri Lanka. The accommodation is barely 50 m from the beach and next to the most popular hanging out place, Zephyr. The rooms are decently sized, clean and the bathroom has a separate zone for the shower (this was missing at one of the places we stayed). Air conditioning is effective, though the wifi is sometimes patchy, perhaps caused by problems at service provider's end as my iPhone had the same Dialog 3G connection and both the phone and the accommodation connection used to suffer speed problems at the same time. They provide beach towels too. Choice of Sri Lankan dishes, eggs and waffles in breakfast. The staff are attentive, though they could do with a more structured welcome routine upon arrival. The landlady Mrs Ramani is a friendly and helpful person

We had a great stay at the Coral Beach Hotel. We actually wanted to stay for 2 nights only, but ended up staying for 6 nights in total during our Sri Lanka trip. The location is awesome, right on the beach. We had a seaview room, which was nice. The room itself is small and the bathroom could be cleaner, but as we didn't spend much time in the room that was fine. The room could be a bit cheaper though... There is wifi in the beach hotel, but it didn't work very well. For 2 days it didn't work at all, but why using wifi when you have the beach right there and the sun and the ocean. The restaurant has a great view, perfect for sitting there, having a beer and something to eat and watching the surfers. The kitchen was not always open due to the season. The breakfast was alright and - the few times it was possible to get lunch and dinner there- the food was also fine. The Hotel is at the end of Mirissa beach and it's kind of quiet, but all the other restaurants and bars are in nearby walking distance. At night you might hear the music of the nearby bars. The staff at the hotel was young and very friendly. Especially Schamila was great, he always gave his best and made us feel comfortable. Next time we travel to Sri Lanka we will stay there again for sure.
