Knysna hotels & places to stay

I travelled with my elderly mom. We enjoyed almost 99% of what this hotel can offer. The base was perfect for exploring the town of Knysna. The reception staff were polite & helpful- Clarence & Sandswa in particular! Breakfast was adequate & varied. However I do have to point out that if you are NON WHITE the breakfast staff will not pay you much attention. Be prepared...

Our stay was a treat from start to finish. The location, over looking the Knysna lagoon, is both convenient and yet tucked away from the main city bustle. From the moment we arrived Fish was efficient and friendly and the owners were a wealth of knowledge about the area and local activities. What a beautiful place to stay! The staff were friendly and welcoming. The rooms were spotless and the views breathtaking. This is one of the best places that I have stayed in a while and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Knysna.

Had a very enjoyable stay. Thde hotel was very clean and comfortable. The room was immaculate and well decorated and well stocked. The hostess was very friendly and helpful. We had our breakfast in our own balcony overlooking the Knysna lagoon. It was a superb experience for us. We strongly recommend this hotel.

47th on Howard is located in quiet area away from traffic. It's about 10-15 minute drive from Knysna waterfront. The property itself is very lovely. Our room was beautiful, airy, and filled with sunlight. The staff are friendly, polite, and helpful. Will visit again and recommend to friends if they are in Knysna.

The hotel is hidden away in the banks of the western head on a private residential estate. The Brenton Beach House ist very beautifully arranged. It allows for a nice view onto the coast and the sea. It has the most amazing views over the Knysna pier and its within walking distance to real good food. Its up 3 flights of stairs (without an elevator) so i dont recommend it to anyone with knee or mobility issues. Otherwise really clean and a great place to stay in Knysna!

Chris & Jenny were very nice hosts who are very passionate about sharing a peice of Paradise (Knysna) with the guests. Lovely guesthouse sitting on the hill over looking the bay. Large garden on grounds and well protected at night with gated car park and beams. Breakfast in the morning was plentiful and host was very friendly and helpful with recommendations on the local area.

We stayed 2 nights and we could not have been made to feel more welcome by Tess and her staff. Tess is full of knowledge about the local area and will advise of great places to go depending on your needs. We have stayed at many 4-5 star hotels around the world and this is very good value for money with a great breakfast included! Would definitely go back!

The accommodation is excellent. I've been to 22 Countries, and this ranks with the best. The staff were very professional, and the location is out of this world. We have fallen in love with this area of South Africa.

I am a well travelled person, but there are very very few places that could match Waterfront lodge in the World, let alone South Africa, for its welcome, tidiness, location and breakfast.i would not hesitate in recommending this property to anyone visiting the area, and would hope to return myself someday soon. Coleen and Cecil made us feel so welcome, wonderfully informed on best things to do and places to eat. Rooms comfortable and clean. Good points out way worries about road noise.

We enjoyed our stay a lot, beautiful and spacious rooms, great location with stunning views over Knysna, secure car parking, delicious breakfast in the mornings and the owner was very nice and welcoming. Fantastic stay overall! The bathrooms don’t have doors which is the only small suggestion for improvement.

Even though it was a self-catering apartment, house keeping came every day to clean our room. The apartment we had was huge (two stories), nicely furnished, so we felt very comfortable and enjoyed our four days in Knysna in a very quiet environment. Must commend the staff for their friendliness and willingness to help. The chalet was beautiful, clean and cozy. If you're staying on the ground floor, it can become a little bit noisy from people walking in the top chalet. Swimming pool which was free to use was the perfect temperature and hardly ever packed. Jacuzzi was great although we had to pay for this.

I was greeted at the gate upon arrival and immediately showed to my room (The Chrysler Room!), which was in a separate part of the hotel complex (apparently there's both a budget and a more "upscale" wing?). We a great stay with our 1.5 year old toddler. The house is very special. The balcony of the Sunset room is amazing.

Our room had a great view of the area, better than being down by the water. The owners are very nice and helpful, they showed us many things to do and gave us great tips on our trip.

My daughter and I were received by a friendly staff member, Innocent, on arrival. He is a credit to the hotel. The rooms were comfortable, well maintained and spacious. We enjoyed the breakfast with a view of the lagoon. The location of the lodge is great. We can only recommend the Leisure Isle Lodge to all fellow travellers.
