I strongly recommend that the male staff go on a customer service course. Crap service received! You are front desk/ concierge... a smile as guest walk into your hotel is standard practice! We request to book a taxi on Friday evening at 6pm and a male staff say sorry we are too busy! He hands me a card so I can call for one myself! What sh!t service is this? We are not...

Stayed here for 5 nights in the room with terrace, Location is slightly difficult to find, but its because we were doing a self drive trip, and couldn't locate it on the GPS. Otherwise, the location of the hotel is fantastic! Located in the heart of JIFF(Jeonju International Film Festival) square with tons of food, youngsters, and claws machine. You won't go hungry her...

Very happy with the way this place is kept. The music they play outside at night with the lighting and the landscape is a recipe for a very pleasant afternoon/ nightly stroll. The restaurant food was decent and price reasonable. Staff were more than accomodating and very pleasant. They have an onsite cafe/ convenience store also which is convenient. The room is clean ...

We stayed in a double room for two nights in January. It was very clean, modern and large enough for two persons, and has floor-heating, so we didn't feel chilly at all. A large TV, a water-boiler, free bottles of water and soft drink were available. Rooms are cleaned if you stayed more than two nights. For breakfast toasts, rice-porridge, soup, a few fruits and Kimch...

Great little place! The location is fantastic - just at the periphery of the Hanok Village so while everything is a walk away (5 - 15 minutes), it's also far enough to grant you some peace and quiet away from the crowds. Bonus: Jeonju river is right outside the gate and makes for an amazing morning walk, when the air is crisp and the crowds are at bay. I had the single...

The room is spacious and clean. I am sensitive to sleeping environment, but the beds are so comfortable and the air con is cold enough for me to sleep well. The beds are soft - contrary to the usual Korea beds that tend to be quite hard. The location is very good. It is quite near to the Hanok village and many other attractions. You can walk over, but if you are lazy...

My wife and I spent about a week in Jeonju during the film festival and spent our last 2 nights here after our original guesthouse wanted to charge double the price for the same room... because it was a weekend. NOPE. Wish wed found this place first... GREAT LOCATION. 5min walk to town... about 10 to hanok village. 7-11 across the road and lots of restaurants nearby ...

I have a short visit to Jeonju by myself after the business trip in Seoul. It is very famous place of traditional Korean house "Honok", and I have a good stay at In-Yeon Hanok for the weekend. The host welcomed me and she can speak very good English. She gave me some advices about some places to visit, a good cafe at rooftop, and also the light show at Pungnammun Gat...

There was some problem initially during check-in, not sure its the fault of Agoda or the hotel as we were told by the hotel receptionist that our reservation was canceled by Agoda although I have been charged by Agoda for the room. After about 20 minutes and showing the receptionist the proof of payment made to Agoda, he finally let us check-in and said he will settle ...

it is absolutely a good-to-stay hotel in jeonju! really no regret after trying their warm guesting manner! with delicious breakfast, comfortable, clean and safe room! with best location which takes us only five minutes walk to both suburban and express bus terminals! of course the bus stops are just nearby too reaching nearly most attractions in jeonju! however the pri...

This hanok was a great experience for us. It was clean, located right at the heart of the Jeonju hanok village. The host is a friendly couple. Although they couldnt really speak English, we tried our best to understand each other. Breakfast consist of black coffee, fruits and some traditional rice cake, which was served at the doorstop. The lady brought us to find a sh...

I went to Jeonju in March, 2017. Temperature there was about 0~13 degrees centigrade. I was satisfied with blue boats' infrastructure and sanitary. First, there is not only heating but also electric blanket under the quilt. There is rolling blind beside your bed. You can turn on/off light inside your bed. Next, floors were clean because residents are required to ...

The guesthouse completely exceeded our expectations! It was so much more cosy and beautiful than the pictures depicted. I travelled with another female friend. The room was spacious for the both of us with big luggages and had everything we needed for a warm night’s stay, especially with the rainy weather that day. The guesthouse is located right in the Hanok Village, ...

We booked two rooms for 4 adults. The room size is compact but big enough for two people with two big luggage. It is also surprisingly warm and cozy specially during the night when it was sub zero. The breakfast line is relatively small with slices of a few fruit served with bread and jam, though you can have as much as you'd like. But as it is also a cafe it means yo...

Very pleasant experience to stay in a traditional Bukyungdang Hanok Guesthouse. Lady Owner of the place is very helpful to my family stay with them. When its raining in the morning, she even offered a free ride to train station for us to catch train from Jeonju to Yeosu. She even recommend a nearby place, Mt. Maisan to us to go as our itinerary in Jeonju is abit long, ...

There were six adults, two toddlers and one infant. We rented two family rooms- one for 4 adults and one for 2 adults and the children. As is with all traditional hanoks, there was just enough room for all of us to sleep in a row and have our suitcases on one end. The towels and the bedding were all freshly washed and dried and the room was impeccable. They also pro...

Location was close to the main street of Jeonju. Room was big enough for 2 people and it was warm and comfortable sleeping in futon. We were initially worried about staying in Hanok during the autumn season where the temperature will drop at night but it was a comfortable stay for us. Affordable stay and great experience living in Hanok. I also enjoy their breakfast w...

The hotel is awesome! the managers (I assume he was, well at least he was at the counter). He directed us to the rooms immediately once we stepped into the hotel, without any hassle of checking in, waiting and all. There is a self-help snack bar, with free flow of ice creams/Popsicle and other things, drinks and all. Well, of course I do not recommend over subscribing ...

This would be my first Hanok experience in the city of Jeonju that I love the most. This place is not hard to find, plus the people of Jeonju are extremely helpful! Located just on the side of Jeonju Hanok Village, Saekdong Jeogori was one beautiful awesome Hanok! Those two Imos (landladies) were just so nice and make sure that we got as warm and comfortable as they ca...

We had a little trouble finding it - but more due to our own map misreading! Oops. Someone from the hotel very kindly met us and took us there, with a very late night arrival. The room was as the pictures - comfortable, clean, and good value. After our mishap, I would recommend taking a taxi there!

definitely value for money. if you can't get reservation at Ramada or a big hotel near han-ok maeul, this maybe the best u can find as it is clean and simple with most necessary hotel ammenities. no restaurant in the hotel but lots of eateries within walking distance. it is near night life so noise can be an issue although we didnt have moch problem with our fussy 3...

i traveled to jeonju on my own during the summer as a side trip out of seoul. since my korean is limited to hello/goodbye/thank you, i was quite horrified to realize that only 1-2 people speak english in jeonju. it took forever to figure out where i needed to go (make sure your directions are in korean--not english), but once i got there, it was amazing. as a young ...

The stay at Gaeunchae Hanok was really nice! The owner was super nice and he could speak english as well! At the start there are some trouble on the checking in as there was a mix up in the booking, but then the owner was so good that he really do his best to make thing settled. Very good place to stay at, the hanok is super nice and clean & new! I really recommend thi...

Drove from Seoul to Gonju and arrive after 6 pm at Jeonju. We stayed 2 nights as we planned a whole day at Jeonju Hanok Village. It wasn't difficult to find the hostel using the GPS in our car. The double room is clean and spacious for 2 pax. Hostel has lift so we need not struggle with luggages. I love the brand of shampoo provided. No coffee in the room but at least ...

I've read great things about the manager of this guesthouse, although he wasn't there when I went. That's okay though. A nice lady welcomed me to tell me about rules and all. She also helped me with the directions to the Hanok Village, which is just about 20 mins away on foot. Clean bed and bathroom, which had all the necessities - body wash, shampoo, rinse, hairdryer....

Strongly recommend this hostel in Jeonju. The rooms are spacious enough even with all four occupants having big luggage; there's separate bathrooms for men and women guests; the rooms were heated which is very much appreciated during the very cold early spring weather; the common room is clean and tidy. There's a cafe at the reception / first floor of the building wher...

I stayed at Jeonju JK Guesthouse (JK Youth Hostel) with last minute booking because I have unplanning stop over in Jeonju. Therefore, I booked online with the cheapest result since I'd only stay for 1 night and JK Guesthouse was the one. The hostel is located at big building on 4th floor for woman and elevator available. No locker and no socket on each bed, only at so...

Star Maru is a great place to stay for a couple days while exploring Jeonju! The dorm I stayed in was really clean and it was nice that they included soap, shampoo, conditioner in the bathroom. There wasn't always someone at the reception but they always came right out as soon as I called. They even let me use a bike for the day which was great to ride along the river!...

My stay was great! The owner is very nice, even if some of the decoration might be perceived as tacky, it made for a very welcoming hostel. The owner was the friendliest and most helpful in all my stay in South Korea. The hostel is so close to the hanok village too. Great - stay there! The only thing which wasn't a problem for me since I travelled with a liner but...

Trust me, you can get all wonderful things here with a little money. the dorm. is so spacious and all facilities such as beds, cottons, a refrigerator and so on are ultra clean. the owner are extremely kind. Carpe Diem is a small hostel, with two rooms and ten beds. I had an amazing experience here, in no small part due to the proprietor -- a young man named Boem who is a consummate host and never ceased to go out of his way to make my stay a memorable one. He took my hostelmates out to meals at several local hotspots, in addition to introducing us to the distinctly Jeon...

The Jeonju Tourist Hotel is perfectly located for seeing Nambu Market, the Hanok Village area, and Pugnam Gate with access to many shops and restaurants within walking distance. The guesthouse felt just like home. It was really clean and lots of facilities. The owner was extremely friendly. Even though we could not communicate in English (Her daughter was overseas), she tried her best and was super helpful. Even provided tips on where to go and what to eat around the area. She made me feel right at home and would definitely come back!

We stayed here to visit the Jeonju Bibimbap Festival. The place is located in the Hanok Village area of Jeonju and everything is in great walking distance around you. Parking can be a bit tricky (no parking on actual premises), but there is a free parking lot down the street that the owner showed us. Lots of food places around you. We had the room with a private bathro...

Really loved my stay in this guest house, was really close to the Hanok Village. It was a traditional hanok with the loveliest grandma and grandpa who despite speaking very little English, tried their best to communicate and made me feel very welcome. The place was also equipped with everything you would need for a great stay.

My first trip to Jeonju was a memorable one and its all thanks to 사장밈 and her husband😢 There’s so many things I’m thankful for throughout my 3 days in Jeonju. We booked a 2 persons room but were surprised when she told us that she upgraded the room to a 4 perso...

This hanok guesthouse is located in the Jeonju Hanok Village. Just tell your taxi driver to bring you to Yangsajae school. The owners/staff are really hospitable. Mystay is only 2-minute away from Hanok Village and is surrounded with good restaurants and shops. Our room was very clean and the owner made sure that it is cleaned everyday. Traveler impressions of Jeonju-si
Jeonju is my favourite city in Korea. It's the provincial capital of Jeollabuk Province, an agricultural province known for it's delicious food.
Jeonju very easy to get there, fr incheon by express limousine bus, then get off at terminal express, cross forward take a taxi 4500 or by bus intercity, get off in front of church katedran Jeonju.
not able to say much about the town as i was only there for one night. hopefully there will be direct bus to hanok village from express bus terminal and return trip.
In all my travels in Asia and North America the locals are the friendliest I've encountered from hotel staff, taxi-cab drivers, shop keepers, people on the street, etc.
Nice place to visit because its food its amazing, being also its people great. The Hanok village its nice but lacks a little bit of authenticity.
The Jeonju is the first of the food " BIMBIMBAP" , in the night they are close.. so You must the original of bimbimbab in the evening
Visit the Hanok Village to see traditional Korean builings that are still in use today. There are amazing cake shops and people sell home grown vegetables on the street in the evenings.
We were here for the Jeonju International Film Festival. The volunteer workers at the festival were friendly and helpful.
it is a fantastic place to visit and you can enjoy the traitional korean food there. It is an ancient and traditional place.
Apart from the Hanok village, Jeonju is nice for eating Bibimbap and the people are really friendly and helpful.
Very nice medium size city with lots of attractions around. Recommend to visit "Mai-san" (Horse ears mountain) which is just an hour from the city.
This place is very famous for its food and indeed the food are really delicious. You should try Bibimbap (mixed rice), 콩나믈국밥 (a kind of porridge with bean sprout, I don’t think it sounds delicious to me but it turned out to be savory, you should try), 한정식 (a kind of traditional Korean meal full of every kind of food you might think, you will feel like a King/Queen.
Great traditional Hanok village located within a moderately sized city. Great artisan goods, amazing food and tea houses.
Jeonju is city of slow, you should slow down your speed to enjoy delicious food and to know more about Tradition Korean Culture.
Good to stay there for 1 - 2 nights and then go to see red leaves at Naejangsan in end Oct to early Nov.
Can spend 1 day walk in downtown! Day and night is totally different there! Don't miss the night time! Romantic and impressed!
Overall, an enjoyable stay in a medium sized town/city, both within the town and on trips to outlying places, which were easily accessible
Jeonju-si is labelled as slow city. Yes, as compared with Seoul, its pace is indeed slower but I think most Koreans don't have the habit to take things slowly and you can still car-horns.
