Traveling to Myanmar? Find Inle Lake hotels

it was just right after a storm so most tourist in inle lake cancelled with almost most hotels in the area including this one, turned out we were the only guests. it was awesome since no one blocked any of the gorgeous views in the hotel and places around inle. the hotel is great due to location. it's located at major water way so lots of boats pass thru it. this might not be ideal for others due to the loudness of the motors but I'm a city girl so this did not really bother me. we stayed in the junior suite. great for multiple parties. give the AC time to cool off the room. overall I really liked this hotel. it was basic and simple yet it still provided the necessity I can't do without like ac, wifi, clean water.

We had a great time at ANANTA Inle Lake. By far it was the best hotel we have stayed in so far. The hotel is in a beautiful location with stunning views over the lake, but what made it really special were the people that work there. The rooms and premises were kept sparkling clean; morning breakfast buffet spread had a lot of choice and was healthy and equally delicious; evening meals were well prepared with fresh ingredients and very tasty; and the service from all staff was at a very high standard: waiters were all friendly - special shout to Phyo- attentive and warm hearted. But the absolute shining star was the hotel manager, Hlaing, who went over and above his duties in helping us with travel arrangements and making our stay as pleasurable as possible. Kudos to the whole team at ANANTA Inle Lake for making this place very special!

The hotel is amazing. The location is perfect. The only one minus - it was quite cold in the room since we were in cool season and the temperature was 16 C. Villa room has joist ceiling that is quite high. Due to big room space it was impossible to heat the room by air conditioner and we were freezing all the time. I suggest to take warm clothes like pullovers, jackets etc... This is one of the best hotels in Inle Lake in any case. You may enjoy your staying there even without taking a boat trip. The hotel territory is huge with small pounds, bridges and wonderful nature. I definitely recommend Inle Resort & Spa!

Inle Princess Resort is definitely one of the uniquest placed I've stayed. We were there for two days as part of our honeymoon and this is what I loved about it: - Totally secluded - From the pier, you need to travel by longtail boat for 30 minutes to get there. The ride itself is an eye opener as you'll see: floating gardens, stilted water villages, leg rowing Intha fisherman. Ie. Everyday life on inle lake - Resort surroundings completely natural -The resort itself is green, lush and full of vegetation, like being in the middle of the jungle. They have an organic garden and a small lake with floating lily pads. - Accommodation - We stayed at the lake view chalet which was spacious with high ceilings, outdoor shower and a great patio for chilling out, eating breakfast, seeing the sunset/sunrise. We enjoyed our private chalet very much. It lived up to the hype. - The local food was delicious. The dining room itself overlooks Inle lake so that is a treat in itself. Go for the local fare, like beef or chicken curry. - bike riding- we hired bikes and rode around the local villages, paddy fields, orphanage and vine heard for about four hours. It was scenic, wild, authentic and pleasant. Tips for travelers: - Inle Princess Resort isn't the cheapest place around, but it is an experience - As with many places in Myanmar, Internet is spotty - Hotel tours are expensive so we hired a water- taxi and a full day boat tour from an external vendor which cost 10,000 kyats one way, and 18,000kyats respectively. (I'm sure you can get a better price if you bargain hard) - Inle Lake is a MUST see if you travel to Myanmar - no swimming pool or gym Enjoy your stay, we certainly did!

This is an amazing hotel in Inle lake. The staff were very nice and helpful. The rooms were also very nice. They upgraded us to a pool side room which was nice. the pool was very clean and the breakfast was great. There's so much food for breakfast that I feel bad I couldn't finish all my food. The staff was very friendly and helped arranged for airport pickup and drop off. The location was central, everything was walking distance.

Viewpoint Lodge really is a lovely place, honestly. The staff is great, the rooms were quite lovely and the cuisine was wonderful. In the bathroom they have a sample of some local materials to give yourself a mini spa experience - like thanaka, bark sap used for shampoo, etc. Very cool. It was also cool to get the breakfast buffet, because they made sure to give you a sample of a bunch of local dishes and mixed fruit coupled with some European breakfast foods (the owner is French). Very tastefully done. I wasn't in Inle Lake for too long, but I could see that they had a bunch of great, pre organized tours and experienced for everyone from solo travelers to family. The staff was wonderful as well - they helped me to book transport back to Yangon, as well as helped me get a boat to explore utterly stunning area that is Inle Lake. Seriously, this is one of the most stunning places I have ever been to. Unfortunately, the location is just rather noisy. I expect it was at one point very quiet, but over the course of the past few years the roads have really become a lot busier and it interferes with the peaceful atmosphere of the place. But the rooms do have some noise cancellation, so that's okay. The internet is unfortunately limited to the hotel lobby as well, but I think they're in the process of changing that. Was also a treat to receive a local fruit bowl every day! Would come back for sure, just hope they'd do something about the noise.

My husband and I booked the Novotel Inle Lake hotel while we were in Yangon. Somehow I had issue with the booking dates and had difficulties connecting to Agoda UK and U.S for assistance. The staff at Novotel were patient in handling my case and assisted to liaise with Agoda Singapore to make the necessary changes. We were very thankful that we managed to checked in. Novotel Inle is located at a great location in Inle with key facilities around the vicinity. Its near the longest wooden bridge in Inle, 10-15mins bicycle ride, 40mins away from the Red Mountain Winery by bicycles. Novotel provides the free bicycle. You can gain access to beautiful sunset at their sunset restaurant, pool, table pool, board games, gym etc. The place is very neat;y kept and peaceful for a beautiful and cosy stay. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to visit this place again.

We are travelling as a family from NZ for 4 months throughout SE Asia and had read the reviews on this hotel it's perfect in every way The breakfast was awesome the best we have experienced so far on our travels ,they organised a boat trip for us on Inle lake suggesting where to go and nothing was a problem for the staff! There is a huge amount of building and development in this area as it's chasing the tourist dollar and if you like high rises you will find them opening up Nov 2015 but if you want to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere this hotel offers with no (in room TV ) you won't be disappointed it's a real gem and is something pretty special.Wifi is available. its located slightly away from the main roads and offers an array of good eating establishments within walking distance. The daily market is a easy 10 min walk into the shopping area. Relax and enjoy as we did.

By any standard, Sanctum Inle delivers an excellent experience from the meet, greet and transfer at the airport, the welcome on arrival and buggy transfer to the room and through the whole stay. A lot of thought has gone into the design of the resort which is only 2 years old. It exceeded our expectations, which are quite high. Our room was at the far end of the resort on the top floor with a balcony providing excellent views across the lake including great sunsets. The room was excellently appointed and spacious with good lighting which is often a weakness of hotel rooms. The food at breakfast and for evening meals was excellent - fresh, well presented and well cooked but the menu could be a bit restrictive for a longer stay. The infinity pool is a good size and great for relaxation. The highlight was undoubtedly the boat trip around the lake - we were circumspect abut floating markets thinking we had 'been there , done that' elsewhere in Asia. Inle Lake is different - we chose a half day tour and covered a lot of villages and crafts - silversmiths, cigar making, lotus weaving, boat making, umbrella making, as well as the inevitable monastery and pagoda. It was relaxing, there were no hard sells and the whole trip was memorable and a real pleasure.. Our boatman was excellent and took great care of us. You could probably find a cheaper boat trip from the nearby village but I am not confident that you would receive such an excellent experience - USD25 total, not per person, was brilliant value. If we had stayed longer we would likely have eaten more in the nearby village, where there are some good basic restaurants - e.g. the Inle Palace restaurant (bright green and yellow painted bamboo structure) halfway across the wooden bridge in the village. Overall, the staff were exceptionally attentive, friendly and helpful; the one exception was the GM of the Hotel who seemed disinclined to engage - which was surprising as the foundation for such a great se

Since I booked during the off month, my request for early checkin of 6am was accommodated. I was able to explore Inle Lake as early as 7am when the heat was not that scorching! My time was maximized. I felt like a VIP. Every time I left the hotel, the staff lined up and greeted me with warm wishes. You need an ATM? No worries as this is a feet away from the hotel. At the next corner, there is another bank which has an ATM and a money changer. The location is very convenient, your motor banca is just a street away! When I checked out, there was a heavy downpour and I cannot locate for a motor taxi going to the bus terminal. The receptionist was helpful enough to radio their hotel driver who drove me to the bus terminal! I was there before the bus left for Bagan!

I can not praise Thahara Inle Heritage Hotel enough. I planned to propose to my girlfriend months before we left for Myanmar. Leading up to the trip I was still unsure how I would do it. I contacted a manager at Thahara for help and she was my savior. She helped me plan a private boat tour along the Inle Lake, private candlelit dinner in their hotel terrace and also transportation to and from the airport. Everything worked out better than I could imagine. The boat tour was perfect and during sunset I popped the big question! She said Yes! We then arrived at the hotel, changed and prepared for dinner. The hotel set up such a romantic, private, candlelit for us and it really took our breaths away. Keep in mind that this was a special request from me during this important time for me and my fiancee. They never once asked for any extra charge for their efforts and served us with smiles! I was just amazed and taken away by the great service and planning that this company went through for me! I can not say enough good things about this hotel and there is no other place I would recommend to friends who are looking to go to Inle Lake. Thank you so much and best of luck and success to you! This new hotel has everything, huge rooms, great restaurants, cool swimming pools, great spa and great views.The price suits the high level of the hotel. You can get boat and market trips to close locations and even though the airport is not close the distance gives you an unique location. The only negative comment is for the boat driver that didn't wanted to go to the Indein temple and tried to get us convince that was too far.Luckily we didn't listen to him and made him go because is one of the best places in the lake and is just 30 minutes away form the hotel. This hotel is a must if you go to Inle lake.

The hotel has two sides. We stayed in a beautifully decorated family villa on the garden side. We had some problems with our tour operator when an airport taxi that we had booked did not arrive. The staff and the manager were very helpful and made a series of phone calls to get us to the airport on time - even as far as calling the airline to let them know we could be late. The setting of the hotel is lovely. There are two bars and two restaurants. The morning breakfast was excellent. I would definitely recommend this to anyone travelling in the Inle Lake area.

The place is very comfortable! What makes it unique is the staffs in the hotel. They are so friendly and helpful. Also, the place is close by to all the attractions at Inle Lake by boat. But it is far from the mainland town Nyaung Shwe, which is the main access point to Inle Lake. You need a boat to ferry you around. If you want to stay close by to the lake, this is the place. But if you want to close by to all the amenities and restaurants, this may not be the place for you. Although many had complaints the noise level from the boat, it is part of the experience of staying just right in front of the lake. The only thing that surprise me is the power outage as well as the water quality. I think it is best if the hotel staffs can inform the visitors about the frequent power outage in the town so that no one get shock. Also, there are some unpleasant smell from the water in the toilet (metallic smell).

Aquarius Inn is one of our best stays in Myanmar. The hotel is great! Especially the warmly and genuine friendly staff is something you dont find everywhere. The breakfast is different every morning, home cooked and of great taste. Offered with a great smile! One evening I told them that tofu noodles soup is my favourite birmese breakfast and they got us exactly this fresh from the market the next morning, so special. It really felt like home. The rooms are also very spacious and the beds are really comfortable. Our rooms had lovely balconies where we could relax after an active day. The place is just special and has real character, with the family's (or fathers) huge collection of traditional stuff that hangs everywhere. The garden is a real oasis where they serve free tea and fresh watermelon in the afternoon. The hotel is also just a few steps away from a great bbq place and near the nightmarket. All in all the place to stay when you are in Inle Lake. Thank you for the great stay!

This hotel definitely added to our amazing experience in Inle Lake. The staff were so friendly on arrival, and made us feel welcome. We arrived at 6am on the overnight bus, and they let us check in early which was really great of them. I had food poisoning at the time so it was a relief not to have to wait until 2pm that day! We used their bikes for free to explore the lake and surroundings, really nice added value! The hotel was also close to nice restaurants and bars within walking distance. The staff went out of their way to help us, especially when we had to book a last minute bus to Mandalay. I can't thank them enough! The breakfast was great too! The room was so spacious and comfortable too, and we got an extra heater for the room to keep us warm! I'd highly recommend this hotel! Would definitely stay again if we could!

Super attentive staff, spacious rooms, comfy pillows, delicious breakfast and large, hot showers. For the price, this new resort can't be beat. Although it's a bit outside of the town, it's an easy 5-10 minute bike ride (the hotel loans bikes free of charge) anywhere in the small town. The staff members were all wonderful- helping us book our inle lake tour, offering a late check out and bookongnour taxi ride back to the airport! Would highly recommend to anyone staying in the area - thank you Mount Inle staff for having us!

The hotel is located mid-way down the east coast on Inle Lake - having traveled to Myanmar's biggest and most beautiful Inn Daw Gyi in Kachin State twice I wanted to avoid the mainstream crowds that throng around northern Inle Lake. For the kid of traveler who likes solitude, serenity and something special GIC Thale-U hits the spot perfectly - the location is tricky to reach by car (most come via boat which would be advisable for most) - I had driven up from Yangon via Napyidaw (not worth bothering with) so make sure have GPS handy to get you to the hotel. The hotel does have a simple guest house for your driver should you need it. The room (215) was outstandingly beautiful - the furnishings and finish quality excellent with a private balcony over looking the lake to the west (sunset). My only real complaint is the quirky gas water heating they used which was not ideal when the gas runs out and your in the middle of a shower! Also in Dec (to Feb) it is cold - low teens 'C, so make sure have some warm layers - the room itself has more than adequate cozy bedding. Wifi was OK too. NB: There are no TV's in rooms - great but some may feel lost for entertainment. Restaurant was very good IMO - not cheap but decent value for money and staff friendly and attentive on the whole. NB: For USD 430/person you can now take a balloon ride over Inle Lake - it's run by the same guys who do the Balloons over Bagan for half the price - why so pricey not sure, but if price dropped a little I'd be very tempted - and if your going to splash some cash this would be highly recommended.

We were allowed to check in early (we arrived from Pyin Oo Lwin by bus at 4.15 am, and they let us to get into and use the room at around 5 AM. There were 4 other people coming around the same time like us, and they also had the same treatment). The price that they gave us were good (we had the whole day boat trip to Inle Lake for 22000 kyats and 20000 kyats for a taxi ride to a hot spring and local village with several home industries. The taxi driver also took us to buy local honey and mustard oil). Try to have lunch or dinner in Thanaka Garden which is only about 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The manager recommended us to go there for a meal and we went there twice since the food was super delicious!). The breakfast from the hotel was great! However, when we were trying to have hot bath after a tiring journey in the bus, their hot water wasn't working (or run out... ?) . It worked fine when we had hot shower though. The price was slightly cheaper when we booked online.

This is the best hostel in the area for backpacker for sure! I traveled in group of 5 people. I took the night bus from Bagan to Inle and arrived so early (at 5AM). Everyone was so tired during the long bus trip (because the road was so bad so we could not sleep), luckily Ostello Bello has the shared room for every guest who come early to sleep when waiting for check in so that our group can sleep for few hours in early morning for the rest. The room here is clean and has very beautiful decoration. The location is perfectly in the central of the town (2 minutes walking from bus station and 2 minutes to the boat port for boat trip in Inle lake). Staffs here are so friendly and so supportive, especially Dan - American guy (special thanks to him by his support). Highly recommend!

I did an extensive search on hotels in Inle area before finally booking Amata Garden hotel. I have absolutely no regrets. It's a fantastic hotel. The villas that we stayed had everything needed for a comfortable stay for a few days. We stayed two nights. I wish we could stay longer. The boat ride to the hotel was a great introduction to a great place. If you are visiting the hotel for the first time I highly recommend to take the boat even though there's road access. Arrangement of villas in the land adjacent to Lake is commendable. Restaurant is tastefully designed and serves good food. You can make the hotel a base to explore the Inle Lake area, particularly by boat. You will experience ethereal beauty in early morning and evening. You will get a glimpse of the traditional life of this interesting community living practically in the lake. Don't think twice if you feel like reserving the villas of Amata Garden.

We like this hotel very much. It's very new and everything is nice and very clean. Buffet breakfast is good. About 10 mins walk from the pier. Many restaurants and massage places near the hotel. The only problem is WiFi is weak if your room is located on higher floors. Our room was in 301 and we had to stand at our bedroom door to get decent WiFi signal. Great value & we'll stay here again if we return to Inle Lake.

I have traveled and lived in Myanmar since 2012 and Inle Lake View Resort and Spa was by far the best hotel I have stayed in. We stayed here during a visit of my parents who were celebrating their 54th wedding anniversary. We had two adjacent rooms on the top floor of the main building and the views of the lake and Shan hills were spectacular. We loved the dining experience for both the food and the service. The hotel arranged a driver for us to visit into Nuangshwe and the winery as well as a boat tour of the lake. On the first night, we returned to find "Happy Anniversary" written out in flowers on my parents' bed. We were impressed by the organic farm. The resort's attention to eco-friendly efforts (no a/c, but adequate cooling via ceiling fan and screened windows) are refreshing here in Myanmar, and particularly appreciated in the biosphere region of Inle Lake. The kindness of the staff and quality of service was beyond our expectations. We will definitely stay here again on our return.

Great first impressions. At the top of the town, but easy walk to restaurants and a longer walk to the boat dock for lake trips. Bridge over canal leads to the outside reception and rooms all facing on to the garden and canal. Large comfy room with an absolutely huge bed! Friendly staff helped us re confirm flights without a charge. Early breakfasts allowed us to eat before leaving for early flights and an interesting choice available. A really nice place to stay while visiting Inle lake.

Pros: 24hr service (?), amazing breakfast (weekend options vs week buffet), hot shower water (wait a minute), appears clean, pool if you like, wifi, air con, even dormitory has privacy with curtains between every bunk bed. Cons: wasn't exactly sure how they charged me because I paid through Agoda but they also wanted kyats?, Power is out half the time, toilets struggle to flush, sink, toilet (and shower?) water turns brown (when power is out?) I arrived at 4am from a night bus + taxi service and the metal gates to the drive we're closed but unlocked apparently as the driver just pulled them open. We walked to the entrance which is beyond the individual room buildings and after knocking and waiting someone showed up and let us in. I checked in and asked for first aid as my right ankle was swollen up and impossible to walk on (here I learned the staff's English is mediocre at best). Ended up booking an additional night as I took the day off to rest before exploring Inle lake.

The hotel is awesome, we arrived at 6 am and the girls of staff let us check in early. The room is really good,clean towels sheets everything was perfect. The girls of the staff are wonderful always with they beautiful smile, friendly and helpful to answer all our doubts, they where really wonderful with us. Breakfast it's really good. After check out the let us use the shower and lend us towels, soap and shampoo. Maby the only bad thing is that the wifi is really slow but we have to realize that we are in Inle Lake so it's not a problem. I definitely recommend the hotel we would come back for sure!

We loved our stay at this hotel, and in Inle Lake in general! The hotel arranged a lot of fun stuff to do, including our boat tour, and loaned us free bikes for our bike trip around the lake! The views from the upstairs restaurant were unreasonably gorgeous and we loved basking in them with the free breakfast every morning. The room was comfortable, clean and airy and the bed was lovely. And the TV channels were great - we caught a movie in English every night, including Argo! The staff were really sweet and attentive to our every need as well - they even have a welcome sign out front with the name of every visitor checking in that day! Really fabulous stay. Watch out for the elevator though - no closing sensors so you better step out promptly when it tells you to!! Haha. Tip: While you're in Inle Lake you MUST do the cooking class with Myo Myo through the Linn Htet restaurant. Best meal I've had in my entire life. Must!!

This resort lives up to its name "sanctuary". It's located in Sankar Lake which is connected to Inle Lake by a narrow passage. The boat trip to the resort, although long (3 hours), is a scenic ride and well worth the time. Once you arrive you would be greeted by the owner Aung Min and his lovely staff. Before we even met Aung Min went out of his way and bought baby nappies for us in the nearby city - he is the best host. The bungalows are absolutely world class and situated in the most surreal setting - each equipped with a balcony that looks over the lake. Sankar Lake is not a touristy area (yet) so there's no other hotel nearby and very few tourist motor boats (unlike Inle Lake). To pass time, you can simply walk to the nearby village, take trips across the lake, peddle the canoe, watch local kids diving or read a book on the balcony of the bungalow. In fact time will pass without you realising it. For the first time in many years we saw sky full of stars. Truly magical. James

This was definitely a great experience when travelling to Inle Lake region. The moment you walk in the lobby you are greeted warmly and made to feel special. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and ready to help. The personalized touches were nice and not cookie cutter typical hotel. This really felt like an experience. My room was very comfortable, large and clean. The hotel welcomes you to your room with a personalized greeting card on the bed. Throughout the resort you saw unique decorations, pleasant lighting, friendly staff and a very tranquil atmosphere. The restaurant was nice, clean a decent selection of items. The hotel can provide a boat tours right from their direct access to the Inle Lake canal. I rented one of their mountain bikes for a half day ride around the lake. The walk to town was 10 minutes. Overall it was a great experience.
