the granvia hotel in hiroshima is located directly outside the station and bus terminal which makes arrival pleasantly easy. the staff are extremely helpful and polite and the rooms are clean and of decent size with nice views of the city and surrounding mountains. below the hotel you will find an excellent range of restaurants. for those who do not mind spending some time on their feet, the granvia is within walking distance to the hiroshima castle and peace memorial museum - the latter being an absolute must for any visitors to hiroshima.

This is positioned rather as a Budget Hotel in Hiroshima, and indeed you will have slightly less amenities or facilities as a luxury hotel, however all basic standards for cleanliness and safety are met at the highest level. Staff very professional, speaking English and friendly. The building is and "feels" new, rooms feel fresh and modern, if not very large very well designed to optimize all space and have all comfort a traveler needs (power sockets with adapters and multiple USB sockets throughout the room, comfortable bathroom with all amenities, slippers, etc.). We would definitely stay again, especially given the unbeatable value for money.

The hotel has fantastic staff who are always helpful and always cheerful. Check in and Check out process were fast and smooth. Rooms and the bathrooms are clean. The Japanese breakfast options in the breakfast buffet are good. They western selections are limited. The hotel provides a free shuttle service from Hiroshima railway station. There is also a city bus service that stops in front of the hotel. However the shuttle takes about 30 - 40 minutes and the city bus takes about 55 mins to 60 minutes from the railway station. In the evenings, it is best to take a taxi from a taxi stand as we spent a significant amount of time trying to hail a taxi from Moto-Ujina-Guchi on the Hiroshima electric railway stations. We ultimately walked about 1.5 kms to the hotel since none of the cabs were willing to stop. Bottom line - great hotel with great rooms and service and a good Japanese breakfast buffet but a little out of the way.

for my whole stay in japan, this hotel deserves the top rank for a budget to midrange hotel. the room is not too crowded. just what i expect from a hotel. best value for money. also, the only hotel that confirm my online booking and reserve a non-smoking room for me through e-mail. also has a good access in the major tourist spots in hiroshima. just within 1km distance to hiroshima station, peace memorial park, chuo park, shukkeien, and hiroshima castle.

This is a Very Convenient hotel near all major sighteseeing spots in Hiroshima. Comfortable rooms with excellent breakfast buffet (delicious !) but same food every day for the last 6 days. Our room at high floor overlooking the Hiroshima Castle and the city of Hiroshima, which was excellent and splendid. The location is 2 mins walk to Hiroshima Bus station which has all transportations needed to all the japan major cities and airport express. The hotel is near to Sogo and major shopping arcades. The one weakness is that only 2 electric plugs available in the room. Other than that the hotel is excellent.

This APA hotel is a new APA hotel in Hiroshima (they have another one nearer to hiroshima station) and it can be hard to find if you do not know how to navigate the underground exits from Hiroshima station, though once you get there, it's actually relatively easy. Staff was able to speak English and were kind and helpful. The room has a big TV and everything was clean, tidy and in place. There seem to be Hiroshima delicacies available for takeaway right at the hotel lobby restaurant, though I did not try. Highly recommend this place.

This hotel was sparkling new and absolutely gorgeous. Although we arrived late a night, the front desk staff were very helpful and even accommodated a change in room type for us. Staff spoke very good English and were helpful throughout our stay with suggestions and baggage storage. Breakfast, although a bit pricey was delicious with a great selection of both Western and Japanese foods. They even provide "to-go" cups for your drinks! The room was on the smaller side (totally normal in Japan), but it's thoughtful layout and comfortable bed more than made up for it. A kettle, with coffee and tea was provided as well. The rooftop Onsen (spa) was the star of the show and both times we used it, we were the only people up there. Since we both have tattoos we were a bit worried, but it was never an issue. Both the men's and women's spas have an outdoor onsen that overlooks the Hiroshima skyline but is still private. Amenities are plentiful and top-notch. We would absolutely stay here again!

This is an excellent hotel and one couldn't really ask for a better location within Hiroshima - it's within easy walking distance of the Peace Memorial Park, Hiroshima Castle, Hon-dori (the main shopping arcade) and, of course, the A-Bomb Dome. It's also well connected by city trams - two stations are very close - and it is very easy to find. JR Hiroshima Station is roughly 20 minutes by tram, and trams leave in every direction every four or five minutes for most of the day. As a result of this, you'll have no problem getting around Hiroshima from here. The staff are very friendly and helpful and if you don't speak Japanese there is always at least one English-speaking staff member on call. They'll be more than willing to help you get around and see things. Free internet is available in rooms but it's wired-only, unlike some of the other Dormy Inn Hotels in Japan - however, there are desktop PCs in the lobby and a printer is available. The public bath on the top floor isn't half bad, either, for those of you who enjoy the Japanese Onsen/Sento experience! If I had one criticism of this hotel it would be that it seems rather old. There are stains and imperfections on the walls and some of the furniture is a bit worn out - although I must stress that like most Japanese hotels it is impeccably clean. The rooms are about standard-sized in Japan, but they are somewhat smaller than Western rooms, too, although they are by no means cramped and are very comfortable.

First time booking 3pax room in hiroshima. It is AMAZING! Firstly the toilet room is separated from the shower area, so we won't fight for the washroom at night and morning. The most amazing is that it contains 1 stand up shower room and 1 separated Japanese style shower room. Therefore, at night we can have 2 pax shower at the same time but separately in two shower rooms. And the third person can also brush teeth and wash face at the sink also at the same time. That saves a lot of time when 3 pax travel together. Room is super big and the hotel provides free drink (coffee and tea) at lounge every night. It is also very close to the shopping and restaurant area in Hiroshima but definitely not noisy at night as it is around 3-5min walk away from the crowd. Although it is not close to hiroshima station there is a circulated bus line right in front of the hotel, very convenient! As soon as you stick with the bus schedule, the time is completely under control.

I like the hotel service and location. This is the first hotel that we stayed for our trip. After a very long hour travelling from singapore and transit at KL, then took the bullet train from osaka to hiroshima and transfer to local train to majiyama station, it was very tired. Fortunately, the hotel is located near to the majiyama station. We arrived there about 12pm, just did the registration and they will helped us to transfer the luggage to the room. Location is also near to the ferry terminal, just few step in front of hotel, best recommandation for those who like to visit majiyama island. Besides that, I like to enjoy their breakfast although not many choise (compare with 4 or 5 star hotel), but the food was nice.

Stayed here on our honeymoon and selected this one for its proximity to the Peace Park. After a bit of misunderstanding on arrival (I had accidentally selected 1 adult when booking) we were checked in with minimal hassle. The room was great and was our largest sized hotel room of our whole time in Japan. The location is what makes this hotel, the light rail stops pretty much right out front and from there you can get most anywhere you would want to go as a tourist in Hiroshima. I would highly recommend this hotel to any other travellers, especially couples.

This was our favourite hotel during our 3 week holiday in Japan - we loved it over Hilton Shinjuku and Hyatt Regency Shinjuku. We stayed in the king room with view and it was magnificent. The room was spacious, functional and nicely decorated. I couldn't find a fault. The hotel also connects to Hiroshima Station via a newly built bridge that can be accessed from L2 of the hotel. And you can also easily access the JR Loop Bus on G floor - which takes you to Atomic Dome site and other places of interest in Hiroshima (covered under JR Pass). Everything was on-point from service to the amenities. I wish hotels were more like this in Japan in terms of the room size and comfort. I would gladly stay here again if i visit Hiroshima.

Had an amazing time at Hotel Miyajima Villa. The location can't be beat as it's directly in front of the ferry terminal. The rooms are very spacious, decorated beautifully, and everything looked top notch. The onsen has an amazing (albeit partially foggy/reflective) view of the water. The staff were by far the most courteous and helpful out of all the 7 hotels we stayed at during our trip to Japan. We originally booked one night but after checking in we decided to extend our stay by an additional night which turned out to be a smart decision. We didn't get a meal plan so I can't comment on that but the Pizza Toast and Cinnamon Toast at the bar were surprisingly delicious for snacks.

We loved this hotel. We stayed 5 nights and were sad to leave the comfort of our cosy and clean room. The staff were super helpful and speak a little English. Breakfast was cheap at 620Yen and was a selection of house made Japanese fair served in the lovely dining room each day. This hotel is fantastic value for money and the rooms are a typical small room but well planned so that it seemed spacious for two people. The interior is a little tired but clean and comfortable. Original art in the room was a nice touch. Highly recommend this hotel. We stayed at another hotel in Hiroshima that was more expensive and it didn't come close to the quality of this hotel. We plan to stay here again as it's just a great hotel.

my husband and i stopped by at hiroshima on the way to kyoto last november. we just booked the hotel by chance since we did not know which hotel in hiroshima is the best. to our amaze, we never expected to experience a beautiful stay in this hotel. it was only one night and we arrived a little bit late that day but the receptionists at the counter were very helpful and understanding. upon check-in we were given all the advices we need while visiting hiroshima. later, we headed straight to miyajima island after we left the bags in our room. it was 3 0'clock in the afternoon. we managed to complete our island tour by 5.30. it was unforgettable. the nicest thing i like about the room is the view. we could see a lot of activities along the bridge from the window.

Simple is the Key !! I do not usually leave comments on website during my trip but my stay in Santiago Guest House in Hiroshima was simply Great. Best experience. Find some inspiration there, it was easy to find everything you need : - The location : just on the center of life in Hiroshima, between Museums, meeting place, Castles, Gardens, Second Hand Shops, Omiage ( cadeaux Japonais ), Good restaurant ( okonomiyaki <3 ) etc ... -Staff : Well received ! Many good advices ! The ambience was festive and warm, and a good time was had by all. -The place : So Clean !!!! Confortable, Modern and Elegant design, simplicity is the key. - Quality-Price Ratio : Best Place RECOMMANDABLE. Thank You

Nice hotel with nice staff. It's about a 5 minute walk from Hiroshima station and easy to find. Nearest streetcar station is about a 2-3 minute walk away giving easy access to the whole city. 7-Eleven is close by as well. The price was a little high but still ok for Japan, but the room was also slightly larger than normal hotels. The staff were able to give me everything I needed for travelling around the city, including a city map and also a streetcar map with instructions on how to use it. I'd stay here again without any complaints.

a 2-year old hotel with friendly and helpful front staff .when i needed assistance to call a hotel in hiroshima to retrieve some personal items left there inadvertently, they offered to do that for me. the traditional japanese dinner costing yen per pax and service rendered were excellent. room was perfect-- very spacious and yukatas and pajamas provided . rooms are on the second , third and fourth floors. public bath on 5th floor has an indoor and an outdoor one where one can see the mainland and the pier. a very memorable stay for both of us.

Note for travelers booking this hotel: There are 2 Urbain Hiroshima Hotels in the city, on opposite sides. So if you use google maps to find it you may well end up at the wrong one, as we did! Other than that, this hotel is a very good choice for accessing the major destinations in Hiroshima. Access to the street car or subway is roughly 5 min on foot. The A bomb dome and memorial peace park can be reached on foot in 20 min or faster by street car. Hiroshima castle is 15 min by foot. There are convenience stores and restaurants and shopping right outside the hotel. Overall nothing special about this hotel just a good solid place to stay for a few days and explore Hiroshima.

We had a room with private bath for 3. It was very cozy, clean and we enjoyed the sitting area by the balcony where we could watch the sunset and the loads of tourists snapping photos of the shrine during its low tide. It is quiet although it is located in a rather busy location with lots of good eateries within a very short walk. Please check with the friendly staff where to eat the Ramee (#7 on their map for restaurants). It is REALLY the best bowl we have eaten since we arrived Japan 20 days ago. Not salty like most but full of flavour! If you enjoy hiking, please hike to its mountain top, the sunset scene is far more worth than taking photos of the shrine in its low tide. There are 3 trails to get up and down. We started with the longest trail and came down by the mid trail. 3 hours but was already pitch dark at 6pm. So do plan earlier as we started off late. Will surely return to Sakuraya on our next visit to enjoy its communal hot bathroom!

My adult daughter enjoyed our 4 nights at the Urbain Hiroshima Hotel. The staff had especially prepared a detail information booklet in English on things to do in Hiroshima. That was very helpful. We especially appreciated the breakfast room which was available 24 hours for free hot and cold drinks, plus the use of a microwave for self catering. Using the room key to access the lifts was a comforting security issue. We would certainly stay at the Urbain Hiroshima Executive Hotel should we visit Hiroshima again and would most definitely recommend it.

Stayed as a couple for one night in the twin room. Was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room on entering - it was like staying in an actual apartment with a proper corridor, segregated bathroom and toilet, a living space and two large beds. There was even a balcony with chairs and table. Kitchenette was a great feature even though we didn't do any cooking. It was stocked with the basics such as crockery, utensils, some pans, a gas stove and tea/coffee making facilities. The room itself was very clean and spacious. We particularly liked that the floor was wood instead of carpet, which felt more clean. The bathroom and toilet were also very clean and modern with all the necessary toiletries. In terms of location, it was only a 5-8 minute walk to the Hiroshima Peace Park and about 10-15 minutes to walk to the downtown area. Great hotel and would recommend to others.

I only stayed in Hiroshima for one night so I needed something cheap and close to Hiroshima station. I booked 1 hour before I arrived and it was a great choice! K’s hostel is less than 10 minutes walk from the station (take the South Exit and underpass or you’ll be lost in a maze trying to cross the road at street level!). It’s also 1 minute from the tram that goes straight to the centre and the A-dome. Pay with your Suica card or cash on the tram at the time you get off. The hostel is clean, colourful, quiet after 11pm, and the rooms with bunk beds have space under the bed, locker is available free of charge but I didn’t want it anyway. Overall it was super comfortable and staff are friendly and full of helpful tips . I asked about Miyajima and they have very useful directions ready. Free coffee/tea in the kitchen and the common area was a friendly place with people socialising and playing one of the many games available. Would stay again!

Great location - a short 10min walk to Hiroshima JR station and also downtown Hondori street. You can choose to walk to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and Hiroshima Castle or you can take a short bus ride. GoogleMap will provide the details to the bus services to hop on. Our room was a pleasant surprise! There was a nice sitting area overlooking the river by the hotel. Size of the room was a bonus too! Everything is provided. Including daily changes of kimono for you to sleep in. There's even a bathtub for a soak. Breakfast was basic. A yoghurt, a tiny sub sandwich and a hot drink (coffee/tea). The cafe overlooks the river, rather pleasant place to have afternoon tea. Staff of the hotel were amazing. Extremely helpful and cheery! :) Only feedback for the hotel : For a busy hotel like this - One washing machine and one dryer is certainly not enough for all the guests. Particularly when there is a time restriction to the usage of the machines (understandably so as they are next to rooms). And also, the dryer is not powerful enough to dry half load of laundry. We had to dry ours for over 4hrs.

It's my first time in Japan and the first hostel i booked was this. Friendly and helpful staffs. They let me kept my luggage cause i arrived before check in time. The location is near to Hiroshima train station, i have no problem in finding my way back and forth. I stayed in all-female dormitory which is nice and clean. Enough space to do my prayer (i'm a muslim). Nice neigbourhood too. Will definitely come again next time.
