"Vienna International hotel is conveniently located near the Hangzhou East Train Station, where the city metro (mrt) is located. When we reached the train station, it took us about 10 to 15 minutes to reach the hotel after asking for direction from the info counter. Can't help comparing the direction given by the info counter given here and that at Japan, here the direction was hurriedly and verbally given while that in Japan was patiently given with a smile as well as a hand-drawn map. We were very pleased with the service rendered by the hotel reception. We arrived before the 2pm check in time and wanted to leave our bags at their storeroom, but we were allowed to check in early. That was a delighted surprise ! We were also very happy with the large room that had musical theme pictures on its walls. Different charging cables for mobile phones were available in the room. The toilet equipped with a hair dryer and toiletries was big. Will stay at this hotel again in future."

"Stayed one night in hotel with group of friends for weekend trip away to Hangzhou. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful from check-in right through to check-out. Concierge provided great advice on dining out/ attrractions in local area. Rooms were modern and spacious. Beds comfortable although, if I can be picky, pillows were too soft. Also bathroom has a few issues, with hot water system seeming to be a little temperamental (could be teething problems), and bathroom towels too small/ thin for 4 star hotel. Minor gripes though, as all-in-all very good hotel and stay."

"A great hostel experience! The best of hangzhou right here This hostel is one of the best that I have stayed in anywhere, not just in China. Location, location location. simply could not find a better spot in Hangzhou. A quiet and charming old alley tucked against a mountain side at the edge of the bustling city. venture into mountain area behind via old stone stairways just meters away from the hostel to wander the hills from this point and view world heritage sites to boot. Or take an easy 10 minute stroll to West Lake. Service, the service was outstanding, staff went out of their way to attend to my every need in an attentive but low key manner. They asked all the right questions, didn't leave me wondering about anything and responded to all my requests quickly and efficiently. I wanted an extra blanket there it was, I needed recommendations and directions and they were given to an impressive degree. I was warned that the weekend would be busy and asked if I needed an extra night which I did. Please be nice to the staff when you stay because they are lovely, a few of them speak decent english. The others will be very forgiving and make an effort for a complete lack of Chinese language if this is you. The very nice restaurant next door offers 10 percent discount for hostel guests. The food is good! you could do far worse at many other restaurants. I had an eggplant and chicken stew that was delicious. Coffee shop opposite in Dafang lane does fantastic coffee freshly roasted on site. Rooms rooms rooms were clean and spacious, I opted for a king bed the loft rooms also look nice. Have not seen the dorms. Though slightly more expensive than other hostels it is definitely worth it. The best hostel experience I have had and I ended up staying 5 extra nights. Some of the surrounding areas are very touristy but this hostel and its immediate surrounds including the mountain behind are an island of goodness in what can be a confronting and challenging china.
