Franschhoek hotels & accommodations

My partner and I can't rate staying here strongly enough. From it's fabulous location close to all the amenities of Franschhoek, to the beautiful layout and stunning interior details, to the friendly and warmth of the amazing owners Declan and Paul, all the staff, and the fantastic pianist during cocktail hour, Nicole, all made for an incredible stay during our trip t...

The hotel was one of many that my wife and I stayed in during a three week visit to South Africa and is was exceptional. The room, breakfast, swimming and public areas were excellent. The only criticism (but I knew this before I booked)was that it is some 2.5miles from Franschhoek. However it did provide a shuttles into town three times a day. I will stay here agin...

Probably the loveliest guest house we stayed at during our visit to South Africa. Peter and Bradley were amazing hosts and went out of their way to be helpful and ensure we enjoyed our short visit. Wish we could have stayed longer, we didn't want to leave, it was so peaceful and the garden and pool were fantastic. Peter suggested a lovely winery for dinner which we ...

Leeu Estates is one of the most lovely places - the physical setting is stunning, the architecture and gardens are immaculate, the staff are excellent and thoughtful, and the overall experience is unparalleled. This was one of our favorite places (if not our favorite) in South Africa.

We were delighted to stay at Le Quartier Français. From the very friendly and attentive staff at the reception to the complimentary wine and delicacies in the room, complimentary car transfers within the Franschhoek area (quite convenient for wine tasting!), and a delicious breakfast, we could not have had a better stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at Lavender Farm Guest House. We were warmly greeted by our host Don who imparted his local knowledge about the Restaurants and Wineries in the Franschhoek region and even made a booking at a restaurant for us for the evening. The room was spacious, luxurious and beautifully decorated with every desired facility. The setting was just delightf...

My husband and I booked Macaron Guesthouse for the first part of our honeymoon in Franschhoek and absolutely loved our time there. It’s quaint and perfectly situated in a quiet street just off the main road within a three-minute walk. It’s a great spot if you want to be near the Franschhoek Wine Tram ticket booth/pick up and drop off spot, as well as many restaurants. ...

The accommodation at Holden Manz is truly beautiful - stylish and exuding class. Service from the staff is friendly and exemplary - nothing is too much trouble for Marius, Brendan and the other staff who were all superb. There are lots of lovely touches like a real fire in the room, top quality tea and coffee tray, not to mention the wine. We loved our three night sta...

We had a lovely warm welcome from the owner Tim on arrival at Ashbourne House - he gave us loads of recommendations for vineyards and restaurants in the local area. The room and pool were lovely as well as a delicious breakfast! Will definitely stay here again when I come back to Franschhoek.

An excellent, quaint little B & B, a short walk from the heart of Franschhoek village. The room was spacious, beautiful, and with an excellent view of the mountains. Breakfast was first class, with breakfast cooked to order using top end produce. Colin, the owner, has a wealth of local knowedge, better than any guidebook and it is a must that you seek his advice, not o...

Our stay at Centre-Ville was very good. As it was holiday season, the better rooms were booked, and so we got the loft rooms, which were very unique in design. It was very tastefully decorated (but the sloping roofs at the corners could be uncomfortable for tall people). Our hosts Lisa and her husband were very good and paid personal attention to the guests. They...

The hotel seemed lovely at first, very nice clean room beautiful view of the mountains. Wine and soft drinks were included from the minibar and breakfast was good quality. Upon checking in we were told checkout was 10am, it said 11am on agoda website. Everything was going well until the day we did the wine tram. Like most people we got quite merry and went back to t...

Everything about our stay was just excellent. The check in was smooth, Wellington was friendly, extremely professional and knowledgeable. The apartment was gorgeous, sparkling clean and equipped with everything we needed. Thoughtful small touches like ice in the freezer and bottled water next to every bed. Centrally situated. The balcony was our favourite place t...

Great service, nice spacious rooms and a really good location. Very tasteful country style boutique hotel. Really enjoyable gardens and a decent breakfast spread. Negative would be that rooms aren't spaced out, and don't have black out blinds so light comes into the rooms very early. Whilst the gardens are great, there is no real eye catching views of the stunning f...

This property surpasses any expectation we had. We knew that it looked good on paper,, but reality blew us away. Every aspect of our spacious, well appointed accommodations was perfect. The staff was attentive, informative and friendly. The grounds were beautiful and secure. We would definitely book again.

Gorgeous boutique hotel, close to all amenities. Just 5 minutes walk from bars and restaurants. 10 minute walk from Franschhoek wine tram. Room was beautiful - starting off with a bottle of champagne on our arrival, wine and water throughout. The gardens and pool area was beautiful, would like to return in the summer and make more use of that. Highly recommend a stay h...

Lovely spacious room with seating area and the most comfortable bed of my trip to SA. Only a few mins walk to the lovely Main Street of Franschoek and yet a quiet hotel. Owner very helpful. Breakfasts lovely. Great place to stay in the centre of Franschhoek with all the restaurants and cafes on your doorstep with the tram stop (for the vineyard tours) right outside. Couldn't be better! We spent a weekend in the beautifully appointed Pear Cottage in mid-winter on this farm. We sat in front of the fire while the rain drummed on the tin roof. Bliss. We had a barbecue one night and sat on the verandah enjoying the Woolies goodies bought in Franschhoek. The views of the mountains all around are magnificent.

The room was spacious and charming. The breakfast in the morning was delicious. It is walking distance from the main street and the Wine Tram. Truly the perfect location, and David and Jenny were fantastic with recommendations. I would absolutely stay there again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Franschhoek!

My wife and I had a fantastic time at Maison d'Ail during our stay in Franschhoek. The property was in a very quiet part of the small town with amazing mountain views to wake up to. We had four very comfortable and relaxed days here. We loved that the room was clean and comfortable, near the entrance, on the ground floor and just a few steps from the pool. What a wonderful location, beautiful scenery and very close to the town. The cottage was perfect and the photo's do not do it justice. We visit Franschhoek fairly often on weekend breaks. We have tried various establishments through the years. In terms of central location, attentive staff and quality of accommodation, The Last Word certainly is the best we have come across thus far.

Tina and her staff are so welcoming and accommodating. A very relaxed atmosphere. The house is stylish and demonstrates attention to detail everywhere.
