Hi, I had a fortune to visit Durban for a Business conference and I booked Hotel Pavilion through agoda. I was shocked to see the location, the clean hotel and comfortable rooms. I was now happy because what I paid was nothing against the services I got. I wish Hotel Pavilion best of luck for this future business. I would visit Durban very soon with my family and will ...

The staff is very friendly and helpful. You immediately receive a sense that you are a welcomed the minute you set foot in the hotel. The rooms are stylishly furnished and airy. The city view from the deluxe room balcony is one of the best city views a Durban hotel can offer.

I really loved the location, it changed my dbn visit for the first time in my life....... facilities was good.... I visited and called the hotel for an early check in which I was advised the hotel was fully booked, which is understandable. ...However the room was still not ready by 2:30..... What i did appreciate was being upgraded to executive room.... Another point t...

I'm telling it like it is, not biased at all. That place it's a dream. I really had a great time with hubby for our Valentines' get away. Clean, quiet and convenient. Loved the bed and the bedding not forgetting the towels.Next to everything. We got our money's worth. Thank you Coastlands Durban.

The Royal hotel in Durban is conveniently located in the center of the city. From the hotel, you can walk to the harbor. You can take a stroll at the square featuring the city hall. You can also take the people's mover bus to the major attractions throughout Durban. There is a business center where you can gain access to the internet. There are a couple of fine dining ...

This is by far one of the best hotels I've stayed in South Africa. THe service is great, the room is very new and big, with great equipments and definitely clean. The most notible thing on this hotel is its location- it is actually connected to the biggest shopping center in South Africa- the Gateway Mall (you exit the side entrance of the hotel, to enter gate 8, c...

This hotel is a great new addition to the Durban beachfront. Although it is not directly on the beach, it is only a 5-7min walk to the beach front. It is centrally located to all major highways, Florida Rd, and central Durban. Great hotel with friendly and welcoming staff, and modern, new amenities. Will definitely stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay at the City Lodge even though the Trainee wrongfully charged my card while i had already made the payment. The next time we travel to Durban again it will be our 1st hotel to book. We only struggled with food as the light meals on the menu were not appetising. But for a 3 star hotel it is the best. We will come back again very soon n the WiFi is sup...

We were warmly greeted upon our arrival to Hilton Hotel, Durban, South Africa. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and courteous at all times. Magnificent views, beautifully furnished rooms with lovely bathroom. Bathroom includes large jacuzzi bath. For a five star establishment I did not like not being allowed to leave the hotel before my room and minibar was checked, even though a credit card authorisation was taken on check in. But I guess this is South Africa!

We were picked up by Stephen. He was our first impression of Africa. We explained to us the city, culture, language, and the list goes on. He provided smooth, safe and friendly transfer service. His service was impeccable. We can tell that he loves his job and that makes the difference. In addition, your F&B manager, Augustin, kindly spent time explaining to us the c...

I went to Durban for a conference (at the ICC Durban). I used my own funding to support this trip to South Africa, so to save money I stayed at the Albany Hotel instead of the conference hotel (Hilton). I am happy that I made the right choice. The hotel is within walking distance to ICC Durban, only 1/5 the cost of Hilton, and it comes with a nice breakfast buffet. ...

Simply, a fantastic hotel. My wife & I often stay in Durban on short breaks & have stayed @ many of the available hotels. However, this is now far & away our favourite. This is not just a place to lay your weary head, but an experience in itself. Very unusual but awesome decor. Great food & drink. Wonderful service, all finished of with a great, relaxing breakfast. WHAT STOOD OUT FOR ME:- How non-intrusive your staff is. They actually leave you alone to be at home yet they are always on hand to promptly assist. I LOVE THAT. Very few hotels get that right. My booking wasn't in in the system and was asked to move to another hotel but couldn't as it was 20 minutes away so I got a room eventually but the TV and kettle didn't work, so were replaced, there was no hairdryer but when asked I got one and when I eventually took a shower, realised it leaked water onto the bathroom floor. The WIFI signal is so weak, it keeps losin...

Booked a king bedroom but was assigned a standard bedroom. The hotel charged up front like a budget accommodation. All other things are just ok, nothing is outstanding. I would give it a 3-star, not 4 as advertised. Hopefully, I won't be staying here again.

The visit to Essenwood House was much too brief! Paddy and John are fantastic, really fantastic hosts and they ensure that the establishment provides a good experience. I would recommend Essenwood House highly and I have already moved it to the top of my list of establishments in Durban.

I enjoyed my stay. The room was large and had everything I needed. The included breakfast was wonderful (more than I should have eaten but it was so good). The only problem I had is that it is very much our of the way. There is no public transport near this property and every taxi driver I hired had difficulty finding it. It is on a small street that is not well trave...

My husband and I book a room for overnight stay after reading the positive reviews online. On arrival the house looked dodgy and there is no buzzer or signage indicating that this was the BnB. After hooting for awhile, we were welcomed by an old man who showed our room. The room was very stuffy and had dirty looking bedding with multi colours that were faded. The room ...

Vincent is such an able and supportive host and he rallies his team magnificently. I've stayed in many BnB's in Durban and this one has the best breakfast by far. The rooms are big and very well furnished and the price reasonable. Good wifi. The only negative is the poor tv channel choice and poor reception in the rooms. Disappointing as the rest is si good.

However I would never book through Agoda again. What a useless means of a booking system. No help when you need it. Always closed. Then they call you from Hong Kong and Singapore and cannot talk propper English. Keep asking the same question and nothing to assist the situation. Would never book through Agoda again!!!

From the moment we booked until we checked out we received a tailor made customer service experience. The room was as exceptional if not better than what we saw on the internet. My fiance and I were looking to find faults but couldn't. The breakfast was delicious, we also made use of their steam room and jacuzzi both were lovely. A big thank you to the staff from the ...

I booked this guesthouse for my brother very short notice and the feedback he gave me was very positive. Staff super friendly and the rooms clean and very comfortable. On his travels back he will def try and book a room with the Grange again. He felt very well taken care of.

The lodge is a hidden unexpected gem in close proximity to malls and highways. The location is in a quiet neighborhood yet close to whatever you would need in walking distance. A short taxi ride will take you almost anywhere in Durban. The hosts are friendly and helpful. This is a place with many repeat clients of which i will become another.

Would stay here again. I am usually a fussy guest and am particular about cleanliness. The apartment was well maintained and serviced daily. Found it a bit too small for 2 young kids but adequate given we only stayed 2 nights. Only problem was that an entire panel of the shower door was missing - would have rated higher if not for this.

Fantastic venue with amazing views. Great service from the owner who was quite willing to accommodate our early checkin. Decent B&B situated slightly away from the Durban City hustle & bustle, but accessible enough to reach Durban city quickly if needed. Order the breakfast - Amazing value for money!

The value cannot be beat. The breakfast was incredible each day. The staff was always ready and able to help, whatever your need. A quick walk to the best restaurants in the area or the beach. I will never stay anywhere else when visiting Durban. We are now lifelong guests of Sandals.

Beautiful b&b, wonderful large room (ground floor) with one of the best showers I've ever encountered! Open the doors onto a covered patio, and take a short walk down to a pretty much private beach. Breakfast was a mixed affair, plenty of choice but pretty weak service, with staff clustered in the kitchen talking amongst themselves. Cappuccino machine not the best I'...

From driving onto the hotel grounds to departing the service of the BH was impeccable. Reception seem exceptional. The valet parking of the vehicle a pleasure. Real reviews for hotels
I am a Cape Tonian & currently staying in Gauteng, i must admit for the short periods of time i have been in Durban, i considered relocating there.
Historical buildings are not well kept, the hotels and apartments around South beach all look dilapidated.
Durban is good for all ages and cultures. There are a lot of places to go or just to relax at the beach.
Good attractions - Ushaka Marine World, Mangrove swamps. nice malls for shoppers. City centre very busy and bustling, though museum and art gallery in city centre worth a visit
OVERALL, DURBAN HAS FANTASTIC WEATHER AND A BEAUTIFUL BEACH LIFE. JUST AN ENERGY ABOUT IT WHEN IT COMES TO THE BEACH.
this city has something for everyone no matter what age, religion, race, social standing - its probably the most underrated city in south Africa.
Visit Ushaka Marine world when in Durban. Beaches are lovely with hot Indian Ocean water and free from sharks and other dangerous marine creatures.
we truly loved the city, its clean at the north & south beach and most of the areas. Down town seems to be a bit unsafe, but we never had any problems.
the city is a nice travellers destination. every good beaches and nice places to see. funny city. but city needs to step up their game when it comes to house keeping.
THIS IS THE CITY TO PARTY. The people are friendly, fun, crazy, inviting. All they want to do is have a good time and dance.
CITY IS GOOD FOR BUSINESS PEOPLE, LOTS OF INDEPENDENT BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, BEAUTIFUL BEACHES AND RESTAURANTS, PUBS AND FUN ACTIVITES
If I have to relocate and I m ask to choose the city, it will definitely be Durban. I t has the second biggest mall in SA.
You need to have transport to move around Durban for all the site seeing. There is a lot to see and to do.
A cosmopolitan city with a diverse ethnic and cultural background, converging into a unique lifestyle.
The best place in the world to go for a morning stroll, cycle or jog. A golden mile to showcase to the world.
Durban city has a lot to offer. The beaches are very close to the city. The people of Durban are friendly and always willing to assist visitors of the great city.
Best for families with small children; great marine park, good beachside promenade, great beach (good for paddling or for surfing but not good for swimming.
There is a wide variety of activities for families on the beach front although the rest of Durban appeared dirty and crowded.
Durban is a very attractive city with the best weather during Winter. The tourist attractions are wonderful and the harbour with the boat rides is something special.
places to visit would be minitown, ushaka marine world, boat trips at the harbour, the animal farms.
I love Durban. I find the City Centre, the CBD very difficult to handle. The two Banks I entered each had more than 150 people in line for service.
An ever warm city and value for money. I really enjoyed the stay at the city and looking forward visiting again.
An amazing place filled with an amazing cultural heritage consisting of Zulu, Indian, English and more! So much to do.
Beautiful beaches along the coast line with lovely hotels. Preferably choose a hotel along the beach front.
although there is a crime problem this is a truly beautiful city with many attractions. multicultural population - a bit of Europe india Africa etc.
It is clean, safe and the weather is amazing all year round. The sea is generally clean and there are sharknets.
Its a very tourist friendly city, with a lot to offer and great for big events like sports, music and conferences with good climate throughout the year although in December it may be a bit too humid but still bearable.
The city is may be less exiting than Cape Town, but it is a easy city to understand, they have a good, cheap and secure collective transport in the city center (People Mover)and the bBeachfront is very queiet, marevellous for surfers, but much waves for swimming.
I enjoyed my stay in Durban everytime I went there. Anytime of the year you will enjoy Durban's warmth in its weather and people
Its a lovely city, great beaches in the north. It has a lovely stadium and easy access to most attraction.
