Exquisite boutique hotel on Chaopraya River near historical places on Rattanakosin Island”

Excellent in all aspects! Staff (especially Khun Ohm, Khun Atom and Khun Nut) are very welcoming, helpful and supportive. They take pride in providing us the best services and best experiences during our stay at Chakrabongse Villas. There are also the White Mouse Bar and Cafe (with mini museum on Prince Bhira and his racing car) the River Books Shop located on the premise for the people who love coffee, cakes and good books. Fine Thai Dinining at Chakrabongse Villas is highly recoomended. We are impressed with exquisite tradition Thai Cuisine with the river and Wat Arun view. The villas is located right in the centre of the old town(Rattanakosin Island) next to Wat Poh, the Grand Palace& the Emerald Buddha Temple, Tha-Tien, Wat Arun, Thai national flower market and many historical places. B My family and I have the best experience during our stay here. We will definitely visit Chakrabongse Villas again.

Spectacular Hotel”

I’m so glad I chose Chakrabongse Villas for our first nights in Thailand and in Bangkok. Beautiful grounds in the perfect location for exploring the old city it provided the perfect retreat to a calm oasis when we wanted to escape the heat and bustle. I also highly recommend the chefs dinner, which was a truly magical experience. Ms. Atom and all the staff went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of and we enjoyed every moment of our stay. For a truly magical stay in Bangkok Chakrabongse Villas has everything you need.

Fantastic, will definitely come back ”

I was initially apprehensive after reading the mixed reviews, but then I was totally blown away by experience. The setting is superb, facing Wat Arun, and the room is spacious. Sunny, one of the hotel staf members, took good care of me and my friend from check in to check out. The Thai dinner was fantastic and breakfast was also great. I've been to Bangkok many times, but that was the first I stayed in the old part of Bangkok, where the hotel is located.I will definitely come back.

Magical Kingdom”

This is a truly amazing place. You are walking distance from Wat Pho and the Grand Palace. Also walking distance to Ta Tien pier from which you can go across the river to Wat Arun or down the river to the Oriental Hotel for a drink or to the Taksin Skytrain. This is a "gated community," with security and 6 rooms/villas. The pool is outstanding. They have their own private boat dock and a deck overlooking the Chao Phraya River. You can order (by 1:00) a 7 course meal to be served in the most romantic surroundings I may ever have seen. The gardens are just lovely. Bangkok is right at your front door but you are in the middle of secluded peace and quiet. Staff is extremely helpful. Great history here also. Will definitely return.

Stunning hide-away”

We loved this residence. The room given to us were well attained, but very small. I was rather disappointed at the start. But, the premises is very clean and so quiet. Only 8 rooms on the premises means it is very private. I do not find it cheap for what it is, but there are numbers of benefits and lovely surprises to discover. + The prestigious location. Joy to walk around the area, and is safe + Very well-trained, attentive, happy and genuine staff + Clean pool/bar/sofas/daybeds tucked in hidden between the trees, and on open balcony with a view. + Stunning view of the river + Free water/coffee/tea setting on the communal area. Beautiful to sit down to appreciate greens or a rain fall All those above enable you to appreciate the pleasure of journey at your own timing, in your personal space. We were very comfortable there. If you prefer all the services to be provided on a finger snap, this may not be your place. The 500THB breakfast maybe a bit over priced, but it was beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. This is your small, quiet, hide-out in Bangkok.

Truly an amazing place... Like a hidden Gem in the middle of old Bangkok. Behind Walls on Maharat road near Wat Po a paradise is located... Green lush gardens, beautiful villas and rooms, a stunning pool, and teraccess with views over Chaophraya river and Wat Arun... The breakfast served at you looking right by the river... Beautiful boutique hotel with a wonderful view”

the staff are very welcoming and the room and ambiance was great. it was a real change to be in bangkok and feel like at a resort somewhere upcountry. i particularly liked having breakfast and looking out over the river towards wat arun as it gave a different feel from the usual hustle and bustle of bangkok. the location is great for seeing the grand palace and wat pho and if you want to go into the city center you can either take a taxi or go to the river taxis and then transfer to bts. it takes longer but is also a fun way to see bankgok. when i go back to bangkok i will say there again.

Amazing Amazing Amazing---”

Simply Amazing villas includes spacious & beautiful grounds, beautiful lighting, beautiful architecture, beautiful pool, beautiful river-front terrace/restaurant, amazing artwork and artifacts, this was a former prince's residence transformed into river-front villas. The location was perfect grand palace and Wat Po literally across the street, and walking distace to Chinatown or Koh Sahn whatever way you swing. We did not try the food but understand that it is royal family recipes prepared for river-front dining with a view of beautiful Wat Arun across the Cha Phryha. We stayed for 3 nights felt very private and exclusive. Locals were sure to let us know how lucky we were to be staying at these villas, and we felt every-bit the same. On our 3rd day we discovered that other guest had been staying at the villas the past 3 days. We never saw/heard/knew that others were there. We felt as though this palace was our own. The other guest felt the same they did not know we had been sharing this place. Truly amazing, and special place. Highly recommended -- We will be back.!!!!

Set on the banks of the Chap Prya River, a stone's throw to Wat Pho, this might be one of Bangkok's best kept secrets. The huge grounds feature spectacular verdant gardens, a huge pool, a stunning deck overlooking Wat Arun-- the Temple of Dawn. Sit back and watch the bustling river traffic- the grounds and room are extremely quiet considering you are nestled in the heart of Bangkok. Our new favourite hotel in SE Asia.

perfect starting point for our trip in thailand and ideal spot in bangkok, next to the wat pho and the grand palace, in front of wat arun, in the heart of the old city and on the river ! it was a joy to come back in quiet and fresh garden and property after busy noisy days in bangkok. staff very helpful and nice ! everything seems very easy ! we would definitely come back !!!

A little gem”

we saw this place in the times and booked for 2 nights on the strength of it. my only complaint is we didn't book for longer. absolutly faultless in every respect. when we return to bangkok we will definitly stay there again. dinner was exeptional, personally cooked to order (we let the chef chose) a real banquet whilst overlooking the comings and goings on the river. stayed in the garden suite, had breakfast on our private patio, i could go on and on .....

We had a wonderful short break here. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful (except the rover boats) break in central Bangkok. Fantastic room.. A very exclusive feel. Yes you pay for it but with only 7 rooms it is certainly Away from the hustle and bustle. Lovely

Romantic, personal and authentic ”

What an incredible stay we had, Atom and the staff were kind, attentive and informative. We were upgraded to a garden sweet and even given roses by the staff at dinner to celebrate our honeymoon. The location is perfect and a quiet escape from the busy Bangkok streets. We wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommended - thank yuh for having us !

A jewel of a find ”

Located in the old town this is a magical place to stay. Near by is the Temple and the Palace, all in walking distance. The Flower Market is 5 mins walk away, and the street food is yummy. The villas overlook tropical gardens and the complex overlooks the river where the dining room is set. The one night we ate in we were treated to a kings ransom of food. The staff are helpful and cheerful and looked after all our needs. As the river is so close you will hear river traffic. If you can get a room jump at the chance.

Good location for old Bangkok and in a little tranquil setting. Villa was clean, well presented and fully equipped, absolutely no complaints.

Lovely period stylish rooms and really helpful staff couldnt do enough for you. Food at dinner in private riverside restaurant from fixed menu was also delicious. A bit on expensive side, but all things considered would pribably stay there again.

A small, unique boutique hotel with fantastic service. ”

We had an amazing time - a real gem of a hotel. It’s location is fantastic, just a short walk from the Grand Palace, Wat P & Wat Arun among others. The staff were exceptionally helpful and overall the service was fantastic. Having breakfast with such a great view of the river made for an excellent start to the day (although breakfast isn’t included in the room rate). Our highlight was a tour of the river & canals on a beautiful speedboat arranged for us by the hotel. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend it. However, it’s probably worth saying that if you’re into big, modern, flashy hotels that this one might not be for you. It’s definitely a small scale, more intimate place.

Great location, very private, with only 6 neighbors can't be noisy, the bed is comfortable, I adore the artistic designs of rooms and gardens. After my short stay in BKK, I highly recommend this exquisite villa for people have good taste and enjoy quietness. BUT.... The only problem is the taxi, it's so difficult to get one, when the security called a taxi for me, I waited too long, and the driver is extremely rude and greedy. The staff of the hotel told me that no driver would like to go to another side of the town unless I paid 300bht which is 100'on the meter...I hope the hotel can improve this service by contract reliable taxi company, I was really upset about this.
