A pure delight in Udon”

My stay at the Centara Hotel and Convention Centre Udon Thani Hotel was a pure delight. I was very impressed with the appearance of the lobby and rooms. The rooms were extremely clean and comfortable. The hotel is located in an excellent location. It is within walking distance of almost anything one might need or want. Restaurants, shopping centers, nightclubs, bus station, and other places are within walking distance of the hotel. The staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The breakfast and lunch buffet had a very large selection of food available. The food was beautifully presented. The lunch buffet was most impressive and well attended by the staff. More traditional Thai food could be found in the food court at the supercenter, just a short walk from the hotel, or at the shopping plaza near the train station, as well as the many restaurants in the area. The only negative I have about the hotel is not being able to use the internet while they transition to new computers. I believe the transition could have been better managed by having at least one computer available for patrons. The Centara Hotel is now my favorite hotel to reside when ever I am in Udon. It has too many pluses, and too few negatives.

My Best Hotel in Udornthani”

The Centara Hotel & Convention Centre, Udon Thani is settled in the heart of the city. It is 15 minutes drive from the train station. The hotel is a few steps from a shopping and entertainment centre, consisting of the Chaoensri Complex Shopping Mall, Robinson Department Store and a Major Bowl and Cinema Complex. Rooms at the Centara Hotel & Convention Centre, Udon Thani are spacious and well furnished with modern amenities. Formerly known as the Charoensri Grand Royal Hotel. The room rate is very competitive for the same stars hotel in this area. In conclusion, this is beyond your expectation.

Very nice place in Udon Thani”

This is my second visit to Centara Hotel & Convention Centre Udon Thani Hotel. The first in November 2010 was disappointing. I was impressed with the hotel lobby and dining, but the furnishing in the rooms were old, the carpets smells bad and were dirty, and there were roaches in my room; but the service was great. I live in Udon Thani and watched as the Central Plaza and the hotel were modernized; so of my birthday I decided to take a look to see what changes were made. The Lobby did not change much it still has a grand appearance and the service was great. I was happy to see the carpets on the upper floors were replaced and the carpeting in the rooms was removed and replaced with wood laminate. There were even new fixtures added, although some of the old furnishings remained. Now if the only get the internet to work on the upper floors... I was overall pleased with the hotel and will return to see the swimming pool.

Centralised hotel with shopping malls at your door”

My stay at the Centara Hotel & Convention Centre Udon Thani Hotel was a good relaxing getaway over the weekends. We were fortunate to secure this booking at a promotional fare because I guess it was on a non-peak season. The hotel is centrally located with Central mall at your doorstep. It is very convenient to shop and dine at the Central mall. Do also take time and check out Cenvaree Spa at the hotel, the prices are affordable and spiritual relaxing.

Great location”

I stayed for the first time in this Hotel and found it clean with excellent staff. The location is close to big "R" shopping center, public transport and all other amenities. I found tis hotel to be clean and extremely comfortable.I liked it and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. I hope to return to Udon Thani and will stay at the Centara Hotel & Convention Centre Udon Thani Hotel again.

Quality accomodations in great central location”

I've stayed at this hotel before, but as I'm a volunteer in the neighboring nation of Laos, I usually opt for less expensive accomodations when going to Udon Thani. After a particularly stressful December I decided to splurge and treat myself to a New Year's Weekend escape at the Centara. Recent renovations have provided the hotel with direct indoor access to the neighboring Central Mall which offers Western dining and some nice shopping options, both of which are scant in Laos and are some of the reasons I "escape" to Udon Thani. With guest rooms opening onto an indoor atrium extending the entire height of the hotel one would think noise might be a problem, but I honestly heard nothing disruptive when in my eighth floor room--even on a celebratory weekend. I was at reception only to check in and check out; there were no needs to be brought before management during my stay. I may splurge and treat myself to the Centara more often in the future!

Surprisingly nice and close to centre of town”

I stayed there for a night on the way out from Udon Thani. The hotel was surprisingly nice with a modern contemporary design. It looked amazing for business travellers or those at attending a convention. Close to the centre of town and close to Central shopping centre. Lots of food and bar options with a decent enough breakfast and well priced western restaurant food. I would recommend this hotel for couples, families and business travellers - it hits all the spots. Good internet, too.

Nicest hotel in Udon Thani”

The Centara Hotel is the nicest hotel in Udon Thani. The location is excellent, directly attached to the Central Plaza Mall, which is great for running over to dine or do some shopping. It is also within walking distance of many choices for dining, bar hopping, shopping, or getting a massage. The staff is very friendly, and the lobby looks like a 5-star hotel, as does the indoor courtyard when exiting the elevator toward your room. That being said, it isn't perfect. The room was small, and the beds uncomfortable. It felt as if you were lying on a piece of wood. I actually like firm beds, but this took it to another level. I originally requested one large bed when booking, but when checking in, was told there wasn’t one available for that type of room, even though it was an option online. The breakfast had many choices, however I would rate it average at best. Those who say this is the best breakfast they ever had must not dine out much. There were some international choices such as sausage, ham, and waffles, however there was no syrup, and the ham and sausage were cooked and served in warm water. The fruit was very good; the coffee was very poor, so my wife and I would go to Starbucks next door. All in all, we stayed there four nights, but after eating there two days, we had enough. My only other gripe was that when you went downstairs toward the parking lot or Karaoke Lounge, the stairwell was run down, smelled, and had no air conditioning. The lobby was beautiful, however the care seemed to stop as soon as you opened the door to that stairwell. On the plus side, the parking attendant couldn't have been any friendlier. All gripes aside, the Centara Hotel is still the nicest hotel in Udon Thani at a very reasonable price. If I were to visit Udon Thani again, I’m sure this would be my destination. I would probably upgrade the room and skip the breakfast. There are many better choices in the mall next door.

Nice hotel with excellent restaurant and good room”

I've stayed at the Centara many times, since it's refurb and the extensions to the shopping centre the hotel now has a lot more to offer. The rooms are good sized and always well presented. Checking in and out is always a pleasant experience. The TV service is good with modern flat screen TV's. On the downside, the bathrooms heve been refitted and are very good but the bathtubs have been removed! The only other fault I find is the charge made to use the Wi-Fi. All-in-all, a very good hotel which I will continue to use on my visits to Udon Thani.

Ideal Hotel”

First time visitation to Udon Thani, and guided by previous reviews. Overall the ambience of the Centara Hotel is quite lavish and well maintained. Clean, comfortable Hotel throughout, ideally located right next door to the Robinson's Mall. To obtain a delicious well catered for breakfast is always a travellers' dream, and there were no disappointments. The staff are courteous and obliging. Fifth floor pool is adequate, and the gymnasium is well equipped, however the running machines were faulty and outdated. Would use this Hotel is preference to any other establishment in Udon Thani.

Pleasant and very comfortable”

The Centara in Udon Thani is as central as central gets. Linked to the Central Plaza complex, the place of pilgrimage for every self-respecting shopper, it’s ideally suited to take a rest if your Louis Vuitton bags get too heavy. The Centara is the leading hotel in the city and this is obvious from the wide gap in amenities and services between this and other hotels in town. The rooms are modern, well-appointed and spacious. While staff seem to appear from out of the woodwork, they are polite and discreet knowing when to offer help and when to just observe and smile. The restaurants offers very good western food but for local and Asian cuisines restaurants in the city offer excellent and cheaper alternatives.

good hotel, good location”

I hand a good 2 day stay at the centara hotel in Udon Thani. Hotel was spotless, although ever so slightly dated. Pool area on 5th floor was small and pool was rather shallow (waist high), Also on same floor was a massage/spa area and gym. Live band was on both nights of my stay and bar area was fine. Next door is the most modern building.in Udon. The Central Plaza shopping complex. There are other hotels and rooms for rent closer to nightlife area. If I was to return to Udon, I would stay in one of those, but just because I like to try different places. So overall a good sray

Very nice hotel with a bit of old world charm.”

We had a very pleasant stay at Centara Hotel. The rooms were basic, reasonably modern, clean and well serviced. The hotel is right next to the best shopping centre in Udon Thani which has a great selection of eateries for dinner. Staff were very nice and we looked forward to breakfast every day. Only downside was no free wifi.

Good choice for a short stay”

The hotel has everything to offer, though it's a little bit run down and need a better maintenance, but all in all it's a very good choice for a short visit to Udon Thani either on business or pleasure trip. It locates in the middle of the city centre, right next to the big shopping mall and convention centre, also within walking distance to couple of the city's attractions.

very nice hotel, but a bit pricy”

The Centara is a top quality hotel, although a bit on the pricy side when compared to other hotels in Udon Thani. When I arrived, they did not have the room I requested. Instead, they gave me the next higher priced room they had, albeit at a discount. The room was very nice, although I would have been satisfied in the less expensive room. I do not, however, plan to stay there again. There are plenty of nice places to stay for about half the price and I really don't need a luxury hotel.

Great hotel with very little to fault”

i recently stayed for five nights at the centara, and this was not for the first time. the fact that we returned to this hotel speaks volumes for the high standard and reasonable price that the location offers. the hotel itself is a short journey from the airport and is sited close to the centre of udon, with easy access to the parks, markets and adjacent to the newly extended main shopping plaza. it really is hard to find fault with any of the standard of service on offer. the extensive, well prepared and generous breakfasts, the good size rooms, the professionalism of the management and reception staff all contribute to making a great hotel. there are also basement parking facilities should you wish to hire a car, and the evening entertainment is very smooth and relaxing after a busy day out and about. the internal triangular arrangement of the building makes an interesting feature, and for those so inclined, but i have to declare i am not one of them, there are excellent relaxation and workout facilities on the lower floors. thoroughly recommended.

Great Location”

Most of the time when going to Udon thani for business meeting, I always able to book a room at Centara Hotel and Convention Centre Udon Thani. The stay is good. Due to my frequent stay at this hotel, my request to free upgrade to deluxe room is approved. I am glad and happy taht the hotel recognise me as one of their customer.

Pefect location for our shopping spree”

We'd promised our children a days shopping for their Birthdays in Udon Thani, we couldn't have chosen a better Hotel, right next door to one of the largest shopping complexs in Udon, in fact, the Hotel even had a private doorway leading into the shopping complex. Now Breakfast was something else, one of the largest most varied buffet breakfast's that I have even seen, and with starving teenage kids, we certainly got our moneys worth. The rooms we booked they said were Deluxe rooms and they were very spacious, excellent bathroom (With a bath) and all the necessary compliments. TIP; If your booking has the choice of Breakfast included or not included, pay the extra when booking the room, its cheaper than having to pay afterwards at the Hotel itself.

In the Hub of Udon Thani”

Centara Hotel has always been our hotel of choice in Udon Thani. It's located in the center of town, right next to the mall and main market. My favorite part of the hotel is the excellent gym that they have, best I've seen at a hotel ever in all my travels. Dislikes: the beds are too hard and the wifi is too weak to conduct business in your room.

So Convenient and Great Location”

Since I will travel to Udon Thani more often, I will stay at the Centara Hotel & Convention Centre Udon Thani Hotel. It makes my life a lot easier when I am away from my home town, Bangkok.
