Superb Hotel, Friendly and accommodating staff”

We stayed at Borei Angkor Resort and Spa for 6 days (June 7-12) and it was an unforgettable experience. The thought of a vacation in Siem Reap for the first time brought bits of anxiety and apprehension. Expectation was up front especially that a five star hotel Borei Angkor Resort and Spa sold at a lower cost and probably the services and the place was not consistent with its 5 star rating. However, Borei Angkor Resort relieved our anxiety. It has even surpassed our expectation. The airport to hotel transfer was efficient. After checking out of the baggage claim area, we were greeted with one of our names written clearly on a welcome card, being held by a friendly smiling hotel staff CHANTAH... On the way to the hotel, he was so accommodating and cordial, giving us bits of Siem Reap profile and history. Upon check in, we were assisted by an equally cordial and friendly front desk staff JOHN, who took time to orient us on the hotel rules, tour package arrangements, and the must-sees and where-to-eat stuff. The welcome courtesy pandan tea was so refreshing. The hotel room was complete and huge. The bathroom was first class. Thanks JOHN for upgrading our accommodation. The hotel offers a lot of amenities and facilities we thought we would not avail since the rate was cheaper. We later learned it was lean months and they had to bring down room rates to maintain tourist influx to the city without compromising their services. The pool was big and the water was cold - perfect to sooth one's tired body from the smoldering sun and endless walks. The sauna was superb. At times, the jacuzzi's thermostat had to be reset. The dry and steam sauna was not over crowded although we had to call the sauna staff many times for we found it confusing to set the time and temperature. Fresh towels were readily available and the shower was equipped with citronella-based body wash and shampoo. The buffet area for breakfast was at Borei Cafe and it offered an array of Cambodian and fushio

Relaxing and memorable stay”

Friendly and attentive staff throughout the hotel, clean and well maintained rooms, pretty good spa

The stay at Borei Angkor Resort & Spa was a pretty pleasant one. When we first entered Borei Angkor, the facade gave a very good impression of the hotel. The wonderful experience started when we were seated at a mini lounge/waiting area while we were checked into the hotel. We were served a chilled drink and cold wet towels to refresh ourselves before we were brought to our rooms. The rooms were clean and big. Given that the hotel is not new, I must say it is extremely well maintained. The staff were very friendly and attentive. They were sincere and spoke good english. The spa is pretty good too. They served us even though we just returned all dirty and muddy from a cycling trip to the temples. All in all, a nice and pleasant stay that would warrant a repeat stay if we were to visit Siem Reap again.

An Amazing Hotel with Great Staff”

Cleanliness, friendly staff, and a great pool.

My fiancee and I went to Siem Reap for our four year anniversary. We decided to stay at the Borei Angkor Resort & Spa because of its location, amenities, and style. We flew in from Thailand and were picked up with the shuttle service at the airport. Two members of the hotel staff were waiting there to greet us. They were so friendly and immediately made us feel welcome to not only their hotel, but to Cambodia as well. When we checked into our hotel, we were very surprised to find that we had been upgraded because of our anniversary. Daniel and the staff went way beyond the call of duty to make our anniversary trip very special and memorable. The food was great, the pool excellent, and the number of services available was without compare. I recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Siem Reap.

Nice Place to Stay”

My wife and I found the hotel staff very friendly and accomodating. The restaurant provided quite decent meals, and breakfast was excellent. We liked the location, because it was relatively close to the ruins. After spending time at the sites we could shower and change at the hotel before going into town for lunch. The room was definitely quiet at night, which was important for us. Also, there was a hardwood floor and no carpet, so there was no mildew odour, which you sometimes get in the tropics.
The cost of doing laundry was much too high; in fact it was higher than our hotel in BKK, which was also too high. Fortunately, there was a laundry service about seven minutes walk towards town. That outfit charge $2 per kilo, which is very reasonable.

This hotel was quite new, and provided 24 hour service in the restaurant. There was a bar at one corner on the fourth floor, although we could not hear any noise from it in our room, which was at the far end of the third floor. For someone with a room close to the bar (band music), noise might be a problem at night, although I know that the staff will readily accomodate people if they want to move to different rooms. There was construction during the day in the rooms directly above us, which seemed to entail a lot of drilling and hammering. This started at about 8 AM and continued until about 5 PM. This was not a terrific problem for us, since we were out most of the day. At one point, I did ask for a quiet room so that I could have a rest after lunch, and the staff was willing to place me temporarily in any available room in the hotel, which was very good of them. We did not want to change rooms, since the one we had was really quiet during the night. The hotel was really exceptionally nice. This was our third trip to Siem Reap, and the Borei Angkor is our favourite hotel thus far. We plan to visit Siem Reap a year or so from now, and will definitely return to the Borei Angkor. One thing that I like about the rooms in the hotel is that the washrooms are very large and have not windows. This makes it easy for me to change sheet film, which I use in my camera.

Great hotel with fantastic service”

Service, food & hotel appearance

Many hotels usually have one or 2 minor things that are not quite right or need improving... and some are downright awful. Borei Angkor is one of those places where they seemed to have covered everything and got it all right... it's usually the little things that make a big difference and this place seems to have thought of everything... Their attention to detail is incredible, whether it's the welcome cold towel upon returning from a tour under the hot Cambodian sun, or the invigorating rainhead showers... and the staff can't do enough to help you, nothing is too much trouble and always carried out efficiently and with a smile. Tried dinner here one night, the Khmer-style chicken curry was really good! In fact we never had a bad meal here (nor in Siem Reap for that matter)... Buffet breakfast was also one of the best I've experienced anywhere, with a vast range and variety of choices... Well located and a short drive to the Angkor Wat area, and only a 5 minute ride into town by tuk-tuk... Our host Tony was always there to assist, from check-in right through the rest of our stay, sometimes suggesting or offering things we hadn't even thought of, and helped make our stay even more enjoyable and effortless... and we were made to feel very welcome at all times... We booked 2 tours via the hotel, one to Angkor Thom & Angkor Wat, as well as cruise up the Tonle Sap river through rural Cambodia, with floating villages and beautiful scenery... The tour was well organized (private car) and our driver Chumnit was very friendly & knowledgeable, and just a really nice guy...Every time we returned to the car after exploring we were always greeted with a cold drink, cold towel and a smile. I can't fault anything with the property, but it was really the staff that made the whole experience so much better... I enjoyed my stay at Borei Angkor immensely - I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

Amazing people Amazing service”

I love everything about the hotel.

Borei Angkor is not just a stay its an experience. Just from the moment you walk in you feel welcomed. And the hotel is so open and pleasant. The stone and wooden interiors blends so well with the natural light from outside. And the staff makes it a better experience. Thomas the congierge is just full of smiles. I would definitely recommend you look for him if you all get the chance to stay here. The breakfast buffet is huge and then somemore, you might begin to think is this breakfast buffet or a dinner buffet. Its definitely a big reason why you need to stay here. The pool is great and so inviting. Siem Reap wouldn't have been an amazing trip if it weren't for the people at Borei. Especially to John who like Thomas was just ready to help us every step of the way. John also helped us find kids we can give some gifts to. He even went out of his way to bring us to the kids place on his rest day. He is just a great guy. Siem reap is excellent. Dont hesitate to travel here is awesome. Food is great, Angkor Wat is beyond belief. Pub street is fun. And the people are just so welcoming and friendly. Only downside is there is not a lot of shopping to do there but I guess that's just secondary. Siem reap is truly a destination to be experienced.

A pleasant surprise”

Staff, the pool area, the spa

After we decided to extend our stay in Siem Reap we booked two days in Borei Angkor Resort. When we arrive very early (at noon) I didn't expect our room to be ready, and it wasn't. But instead of making us wait, they upgraded us to the four floor, which is the executive floor. This floor comes with its own lounge, concierge, and balconies that have suspended beds. Since we were upgraded, we didn't get all the privileges offered, such as the free concierge services, but they were so sweet they invited us into the lounge for free drinks and snacks. The room was spacious, and the balcony with the suspended swing was great to watch sunsets from. The pool area is huge, though not enough lounge chairs. We decided to have a spa treatment, and the spa was very nice. The men's locker room as has a dry sauna, a steam room, and a soaking tub and cold plunge pool. The staff were amazingly friendly. The buffet breakfast is huge with many offerings. A very nice hotel.

Great 5-star hotel with excellent service”

Swimming Pool, Helpful Staff, Spacious Room

borei angkor was the second hotel we stayed during our anniversary trip to siem reap, the first hotel was great, so when we were about to move to borei angkor, i couldn't help but wonder: is it a good decision to change a hotel? but borei angkor didn't let me down. the moment we stepped into the lobby, we were welcomed by the wonderful staff there. and the hotel even upgraded us to a royal suite... the suite is so big and cozy with a jacuzzi in the bathroom, and even has a tub on the balcony. this was really sweet to us since we were on our anniversary trip. the hotel is well maintained and decorated in a local style, and the service is definitely 5-star. i especially enjoyed the big swimming pool, and the cocktail from the bar besides it. its easy to move around in the town, the tuk tuk drivers are always waiting just outside the gate. this hotel is absolutely the highlight of our trip. we recommend it to anyone who plans to visit siem reap, you won't regret your choice.

Classy resort with superb staff”

Excellent room, very nice swimming pool & bar, primary location

Borei Angkor Resort & Spa is by far the best luxury resort in Siem Reap. I was immediately greeted by the staff members (in particular, they assign one person to follow you all the way through your stay) & upgraded for free to a landmark room with a nice view on the swimming pool garden. The room was very nice, large, with comfortable beds and nicely furnished. The swimming pool is quite large, and I particularly liked the bar service with inexpensive cocktails all day long (1/2 price during the 2 hrs happy hours). Internet in the room was a bit slow, but they provided a cable for faster connection. The hotel also organizes trips to the major attractions, with a smaller service fee but the service is safe and reliable. Highly reccommended

Lovely hotel - great value”

Five Star service and features without the five star price tag

Beautiful hotel in a quiet area of Siem Reap. We arrived quite early, before our room was ready, but we were made very welcome with a drink and checking us in. We also arranged our bus booking for our travel to Phnom Penh - all at 8am before we were even checked in as a guest. Our Landmark room was lovely, spacious, clean and comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised to come back to our room in the evening to find the bed turned back and a full bath complete with flower petals. Funny thing though, as an Australian that is used to water restrictions I felt really guilty about seeing so much water in the bath so had to use it. Only thing missing was a bell to ring when I wanted my wine glass topped up! We only dined in the hotel for breakfast and found lots to choose from. A good range of beautiful fresh fruits, pastries and a variety of cooked dishes. Service in the dining room was the same as the rest of the hotel, attentive without being obtrusive, very nice. We walked to Pub Street and the markets which took about 15 minutes. The footpaths near the hotel are not great (almost nonexistent) so you need to be a bit careful not to get too close to the traffic, but otherwise it was fine. Tuk tuks were also readily available at the hotel. We were only in Siem Reap for a few days and spent most of the time out of the hotel exploring the sights so did not have a lot of time to enjoy the features of the hotel. We would definitely stay at the Borei Angkor again so that we could relax and enjoy the facilities.

Borei Angkor Resort”

Cleanliness, Location, Design

The Borei Angkor Resort enhanced our experience futher at Siem Reap. The rooms were flawless - we were comfortable at our stay. Moreover, the location provided us with the ease of going to all tourist areas in no time. It took only 15 minutes to get to the Angkor Wat. Furthermore, it took 5 minutes to get to the famous circus and apsara show in Siem Reap. However, we were not satisfied with the service. We ordered breakfast for early pickup, which was acknowledged by the staff, but didnt receive it. We ordered to fix our safe over 2 times - but both times we had no staff come in to fix our safe. At the end of the trip, we asked them to inform us when our driver arrived downstairs. They didnt tell us for over 1 hour! We asked then and they said the driver was here 2 hours ago. Overall, I quite enjoyed this experience with them. I would recommend The Borei Angkor Resort improve staff and service to help keep their customers satisfied further!

Awesome place to stay when in Siem Reap.”

Room, Breakfast, Service

Staying at the Borei Angkor proved to be the right choice. Chose this hotel after reading all the positive feedback, and it proved to be true. Service was fantastic at this 5star hotel. There was a problem with the air conditioner compressor but a technician came up in 10mins and fixed the whole issue in less than an hour. The hotel manager also offered to change the room if the air conditioner wasn't working well after fixing. Took a landmark room which was beautiful. The breakfast buffet spread deserves its reputation for being one of the best in Siem Reap. Arranging tours for Angkor Wat was a breeze via the hotel tour desk, and doesn't cost that much more to be honest. Taking a tuktuk to pub street or old market was easy and only takes less than 10mins to get there. Overall, I would definitely stay at the Borei Angkor again when I return to Siem Reap.

Comfortable resort that met my expectations”

Service, amenities, cleanliness, accessibility

The Borei Angkor Resort & Spa was a comfortable resort for those looking for a bit of isolation from the Siem Reap backpacker scene. It has all of the pre-requirements that a well-run hotel in Southeast Asia should have - a pool, spa, knowledgeable staff, a hearty buffet breakfast - but achieving this in Cambodia is always a bit more of a struggle. For that reason alone, the Borei is a good choice. The main drawback is its location. Borei is located on a busy, dusty street that tourists wouldn't want to walk out onto. The hotel is an approximate 7-minute tuk tuk ride from the main downtown area, which certainly isn't far, expensive or difficult to achieve, but if you're staying in Siem Reap you would want to be close to Pub Street. Because of this, Borei tries to position itself as a standalone oasis where leaving the resort's grounds is not a necessity - which it achieves. The rooms are clean and the hotel is new, but it doesn't exude quite the same luxurious ambiance that other five-star resorts seem to radiate. That said, it was a lovely stay and the staff was wonderful. I would recommend this for travelers who want the pre-packaged, hassle-free vacation experience: not for single travelers or backpackers. For that, stay downtown.

Luxurious Hotel; Lousy Service from Front Desk”

Luxurious Rooms, Jacuzzi, Breakfast

I wrote a positive review about Borei Angkor Resort & Spa earlier but I am afraid this is not the case this time. I paid more for a Landmark Twin Room with the hope of making the most out of our stay at Borei Angkor Resort & Spa. My sister and I arrived before 1 p.m. and our room was not yet ready so we waited at the lobby. Shortly, the front desk staff suggested that we wait at the poolside bar and we were escorted there. After a while we were feeling uncomfortable as it was hot outside so we decided to return to the main building, near the business center. When our room was already available we were happy to see the elegance of the Landmark Twin Room. We tried to connect to the internet but without success so I asked my sister to call the front desk staff who promised to send someone to our room. We waited for sometime, but no one showed up. We made two follow up calls, and waited again for sometime. After our third call, I was already feeling frustrated and upset, especially, realizing that we waited for about three hours and the problem has not ben solved. I asked one of the lady staff to relay my disappointment to the manager on duty. Mr. Sean Saing came to our room and in one phone call he managed to send a technical guy to fix the problem. He was apologetic and offered to transfer us to a suite which I declined. Nevertheless, I accepted his offer for a complimentary bottle of red wine. He was very professional in dealing with the situation. In terms of facilities, Borei Angkor Resort & Spa has everything a five star resort should have. However, the management should ensure that their staff at the front line are not only properly trained but professional enough to meet the expectations of guests paying a premium price for the luxury, comfort and service expected from the property's five star rating.

Absolutely Superb”

I have stayed at The Borei Angkor Resort & Spa on 4 separate occasions, both on business and pleasure. Thanks to The Head of Experience Mr. Sophea Chan, and his staff consisting of Ms. Sokunthea Liem (Jenny), and Mr. Bona Try and many others they accommodated my every need and provided a service that is comparable to some of the finest 5* hotels I have stayed in globally. I have recommended the hotel to several friends from around the world who were also extremely impressed with the facilities and service provided. I recommend the resort to anyone with high standards looking for a gorgeous location to unwind in Siem Reap, and personally will always make it my hotel of choice. Thanks again, Peter Moglione

Perfect place for a getaway ”

My partner and I booked the Borei Angkor for our short trip in Siem reap. We absolutely loved our stay! The hotel is only about a half hour by tuk tuk to Angkor Wat, and less than 10min to Pub Street. The staff are so hospitable and polite and made us feel very welcomed. The room was spacious and well equipped. The pool and spa was also very good. We both had a massage at the Mudita Spa and were very impressed. attention to detail is on point! Breakfast buffet had a lot of choice and was very good quality. Our only regret is not extending our stay at this beautiful resort. We will definitely stay here again when we visit Siem reap!

5 star treatment? Ask for WATTANA! (Front desk)”

VIP treatment, nice spa & superb breakfast buffet

Our trip got altered because the airline changed our departure date(long story) w/c meant we needed to stay 1 more day in Siem Reap. Our temple tour guide took us to a few hotels but we chose to book @ Borei Angkor because of its luxurious feel and top rated staff especially Wattana! We casually mentioned that we'd be celebrating our 13th wedding anniversary, we didn't expect he'd go above & beyond by upgrading us to a suite w/ a gorgeous rose laden black marble tub. A king-sized bed filled w/ roses and chilled champagne!!! We were in awe!!! Our flight out of Siem Reap was @ 2230, so Wattana arranged a late check out and gave us access to their spa. We worked out in their airconditioned gym then used the sauna, steam room & jacuzzi. We relaxed by the pool for a few hours where they have excellent food & beverage choices. Unfortunately our tab was too high compared to the meals we've had in Cambodia. $33 for snacks is too pricey especially if you can get a nice meal elsewhere w/ that amount!

Elegance at a reasonable price”

Elegant with all the features of a 5 star hotel, even a private balcony.
The business center could be improved. Services, such as internet and fax are costly and security questionable - no printer or fax in the room, etc. I was told the fax was a reasonable price per minute; however, the clerk walked my fax (which had private information on it) into a separate room and took an extremely long time to fax 2 pages for which I had to pay about $45. So, I wouldn't recommend the "business center."

If you are looking for elegance after a hot and dusty adventure through Cambodia's temple ruins, Borei Angkor offers all the amenities of a 5 star hotel at a reasonable price. The resort hotel and large swimming pool/patio area are set back a safe and quiet distance off the busy, dusty streets of Siem Reap. The rooms are very spacious, most with lovely private balconies. The breakfast (included in the room price) is a fantastic buffet, complete with European, American and Asian dishes and always fresh fruits and freshly squeezed fruit juices. They even have a tea room with yummy desserts. A somewhat hidden treat is the lounge located near the roof top - it is a perfect spot for a romantic evening. The courteous, well trained staff are keenly aware of the guests' comfort, which is what makes Borei so enjoyable.

Great hotel and service! Loved our stay.”

Beautiful hotel and rooms. Great costumer service.

My family came to visit and we got a deal on staying at the Borei Angkor Resort and Spa - we loved it! Truly an up-scale hotel/resort. We were treated very well and were happy with our rooms. The hotel staff are great. My one complaint would be there not being enough pool furniture to find chairs but I would most definitely stay here again! Well, and I wish it were closer to the main street with the markets and Pub Street... last time I was in Siem Reap I could walk it but not from Borei... it's only a $2 tuk-tuk ride though, so no big deal.

Excellent Hotel”

This was my twelfth time staying at the Borei Angkor Resort/Hotel. I would never stay at any other hotel in Siem Reap. The location is excellent - near but not too near - the centre of town so everything is easily accessible. The staff are superb. It would be difficult to get better. Each time I write a review I just name two of the staff - this time they are Mr. Rotha and Mr. Joy. Mr. Rotha works in the lobby and Mr, Joy is in the small outside café and the Banqueting Hall. But all the staff really require special mention if it were possible. The amenities at the hotel are excellent as are the dining facilities. I could just mention each thing individually, but it would be better just to sum up the entire place as "SUPERB". I have told many people to stay there and all of them have raved about the place and many have gone back a second and third time.
