    “A great deal, but...”

Overall: Definitely worth staying here for the room, despite check-in frustrations. I don't enjoy writing mixed reviews, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to do that here. It may be because I'm old-school and like to have people to talk to when I check in, but I'll get back to that later. First, the good stuff: The location was not far from the train station in Miyajimaguchi, and was quite close to the JR Ferry, so if you're there to travel to the island, it's a great spot. The room is VERY big, particularly for the price, and the two beds were comfortable if a bit surprisingly soft. There was an assortment of various bathroom supplies provided (beyond what hotels usually offer), as well as incidentals like tea packets and that kind of thing. Everything was clean, neat, and tidy, and there was a booklet with instructions on how to use various things such as the projector. The bathroom was very clean and well stocked with everything one would expect to find. Overall the room was great. So thank you for that! Now for the not-so-great stuff: One minor nitpick was that the projection TV had a huge black spot projected, and it was clearly a whole bunch of dead pixels. Additionally, it wasn't very bright, so unless you're watching a movie with the lights off, it might be hard to see. But the real thing that got me was the check-in process. I followed the directions, but their ipad was being stubborn at first (I'm not an ipad user, so it's possible this is partly my fault for not knowing how to navigate a home screen, but in my opinion, one should press the 'on' button and immediately be taken to the check-in screen, not have to LOOK for the icon for it). Since I initially couldn't get the ipad to work, I tried using my phone, which worked until I got to the part about "taking a photo of your passport" bit, at which point their web page would not let me use anything but the selfie cam. Have you ever tried taking a photo of a passport, CLEARLY, with the selfie cam? I couldn't. Nor would it let me proceed even after I got a passable photo (at which point I fired off a frustrated email to the contact, because I can't make calls to Japanese phone numbers). Anyway, it eventually worked out, but not before I'd gotten extremely frustrated to the point of considering looking for somewhere else to stay. In the end I'm glad I didn't, but just make sure you're well versed with ipad operations if you decide to stay here. :)

Double Room with Two Double Beds
Stayed 1 night in December 2025

“The room is on the second floor, up the stairs.”

I booked this accommodation for visiting a friend near Miyajima and for sightseeing in Miyajima. The location is perfect! The ferry terminal to Miyajima is a 1-minute walk, and the train station is within a 5-minute walk. Right next door, there is a parking lot that costs a maximum of 700 yen per day (on weekdays), which was very convenient. (On holidays, there was no maximum charge.) As for meals, For dinner, we went to a dining place on the 2nd floor of the hotel right in front of us, and for lunch the next day, we went to the main store of Anago-don Ueno on the street in front of the station. The taste here was truly unforgettable. I want to eat it again. The room was on the 2nd floor, and there were only stairs, which made it a bit challenging to carry luggage, but it wasn't a problem. The bed is a softer type that sinks in when you sit on it. The scent of the air freshener in the bathroom was a bit strong and uncomfortable, and since there was no humidifier, I wanted to humidify the room, but there was no place to hang wet towels or similar items. Other than that, There was a large sofa, and the changing area in the bathroom was spacious, with large windows and doors that provided good ventilation, and there was a big mirror fixed to the wall for makeup, I could hear a little bit of the voices from the neighboring room, but it was quiet overall, and I was able to spend my time comfortably. My son’s voice might have disturbed the neighbors a bit. I noticed upon arrival that there were pet toilets and cleaning tools available, and since there aren't many accommodations that allow pets, I'm really grateful for that!

    “Good cost-performance.”

Both the JR line station and the ferry terminal are within walking distance, and using Google Maps will get you there without getting lost. The access is very good. There are convenience stores and restaurants in the neighborhood, so you won't have any trouble finding food. Unlocking the entrance and checking in went smoothly. I wasn't quite sure how to use the tablet (it might have had some settings issues), so I scanned the QR code next to the tablet to check in. Pre-registration is required. When making a reservation, read the manual sent by the accommodation, and you should be fine following those instructions. By the way, I didn’t receive the email with the manual that was supposed to be sent by Agoda after booking for quite some time, so I contacted the accommodation directly. I became anxious thinking about what might happen, but the response from the accommodation was quick and clear. The stairs might be challenging with a large suitcase. The room I stayed in, Room 203, was a cute space with a pink theme. It was cold, so I didn't use it, but there is a spacious balcony, which would be nice for having breakfast. It is non-smoking, but when I entered the room, there was a slight smell reminiscent of a karaoke box or pachinko parlor. This was resolved with the deodorizing spray provided in the room. The heating worked well, and since it was a freezing day with snow, I was glad to step into a warm room. The room was clean, with tidy linens and a clean bathroom area. The shower temperature and water pressure were also fine. I didn’t use the projector as I wasn’t sure how to operate it, so I spent my time looking at my own tablet. The WiFi was good. Based on the reviews, I didn’t have high expectations aside from good access, but I had a very satisfying stay.

    “Great location, loved the lobby”

Didn't see a single staff - no problem about that. Check-in on the iPad was a bit tiresome but that was probably because we were tired. Not a fan of the sink being outside but that's personal preference. Bed was squishy but some may like that. Hotel was right outside the ferry so it was very easy coming out and hopping over to Miyajima. Otherwise, clean and comfortable so I'm very glad. Wish I could've spent more time in the lobby, looks great

    “Not recommended for international traveller”

The location was excellent. However, my same day reservation was not picked up for their reservations team and I did not receive the neccessary instructions even allow myself into the building. Another couple was coming in and we managed to follow them into the building where there is a QR code for me to contact the hotel via Line. There were no staff to assist with check-in and everything is self service. Their tablet asked for a confirmation number and I tried all the confirmation numbers given by Agoda and none worked. Tried to contact them via Line but nobody was responding and I had to call their emergency hotline using my roaming line, the hotline serves all of their hotel so it took 8 mins just to for the staff to find my reservation, the language barrier made it harder to understand each other. Finally, she gave me a confirmation number which worked with the tablet. However the tablet has a weird keyboard which covered part of the questionnaire which we have to fill. It took us 2 tries cause the first time I submitted, there were no Internet and my submission was lost. At the end of the process the tablet was suppose to give me the room's code but I saw no code, luckily the staff decided to send me a code via Line and I finally managed to enter the room after 1 hr. The room is on the 3rd storey and the building does not have a lift, so we had to carry our pretty heavy and bulky luggage up ourselves. The room is actually pretty nice and very big for Japanese standards. It's also clean with a good sized wash area. However, next morning, I discovered I cannot store my luggage at the hotel, although they offered to let me store at their sister hotel which is 30 mins away by train in Hiroshima, or use the luggage sending service which is usually available at Japanese hotel receptions. After incurring at least 25 dollars worth of international call during check-in. I really regretted and felt that I should have just booked the Miyajima Coral Hotel next d
