The best choice for the money, great location”
Very friendly staff, helpful, very good and cheap food on restaurant under house, very good breakfest for good money, near to city, near to see. Only little noisy, if you have room with windows to the street. I like come back next year, for this money the best what you can get

A lovely and relaxing 'getaway'!”
Room facilities were very basic and more budget/backpacker than international standard. Location is excellent, being in the center of the bar/restaurant area and 10 minutes walk to either way to the beach or the ferry pier. Room did NOT have a wash/hand basin. TV did not have any English channels, but Internet wifi was good and relatively fast. Not recommended if you wish to stay in your room too much, but who does that on Koh Samet anyway? Overall, I would choose it again for value and location.

Erm, niceish place but it's still being built!”
We arrived at the guesthouse around half 7 - 8pm after some difficulty locating it. There is a coffee shop (Sidewalk Cafe) at the front of the hotel but it isn't obvious that this is the reception area or even anything to do with the hotel. The only sign for Ban Bestone is on the corner of the street with an arrow pointing up the road so we walked up and down in the dark for about 10 mins before speaking to a couple who were sitting outside their room. Only then did we find out that the building the cafe was part of was actually Ban Bestone. The staff of the hotel had packed up and gone elsewhere despite our booking. Having no local sim we then had to locate a pay phone to find out where the staff were. We finally got in our room at least half hour after arriving at the hotel and had to pay a 500 baht deposit for the key. On the advice of the other couple we turned down the first room as it reeked of damp. The second room we were offered seemed ok but we then discovered it had an air con unit that didn't work and no fan so I had to go and ask for a fan. I should tell you now that the room in the photos is one of the upstairs balcony rooms in the front (finished-ish) building and that the other rooms don't look that nice at all. They have a kind of mismatched 90s council house vibe (from someone who grew up in a 90s council house) with gaudy, nylon bedlinen in really odd colour choices. I should also mention that the young staff speak no English and it's a bugger trying to get anything across to them. The bathroom in our room was badly finished and there was no sink so we had to shower to clean our teeth and clothing. There was also a random unfinished room next to it which was full of huge spiders and locusts Despite all this it's worth staying here for convenience and the nice sitting area outside; if you pay a little more for an air con room on the other side, they are much nicer and almost finished (we got a sink but it wasn't plumbed in properly).

yeah its alright”
This hotel is right on the boundary of the national park you enter to get to the main beach in koh samet. Its really clean, modern and new looking inside. The only downside was the noise, as you are on the 'main road' leading to the beach and there are two 24hr seven eleven's on the street below you (directly opposite each other and both busy all day!) apart from that its a great place to stay and reasonably priced. There is a cute nurse at the international clinic who gave me a jab in the butt I quite enjoyed, as I contracted acute tonsilitis after swallowing too much moat water in chiang mai during songkran. Yeah its alright, book it dude.

comfortable, relaxed, friendly”
The staff, a couple, were so friendly. They went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. The location is a little far from the town but close to parks and shopping centre. The guest house is beautiful and modern, and the bed was so comfortable. Would recommend it easily.

Nice hotel, clean & brand new comfortable room”
Stayed 1 night there, the room was clean, spacious and conformable (hot water, A/C, TV, tables & chairs to have a drink...). A good choice for budget travellers who need a little comfort after a tiring day exploring Samet! The down side of this place is the location. You will need a 10 to 15 minutes walk to reach Sakaew Beach. Overall it's a nice place and we enjoyed our stay!

clean rooms, friendly staff, good coffee”
The guest house in general was good. However, it consists of 2 buildings and the one further from the main road and with larger rooms has no sinks! Beware of sinkless rooms - they are not comfy at all even for 1 night... We liked the coffee downstairs, you can also have breakfast or other meals but the restaurant closes at 8pm. A few local restaurants around this hotel. The area around the hotel was improved a lot - a lovely cozy yard is nice to look at from the balcony. First, we booked half of our stay at this guest house and by the middle of the stay we felt so good there that decided to stay till the end.

Very pleasant and nice accomodation”
Very appreciate the familiar way of accomodation and basicly the kidness and big willingness of staff. We was very statisfied with everything like distance to the beach or cuisine. One little thing is the noise from the street, but its nothing for what we should thing about other accomodation. We are looking forward to visit "our family" next year, absolutely fell in love with this place ,)

Thai Room”
Basic rooms with fridge and TV (Thai programmes only), some rooms with AC (fan 700 Baht, AC 1200 Baht). +: New built, small garden (10m2 for all rooms) in front. Clean. No moskitos. Near street with shops and tasty streetfood. Central position: 5 minutes to beach, 5 minutes to pier. .: No terrace, no hammock. No washbasin, but stucco on the ceiling . Near street (noise). Some rooms on groundfloor where you can not sleep with open windows. Good and safe place for sleeping, but of course not a resort or a bungalow. Not a place to stay all day. It is cheap. And for that price it is okay.

You get what you pay for...”
It was alright. The rooms are in the process of being upgraded and are nicer than when we last stayed. It's basic but clean and easily livable. We found the owners to be shy and kind (whish is not at all unusual in Thailand). They were friendly and happy to help out whenever we spoke to them. Samet water is yellow so bring some bottles to brush your teeth.

Lovely balcony but bed never changed”
Owner was a bit one-worded but lad that showed us room was good. Room (sheets and towels) was never changed in 3 nights but it was good size with nice wooden furniture, great balcony with seating and functioning wet room, no sink though! Which was strange but we got over it. After taxes was quite expensive for our budget but it was a nice room. Computers downstairs with free wifi were a bonus. Great location 2 minutes walk up from main pier. Would recommend.

Difficult to find”
The room was a good size and clean but the bathroom doesn't have a sink. Difficult to find as no sign on the hotel realized on check out we should have gone to the office over the road to check in. To get there walk from harbour and look for hotel sign on right side of road not the one pointing up the street on left as there is no sign on the hotel and we were just lucky someone was there cleaning when we arrived. Easy to walk to beach and national park area. Only stayed for one night as a stop over before going to a beach resort.

not a bad little place”
My stay was good enough, unfortunately the ferry there went to a different beach so had to get a songteaw there and a farang on koh samet struggles a bit not getting ripped off blind but hey they have to make a living. The thai guy running the show in this hotel seems a little moody but might of just been having a bad day! Overall i will definately go back to koh samet but maybe not stay here.

Cheap, no sheets for the cover, good location”
I lived in Side Walk Boutique for three nights and got the exact same room as when I stayed here at Ban Best One Guesthouse. The only difference was that I got breakfast at Side Walk Boutique.

Decent for the money”
One of the cheapest places to stay on the island. We stayed for three nights and found everything to be comfortable. However, our room did get really musty and damp. We booked a fan room and found this to be fine, and there was hot water in the shower as well as a sink. The staff were pretty much nonexistent, we only saw them when we arrived and when we left. Overall, I would say you get what you pay for, and this was decent value for the money.

Decent Accomodations”
I arrived at 8:45 pm and the hotel was dark and locked up. There were no hours posted and luckily some nice fellow travelers called the reception desk, I didn't have a phone, to get reception to come down and open up for me to check in. I asked the man who checked me in what time reception closes and he said 9, however he was clearly gone much much earlier. Just make sure you don't try and check in after 6 pm or you might have to find another hotel on the island to stay at.

Good location but a noisy, bright room”
The bed was large and comfortable, the shower room was modern and it provided a good shower. The service was friendly and quick - the free breakfast was good. Some severe drawbacks though - the room was really noisy. Both the passing traffic and the air con which made the room shudder on an hourly basis made it too hard to sleep. The room I had had two windows - one had curtains and was fine; the other permitted too much street light into my room at night though the frosted glass. Again this made it difficult to get restful night of sleep. The resort wasn't complete, so ongoing building work was a little disruptive too.

Not bad”
We went there during a long weekend holiday. We booked our room the night before we go to Koh Samed. I think the room price should be cheaper than the actual price because there are better hotels that are near the beach shore that has the same price as this. The water is a bit yellowish so bring your own water bottle for brushing your teeth.

Cheap, Backpacker hotel”
The room was not big, but very good for the price, and it´s located very near for restaurants and the beach.
