Well placed ”

Baan Saikao Hotel & Service Apartment are right in the centre of White Sandy Beach, they are clean and well maintained, the reception staff gave me the impression that they could not careless whether you book in to the hotel/apartments or not but the bedroom cleaners seamed very pleasant. The only thing is that 5pm every night a guy turns up outside the apartments selling food with his radio on full blast and you can hear the constant drone of the music in the bedrooms, this has been the case every time we stayed at Baan Saikao which is a shame, the management should do something about this noise

Centrally located and comfortable”

If you want a view of any scenery you are not going to get that at the Baan Saikao Hotel, White Sands beach area. However, if you want a good location, comfortable and large clean rooms, this is certainly the place to stay. The check in and out was swift and efficient. The few staff members that I met were friendly,helpful and their understanding of English was okay. The beach is across the road and the hotel is located opposite the Sabay Bar which was frequented every night and the entertain provided at the bar was certainly good. If you need to rent a motorbike to get around the island you may rent one right outside the hotel reception for about 200 to 300 baht a day. Koh Chang is certainly not cheap when it comes to food and drinks, so make provision for that if you want to enjoy your holiday. Tours of the island can be arranged and booked at the reception desk. The only downside at the hotel was the internet which was weak, as a result the guests crowded around the small reception area to make use of a better internet signal. I gave up after day one and decided that maybe it was a good thing to stay away from the internet while on holiday. Would I stay there again, the answer is yes, unless I find a better place in the area for the same price. I think I made a good choice of staying at the Baan Saikao Hotel. By the way there are no dining facilities but there are a few restaurants about that do offer a breakfast at a price.

The hotel was fine, a little difficult to find as Google Maps places it in the middle of Koh Chang (it's located by Chester's Grill, incidentally). The location is truly perfect, seconds from the beach. Quite quiet once inside the hotel and the room is nice (although wasn't the cleanest). No internet and phone signal struggled inside the rooms. Pictures of rooms all showed two beds but all rooms rented only had doubles. Interesting tidbit: the name of the hotel seems to change depending on where you look: Baansaikao; Baan Saikao; Baan Sai Khao.

A great affordable place to stay.”

I've stayed at Baan Saikao Hotel on a number of occasions and have enjoyed every visit. The hotel is located across the street from White Beach and is within walking distance to a number of great places to eat (hotel does not have a restaurant). Rooms are very clean and comfortable; staff is friendly but low key. I would put it in the budget hotel category; however, it's not a backpacker hang-out or dive. A great affordable place to stay while you're in White Beach.

Nice family stay”

My stay at Baan Saikao Hotel was lovely with my wife.The location is the best you can ask for this price range.You only need to cross the road and you can view crystal clear White Sand Beach.The room is cleaned everyday.The staff is helpful but they are not very much comfortable in English which is common in entire Thailand I guess.Some guests suggested that the bed is rock hard but we haven't faced any issue while sleeping.The only concern was there was no mobile network available inside the room.I used DTAC sim but unable to get any signal inside our room.Overall it was a nice stay.

Large and cheap accommodation near the beach”

Read a review before booking our room that praised the location and size of the accommodation, and I must agree; the room was very generous for its price, and you just had to cross the street to get to the beach. There's lots of beachside restaurants nearby, and it's not too far from the ferry to the mainland either (which is good since the taxis are in no way comfortable on koh chang). On the negative side we got a room with hillside view, meaning there was nothing but trees outside the window, the TV had kind of poor reception, and the bed was on the hard side (didn't bother me, but some prefer soft). If you plan excursions the location is so-so; you're in the middle of the main road of the island (it's not a full circle road), but there's no real attractions around, and diving is mostly at far south part of the island. I would suggest hiring a scooter next door if you want to do anything but lying on the beach. Overall it was well worth its low price for good quality.

spacious clean room inc. bathroom. low points for food as not a 3 star, there is no food place on premises or any form of entertainment, the apartments have kettles microwave etc. to make snacks.The maid is in every day.WiFi not so hot you have to go out to the main hall, stand by the elephant for a decent signal. the Saber bar is across the road and it is a must for all ages step of the restaurant area and you are on the beach which is gorgeous. as is the same for most of the cafe restaurant discos hotels along the beaches of Koh Chang. tourist shop and 7-11 too the right so everything here to explore the Island as well as the other nearby island.

Best Budget Place in Koh Chang”

I had missed my flight from my country & reached this place 1 day later than original bookings. I dropped in a mail to request adjustments & they happily did. It was everything that we had seen & read on Agoda. We had to pull our luggage to the third floor (I had requested for a higher floor while booking). Post this initial physical burn out the fun began. The room was excellently placed. Post reading the reviews, we opted for back facing rooms. While the view is not great (better we keep the curtains closed, there will be no noise that you will hear at night). The size of the room was great, Washroom was awesome (no bath tub) - it's see through from the room with a curtain pull down option. TV, with almost no English channel options, Fridge, 24hrs hot water, Good size bed (contrary to the reviews I read online that the beds are hard), Yes they may be for some. I found it to be comfortable. The beach is like just crossing the road. The apartment is located in a great place. You can hire a scooter for 200 baht right outside the hotel. Now the bad part about the stay here.... No in room or out room lockers available, No Tea / coffee maker, No Lift, No Pool (you have beach, so not really required), No Breakfast as there is No Restaurant. But you have a 7/11 close by, Chester Grill (awesome burgurs) & some great eatery options near by. Try 15 Palms Beach resort for breakfast & food. We use to go there to eat. Awesome place. No Wi-fi in the room. In all, I will stay here again. BOOK on Agoda as the rack rates are expensive.

Best value rooms in Koh Chang”

Nice clean hotel with huge room and very spacious bathroom. Prime location on main road along White Sand Beach so no need to hike. If you find name of the hotel quite mouthfull you can ask to be dropped at Chester Grill or Buffallo Bill Steakhouse since this hotel is right next door. The price might not be suitable for penny pincher backpackers but we enjoyed our two days stay in here. The only drawback is that it's located right across Sabay Bar so it can be quite noisy at night, but with one cheap earplug it should be no problem.

This hotel is one of the best budjet hotels at white sand beach... (One of the most developed beaches of Koh Chang). It's near everything although its little overpriced. Has big rooms and the stuff was polite to us. It's recommended mostly for couples and families. Backpackers and solo travelers will find cheaper places to stay near by , if budget holidays is their first concern.

Great mid priced apartments”

This is the 2nd time i have stayed at Baan Saikao. Once again the rooms are spacious clean and quite modern. Only a stone throw away from White Sands. I spent one week here over the New year period. The staff seemed to be more helpful and cheerful than last year, so was a big improvement. The cleaning staff were good, only downfall was we had ants in our room, but were only in the bathroom area.The bed is very large, probably a super King size. I would definitely stay here again when i return to Koh Chang

Right in the heart of White Sand beach”

Hotel location is perfect, 1min walk to White Sand Beach, just cross the road and walk through the Sea Sand bar/restaurant. Rooms are very spacious and king sized beds are comfy. Strong AC and water pressure in the shower. Our no.1 pick if you don't want to stay in the beach side resort and your budget is around 30 euro a night.

A good hotel in the centre of White Sand Beach.”

The reception is small but the staff were polite and helpful. Reception is closed between 22.00 and 06.00 which means you have to take your key with you on a night time but this was not a problem. We had a deluxe room which was huge and was cleaned everyday for free. If you want new sheets, towels etc you have to pay a small charge, we were only there 3 nights so this did not affect us. The hotel has a central location with restaurants and bars close at hand, if you like a late drink there is a nightclub across the road, the room was still very quiet though. The hotel has no pool but the beautiful White Sand beach is just across the road. The hotel does not do food so there is no breakfast but with restaurants close at hand, and we like to eat out and try different places, this was not a problem. All in all a very enjoyable stay and if we stop in White Sand Resort on our next trip to Koh Chang we will stop at this hotel.

Great stay here and across from the beach”

Awesome staying here. Super big room with a massive bed. Clean white sheets and great air con. Massive nice bathroom and good shower. Right across the road from the beach and surrounded by shops am restaurants. 7-Eleven right underneath and plenty of spas and travel agents nearby. Very modern feeling, big hotel and good service. A little priced than other places but worth it for the standards. Nice to have a kettle too! Staying again in a couple of weeks. Great location on White Sand Beach. Shame about the lack of good English TV chanels though...

Fire on the top floor, staff was professional”

While we were staying there a fire started in the staff room upstairs. Luckily it did not spread and nobody was hurt. Apparently there is no smoke alarm in the building. When someone told the front desk staff about the fire, they immediately ran back into the building and began pounding on doors and screaming for everyone to get out. It took nearly 45 mins for a fire truck to arrive. Locals said this was the first major fire that has happened on White Sand beach. After the blaze was extinguished, the staff assisted us in retrieving our belongings and they moved us to their sister hotel Chang Buri down the street. There was not a lot of smoke damage inside the building, thus I imagine they will reopen rather quickly. I hope they will consider installing a smoke alarm. Things could have gotten uglier if a fire had broken out overnight.

Adorable aparts in Paradise”

Probably one of the best place at White Sand beach: good price, 15 meters from Sea and comfortable rooms. Its everything you need on this paradise island. It's located on 2 lines, but on White sand too many tourists to stay at 1st line.

Great location, beautiful room for the price”

The hotel was really clean, the room was large and comfortable. the staff was friendly too. Some may say it was noisy because of the bars on the beach but we slept really well and didn't a lot of noise at night. White Sand beach is more for families, but still the beach is amazing, lots of restaurants, shops and bars nearby.

Cons: elevators in koh chang hotels are a rare occasion so plan accordingly. Also there is a lot of trips that can be planned from this location. Try the 4 or 5 islands, it is a great day adventure, cheapest price we found for the 4 island was 600 baht+200 baht for the national park. National park not so fun but every day trip pass by there. Also exchange places and atms are everywhere so dont be afraid of running out of money. December is a nice time to visit the island as it is not so hot but warm enough to swim and relax. Totally happy we visit this beautiful place.

Good hotel, very clean and tidy. Quality rooms and friendly staff. Guest friendly. Excellent value for money compared to ripoff White Sands prices. Paloma Cliff hotel (standard rooms) to be avoided and are over priced.
