"I am picky. I am typically critical. And I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed my stay at the Ascott Raffles City Beijing. We stayed during National Day week for 3 nights and loved every aspect of the hotel. Room was clean and spacious (we did opt for largest 1 bedroom); adjacent to a modern mall with great shopping and convenient grocery store; connected to the subway for fast, easy and economical travel throughout Beijing; very close to Sanlitun Bar District; across the street from the Airport Express - for example, I paid 200 RMB for a cab ride from the airport to the hotel (not knowing any better and it took an hour). The airport express was 25 RMB and it took about 25 mins. The staff all spoke perfectly acceptable English. The food was not only tasty but had nice presentation. Quick note to Agoda bookers: We received breakfast included for two by booking on Agoda whereas the hotel typically only provides one free breakfast when booked on their website. Long story, short....I will definitely stay here on my next trip to Beijing and am looking forward to staying at other Ascotts around the world, despite my Diamond status with Hilton."

"Sansa Village is a beautifully designed oasis outside of the city near great hiking trails, nature, and quiet peace. The rooms are spacious, clean, with an excellent bathtub, and comfortable furnishings. The breakfast is a choice between Chinese, Western, or Japanese and the staff are friendly. Some things they can improve on is by having tea, coffee, and fruit in the rooms which is a standard for higher quality lodging. Also, there is no outside space for dining which seems silly since the location is so beautiful. Some of the rooms have no private sitting area outside and all the food took a long time to arrive because they were preparing the meals down the street at their other restaurant. The staff were not knowledgable regarding the hiking trails in the area or food recommendations other than their own. It has so much potential to be a fantastic place, but lacking in a few areas. "

"We booked 2 studio apartment and stayed for 3 days at this hotel, stay in this hotel same as we stay in our home, the equipment is very complete with large refrigerator, washing machine, kitchen, dining table, living room, and even a toilet for guests. while in the main room, we have a 5 star equipment with a jacuzi and a TV in the sink. Right next to the hotel there are many store and several restaurants. wangfujing pedistrian area and wangfujing subway station just a few minutes walk from the hotel. the area in front of the hotel is very quiet, you will doubt its safety, but don't afraid, this hotel is located in one of the safest areas in beijing. Precisely it is the value more of this hotel, you sleep in place which very quiet. I get a very reasonable price from Agoda. thanks to Agoda. I will definitely be back to stay at this hotel in beijing, of course, if the price of a hotel room is not changed. Only as an input to management, you need to add some couches in the lobby, you have so spacious lobby, but only have couch with 8 persons."

"the bad thing is that this hotel isn't close to anything. it is like in the middle of nowhere it seems. the subway is a 5 minute walk which makes it bearable. we chose this hotel because my daughter is going to the communication university of china, and this is only 1 stop away. that made it very convenient. the rooms are absolutely unbelievably huge, with kitchens, washers and dryers, 2 bathrooms.....really comfortable. loved the rooms and they were spotless. room service was 40 rmb for an entree, and 30 rmb for a coke! go figure! breakfast buffet was so so....for 115 rmb i would expect more. chinese chicken was good. apple pie was atrocious and i sent it back. hotel is like a ghost town at night as it is mainly for ex-pats that live there for extended periods, so no one is hanging out in the bar or restaurant at night. there are more people at breakfast as that is included if you live there. the girls went down for a swim excited to use the pool, but took a look at it and changed their minds. i would stay here again for the convenience to the school, and also because of the huge rooms, but i think next time i will stay a couple more subway stations closer to town in a 5 star. "Everything was great about the hotel except it took far to long to check in. About 15 minutes for check in is unacceptable. Other than that, the staff was nice and spoke english which is helpful. The room itself was a good deal but other little things were expensive - like breakfast. The room itself is wonderful and feels more like a new apartment than a room. Much nicer than many other hotels i've stayed in. The pool was freezing cold, but still nice to have. The WIFI was fast, but only on the lobby. Well...I stayed in a room and was able to just get one bar for WIFI in the room, but not sure if all rooms are like that - your room and device may vary. Overall - one of the best hotels I stayed at. Very happy for the price. "

"I went with my 19 year-old son to show him Beijing for the first time (I having been previously once before. Two of us stayed in the triple room for 8 nights, which was spacious and clean. The hotel staff were helpful once they understood what we wanted (e.g. frequency of buses etc.) The location was great (5 min walk from Dongsi sub-way, exit C, but not easy to spot the hotel from outside) and lots of eating places nearby. The location was great for seeing the city sights. We basically stayed in for 2 days because of the smog and there was plenty of room for the two of us. Pity about the TV channels: only Mandarine. "

There's not any room service or any frills like that, but everything you need and could need is closeby. Love the location. Location is perfection."

"the only negative i have is that few staff could speak english; however, all of the staff was very helpful. the washing machine did not work in the first room i stayed. i reported this and the staff immediately moved me to another room - larger and nicer. they also helped me to move all of my luggage, clothes, etc. they then brought in a clothes rack for me to hang my clothes to dry. another time my internet did not work. the technician kept me updated and then came to my room to let me know it was up and working. i enjoyed the location as it was close to shopping, restaurants, and so forth. also a subway station was located directly in front of the hotel."
