"Very nice hotel with an amazing view on the Ao Leuk bay !! The staff was very helpful and gave us free drives to the beach and to the pier as the hotel is a bit far from them. They organised our snorkeling tour and the guide came to pick us up directly at the hotel: perfect ! I would recommand for a couple of days but not for an entire week as it is a bit far from the beach and any other activities. We stayed for 2 nights and it was just PERFECT ! Only thing that we didn't appreciate: they didn't clean the room for our second night. "

"It's really an honor to be the first to review here on Agoda. We stayed here in late July of 2018 and the weather was absolutely amazing the entire stay. 5 stars all the way. This boutique hotel aims to please and does it in rare form. Communication was easy from start to finish. Our stay included pick up and drop off from the Pier. The driver even suggested a place we could rent a motorcycle and it was the same one I had picked after researching. Even the driver knew the best place. So he took me there and waited for me to rent a bike and then I followed him to the hotel. Check in was easy and nice. The room was just immaculate with breathtaking views of the bay/ocean. Every aspect of our stay was obviously considered. The owners/management was on top of it. This was our anniversary/birthday and they didn't miss that. There was a rose petal heart on the bed when we arrived and on her birthday the staff spelled out "Happy Bday" in rose petals as well. Magnificent. We swam in the private pool each day. The view from the pool is unbelievable. Breakfast is cooked in your unit by one of the very sweet staff. We tipped our staff each day. I had eggs, bacon, sausage, orange juice and coffee. She had toast, jam, butter, fruit and coffee. There is the choice of Pain au chocolat. Being French, my gf had to have it. When she first tasted it I thought she was having convulsions! She was so happy that it was really French! Bravo. When you arrive you even receive a cell phone that you can use to communicate with the front desk. This was so useful! We were able to talk to the front desk staff even after hours and get answers about places to go, eat, boats, etc. All of the suggestions (P. Oys!) were fantastic without being overly expensive. Each day the staff comes and lights insect repellant and drops mosquito nets around your bed. We never had an issue w mosquitos and we had the huge doors open all day and night. Brilliant. "We spent a few days here in April and had an amazing time in this beautiful home. Sébastien and his family were so welcoming and friendly. They have thought of everything to make your stay perfect. The fridge was stocked with cold drinks and if you didn't fancy cooking or going out to eat, Mama cooks the most delicious Thai food. We loved her Laab Gai and papaya salad! Philips villa is the perfect holiday home.. Stunning views, a beautiful pool which our two young kids absolutely loved and lovely owners who were so kind and helpful. Taxi's were quick and easy to book through the villa's recommended driver Mr Ho .. he took us to various locations on the island and was always reliable and waiting for us when we needed to be picked up. We wish we could've stayed longer and will definitely be back next time in Koh Tao! We would highly recommend to anyone visiting Koh Tao."

"We've been coming to Thailand for 10 years now and one of our favourite bays to arrive in is Aow Leuk. Don't expect luxury accommodation, no air con but amazing turbo fans x 2 in standard rooms. The views are incredible and if you like Thai food, the restaurant serves excellent cuisine with generous size portions. Deng the owner is lovely with a quiet gentle nature and his staff are great. Snorkelling is fantastic with many varieties of colourful fish and deep clear water. The beach is small with fine white sand and there are 2 resorts, all with sea views. Only 1 shop here but town is easy to get to with 4 wheel drive. Day troopers and tourist boats arrive throughout the day but the beach is closed to the public(guests only) after 5pm... pure bliss! 🐠🌴🕊"

"I booked the “Penthouse pool villa” for 7 nights, 08/13-08/20/19. It looked so good on Agoda and the reviews were great. We stayed for 4 nights and had to move to a real hotel at the beach. The water stopped unpredictably a few times a day everyday and they couldn’t do much. The final draw was on the 4th night that my 9 years old son was in the middle of the shower, had shampoo on his hair and the water stopped running. Texts and calls to Lin Lin were not answered. In a panic (he was screaming that his eyes hurt) I used ice cold drinking water to wash the shampoo off his face and heat up more drinking water to rinse him off. The reason I was told was that the water pump was not powerful enough. When other room used water, ours would be out and nothing they could do about it! What!?! I contacted Francis about the move to the hotel at the beach and he promised a refund on the 3 unused nights but after a few weeks of back and forth. He just disappeared. No more responding to any texts, Agoda messages, or WhatsApp. NO REFUND! If you are reading this, Francis, running water is a necessity and not a luxury. If you cannot provide it, don’t rent out the room!! Anyway here are the pros and cons we’ve found with this place. Pros: Gorgeous views! Spacious Free drinking water kitchen Big Balcony Access to the rooftop with shaded lounge area Peaceful and quiet Less mosquitoes than near the beach but because of the broken screens, windows, and doors, some did get in. Cons: It’s way up high on the hill and transportation is needed to go almost everywhere (except for the Blue Heaven across the street) No stores in a walking distance The taxi that had a “deal” with the villa charged ฿400 for a 10-15 min ride to the beach. So, at least ฿800 a day. The balcony walls are so low, very dangerous Tiny “pool”. It’s about the size of a king size bed Most windows, doors, and screens in need of major repairs. Some couldn’t be opened and most couldn’t be closed properly. Only 1"
