Nostalgic hotel with nice comfy room + priceless human touch”

Aigoh is exactly located at the famous Penang chendol street, so surely it is the centre of the centre. With its prime location, Aigoh probably best for Traveller who are looking for nostalgic, old - school style of friendly, unassuming, sincere, & caring accomodations. Rooms are well-equipped with Comfy bed & air-con, shower room (it's your choice, choose it within or without) are nice sized, easy and hassle-free. The most impressive part of my whole journey in Penang, is the caring and loving staffs! Super sweet and caring, I love you all!

Hidden gem”

Fantastic hotel/hostel. Probably best value I've found in Penang based on coming here 4 times in 6 years, staying at 9 different places. Main reasons: - Newly renovated & clean. - PERFECT location between Chulia and Komtar. Best of both worlds in the heart of Chinatown. - Cheap, delicious food all around. All kinds. - AC all day: many hostels turn it off until 6pm. - Rooms spacious + clean. Pictures accurate. - QUIET. I often oversleep. - Bathrooms: cleaned daily, hot water, good shower pressure, hair driers, and very nice sinks. - Open terrace: relax, chill or work on your laptop (desks for working) - NOT a party hostel. - Great for couples or families, solo travelers or groups - Perfect for nomads/remote workers Areas to improve: - Facilities minimal. No kitchen. - No curtains in dorms. I've traveled 7+ years and never written a review. I hate when people write biased reviews. Some places offer more, but for the price, I've yet to find a better deal, and understand I've tried 9

staff at aigoh hotel really do their best to make it a pleasurable experience for me, the manager, reception, security, porter, the very clean, spacious and numerous shared toilets and bathrooms are only located on the ground floor so it may be inconvenient for family with young children or the elderly as there is no lift, but for able body person like myself, it is totally fine.

This hostel just opened in Apr 2019. So everything is new, good air con, good shower with heater, good bed & very clean. Good location near to main bus station (Komtar) & easy to find food around that area. Definitely value for money and I will be back again. Nice quiet location away from the main street, good clean facilities, nice staff and owner, great value overall. Short walk to lots of street food. AC in room available whenever desired. Great newly renovated place with nice facilities. The staff are really wonderful and available 24 hours. Its just next to the Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul and night market there during my stay. Numerous shared toilets and bathrooms are only located on the ground floor so it may be inconvenient for family with young children or the elderly as there is no lift. However, no shower towel is provided, & they charge for RM5 for rental and non refundable!

Good : really close from kimberly and julia market, love lane, popular restaurants, bus stops, some famous spots in penang. Hot shower possible. There are shampoo and body wash. Room and beds are clean, also have enough space to each bed. There are lockers which have a key to put something important things. Staffs are friendly, and give a good service. Bad : Quite annoying to go bathroom. Toilets are not really clean. Stains(I don’t know exactly what it is) are all over the toilets. No laundry service.

This is the best area in Penang. So close to everywhere. Place is clean. Toilet a bit narrow but fine. Staff so nice. Cozy bed.

Exceptional”

Stay for 1 night. Clean and great location. Staff are friendly and helpful. Restroom and shower are on 1st floor but beds are on 2nd floor. Everything is clean. Feel brand new. But grab car is hard to drive to the front of hotel. If go back to Pinang will definitely stay there again.

I could fill up the screen telling you how amazing this place is. Center of everything, There’s a street food outside the hotel which is so nice. Clean place, great staff, good value for money. So worth it!

Pros - Beautiful heritage building Great location Friendly staff Lovely private room Cons - Bathrooms aren't the cleanest (sinks and toilets needed a wipe down ) hair in drains ect but nothing major , however I wonder how it would look in a year or two if the cleaning continues the way it is. No clean bath towels provided , bedding changed, bin emptied in the 7 nights we stayed here.

There are better places to stay”

Pro- Air conditioner works well, strong wifi, good location in Georgetown, there is a common fridge, plenty of shower and toilet stalls. Cons - the staff don’t seem to care, walls are thin and you can hear everything from outside but it is a heritage building. The location on google maps is wrong, brought us to where the hostel used to be located but it was a couple more blocks of walking. They make you take your shoes off and wear sandals but the floors are so dirty. This is not a social hostel.

Location is good but hard to find”

The location in google maps need to be updated since it was not correct direction. The facility is also very basic. I book for the single room but they even not provide tissue in the room.

Recommended for budget”

+ location is close to Komtar & halal food : Valet Dimsum, Kuih Culture & many stall in Pasar Chowrasta + mineral water available + shower room on ground floor. For men & women separated. Provided soap but not towel (for me). There are place to hang wet towel or your laundry. The iron available. + I stayed in 8-female dormitory room with the light & stop contact (universal plug) beside every bunk. It's huge so I could pray (sholat) inside. + It's new renovation so look clean + Friendly staff (or owner or manager ???) - at 3rd day, there quest were checked out. The bed were neither cleaned nor set up immediately. - when checked out, I forgot to take my key deposit (RM 20)back & the staff not reminded me. (Different staff when I check in & checked out). Overall it is recommended. Cheap, comfortable & clean (because new).
