Pleasantly surprised with the buffet breakfast available. Small selection but more than good enough. I am a vegan and the staff helped to prepare fried rice. It was nicely done and I could feel their sincerity. Location is about 10 minutes from Taichung TRA station. There is a delicious bakery beside the hotel too.

Nice cozy hotel”
A nicely designed hotel in a renovated old building, in the old town of Taichung. The location is near the train station, and good access to the BRT system if you want to visit the new town area of Taichung. The room is clean, and the area is quite.

Well keep hotel and located at the central of Taichung. Walking distance to nearby night markets and Taichung train station around 15 to 20 mins. We found that it is convenient to take line taxi or Ubers.

Pretty Good Hotel”
Had an enjoyable stay here. Lovely decoration with many nice touches. No views to speak of as surrounding were older buildings. Room was small but serviceable. Not much around the vicinity so it was a bit hard to find a place for breakfast. The place wasn't exactly cheap. Very comfortable beds & we slept really well. Lovely powerful shower & the room was spotless. It wasn't exactly cheap though.

Nice Eclectic Hotel”
Hotel interior is very unique and artsy. The staffs are very helpful and friendly (I asked them to chance room due to tobacco smell and they assisted me very well). Room is spacious. The room is pretty clean (not squeky clean, but still acceptable and convinient). The location is in the less pretty area of the city, but it’s walking distance to the iconic Miyahara!

We had a great stay at 1969 Blue Sky Hotel! The hotel design had great charm and everything was clean. Could not fault much of what was offered. Walking distance to most places including the main train station which was convenient. Highly recommend it.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Blue Sky Hotel! The reception staff was friendly and polite. The complimentary breakfast was delicious as well! Our room was clean and the housekeeping staff made up our room daily (which I’m very thankful for). This place is a gem and we’ll definitely return!! The only downside is that if you’re hungry at night you have to walk around 5-10mins to the nearest Family Mart. One tip - pick the rooms with floor to ceiling windows; they’ll look amazing on your Instagram feed!

Beautifully renovated new hotel in an older part of Taichung.”
Stayed a total of 3-nights, this is a boutique hotel is a newly renovated from an old building (circa 1969). We arrived late at night, the check-in was quick and smooth. The rooms were well sized, clean and the bed was very comfortable; even the toilet had the Washlet feature. Although the included breakfast was repetitions but delicious and hearty nonetheless. The location is close to the train station, in an older area of the city with lots of character, it is quite quiet at night which we liked. The best part are the extraordinarily friendly and helpful staff, particular the Front Desk Manager Brenda, who remembered us by name, and greeted us with smiles and cheers every time we come through the door; she also recommended areas to visit, transportation options, and restaurant choices in the area. We had a nice chat about other places we could visit in Taiwan while we were waiting for our taxi to take us to the airport. The kindness of Brenda and her team is priceless!

The interior design is modern and stunning. It is referred to as “elegant industrial.” I have stayed at some hotels designed as “industrial” with exposed pipes and other hardware and they felt cold and uninviting. This hotel is different. It retains a warm inviting feeling but encompasses many unique industrial design features. You will realize this is a modern hotel when you see the Nespresso coffee maker. I believe it is the first one I have seen in Taiwan. This as a boutique type hotel so you won’t have a doorman opening the door for you, but that door! An amazing piece of engineering. You will still have great service you expect from a Taiwan hotel. My stay included the buffet breakfast. It may have been lacking in quantity of items, but what I sampled was very good. Some items even showed a creative talent. I which there were more bakery items like croissants or western style cereal. They advertise a “lounge” on the second floor. It is not a lounge that serves drinks. It is only a sitting room with a jukebox that plays CDs. Overall, an amazing hotel that is a 10 minute walk from Taichung train station. At less than 100US for a Luxury room, this represented an excellent value or in the local culture, a great CP value.

Conveniently located near bus stops, Taichung Train Station and souvenir shops. Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel lobby is picturesque, though a bit small. Room was cozy and bright, well equipped. What I liked the most was the hotel breakfast. Not a wide selection of cuisines but more than adequate, with both western and Chinese cuisines, and fruits and vegetables available. There were different courses everyday and I loved all.

A real gem in Taichung”
Fantastic hotel in central Taichung not far from the station. Breakfast buffet is unusually great as well. If you relish a boutique hotel with style, this is an excellent place to stay, offering good value for the money especially on weekdays. Will stay again!

Great stay, fantastic staff”
We have stayed here twice now and if we return to Taichung we will stay here again. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms are quirky and well designed. Very clean with comfortable bedding. You can easily walk from the station or take a short taxi ride if travelling with luggage. The second stay we opted out of breakfast and a staff member recommended us a great morning market nearby where we enjoyed some local food.

Loved the Art Deco vibe of the hotel, which was carried on into the rooms. The hotel is located just far enough away from the crowds that can be found around the main station but is still fairly central- no more than a 10 minute walk. I highly recommend check out the bakery on the corner right before the hotel, amazing lemon cakes and weird sandwich’s
